The purpose of this study is to suggest various directions of living hanbok and proposed the living hanbok design that integrated the tradition and the contemporary, as well as the past and present with denim material that represents the youth cultureby while using the motif of Korean Jogakbo. For the research method, the data on living hanbok, denim, and Jogakbo were surveyed to develop and produce a living hanbok design. The development of a living hanbok design emphasized the meaning of longing for an accumulation of good fortune, by using the concept of 'wishing for fortune' including the symbolic images of denim and Jogakbo. The production results of this study are as follows. First, the Jogakbo motif consisted of patterns yearning for harmony, great fortune, longevity, and many children, and the living hanbok design integrated with the denim material symbolized the convergence of the past and present and the harmony of eastern and western cultures. The study could verify that the living hanbok design was recreated in a contemporary sense to be used everyday by expressing contemporary senses in a traditional image. Second, leftover fabric pieces and recycled materials that can be abandoned by the material market were used for denim. This study could also develop the living hanbok design as a sustainable design through upcycling, an important social trend, puting an emphasis on carrying out socio-ethical responsibilities. Third, denim Jogakbo work, which is connected by small pieces of denim material, used to be a difficult and labor intensive handicraft, but it could be proposed as a new high value-added fashion and generate contemporary living hanbok with a new image.
The tendency of the Minimalism in the contemporary a architecture is based on Mies van der Rohe s saying ‘나SS IS m more" as the principle of the Minimal art and its formative c composition. It can be divided into technical Minimalism p prevailed in Northern Europe and the zone of German l language, and the regional one in Southern Europe and S Southern America. The former is interested in the experiences of the techniques and materials, and the latter in that of the s space and the place through the simple forms. The minialistic approach to the architecture is nat only m methodological one. It accepts the concept and the construction of architecture as 2 axes for making it keeps the tradition and c communication with the master builder, the materials, and i염 m means to compound. The expressive characteristics of works in M Minimalism are 1) as the formal issue, it is simple, self-referring. without any symbol or any allusion, and compounds the r repetitive forms as the comceptual aspec않 of architecture, 2) it h has the characteristies such as the approach directly to the m means by which architecture made, the critical interests to the m material attributes, and the capacity to the contemporary t technology as the issue of technique and materials, 3) regarding t the space and the place, it shows the good sense to the site in t the sphere intervention of architecture 1e Maininlalism architecture has i않 impotance in the point t that it seeks to the qualities immanent in architecture by s showing the marvelous status through discovering the i immanent properties of the site, program materials, and the s structure, and also it begins new way of interpreting a architecture with new viewpoint to the its essence as well as a architecture itself.self.

Pillows are tools that humans have used for a long time to sleep or lie down and rest. It is bedding, and the oldest literature dealing with it is Volume 29 of 'GoryeoDogyeong', which describes embroidered pillows. The oldest relic is the queen's pillow (National Treasure No. 164) excavated from the tomb of King Muryeong, and is in the Gongju National Museum. Regarding the research method, after reviewing literature and the relics of traditional pillows, the process of reproducing the traditional Yukgol pillow and the pine nut pillow production method were explained step by step. This study found the plain attitudes in the lives of people who used materials that could be easily gained from their daily lives in rural communities oriented to rice farming never recklessly threw out any piece of cloth or cotton and use it for pillow stuffing or pillow ends. Also, the sophisticated sense of aesthetics that you can see from the pine nut pillows, whose ends were made of remnants from making clothing are exquisitely similar to what was shown in patchwork previously. The biggest meaning of restoring traditional pillows was looking into traditional culture, particularly the ordinary people's living culture. It was very difficult because the researcher had to find materials that were difficult to obtain in this age, the making process was complex, and it took much time; however, it is significant in that the restoration of traditional pillows allows for the succession of tradition.

This study is aimed at suggesting a direction for the development of sensuous and creative art mask design by making art masks rooted in the aesthetic characteristics of psychedelia. The conceptual definition and characteristics of psychedelia were identified on previous studies, specialized books and works of art. The characteristics of psychedelia based on theoretical research were limited to illusionism, abstraction, play, and dynamism, which are often used in researcher's work, and four research works were produced by combining them with art mask design. By trying to diversify works regardless of form or tradition, this study could make the infinite creation of art mask possible and transform that into a new modern beauty. In addition, by expressing internal meaning along with external characteristics in the design of works, it could bring the establishment of a new perception and value of art mask. In the future, it is hoped that this study will be used as basic data for follow-up research related to art mask design and be helpful in the development of art mask design.

With tradition and culture as a base the principles of markets and capital are incorporated as well. Such current design is the outcome of design which honors social values represented based on culture acquired from individuals and society and the the responsibility of the designer who provides it. For the realization of social values in design, it should be considered along with the influence of design on society, this study presented the following cases: First, human-oriented design for those who are isolated, but should not be ignored; Second, cultural-oriented design which makes a contribution to local conditions; and third, usability-oriented design which replaces familiar ideas with new paradigms. This study focuses on the correlation between Kotgal and paper-folding. This paper first examines the meaning and history of Korean ancient Kotgal and then investigates relationship between Kotgal and Korean paper-folding culture which has been inherited in various ways. Throughout the study, literature research and analysis have been conducted along with empirical studies. The results of the study are as follows. First, it has been told that Kotgal was used a as a trident hat symbolizing the sky, land, and man, whereas Korean paper-folding is known as closely related to the folk beliefs which had existed since ancient times. From ancient times, the Korean ancestors expressed the Three Gods representing beauties of the nature, 'sky(Chun), land(Ji) and man(In)' on the conical hat and prayed for their wish to the heaven. Second, Kotgal has been evolved in various ways from ancient times through Goryeo and Joseon Dynasty to present. The form of Kotgal has begun with folding and this is closely related to the origin of Korean paper-folding, which is the Korean traditional craft. Third, the paper-folding tradition of Korea has been variously applied in the Korean culture such as rituals, life crafts and plays and expresses the unconventional philosophical concepts unique of Korea. In conclusion, this study evidently shows that the Korean philosophical ideas behind Kotgal which originated from ancient paper-folding are scientific and systematic.
The Russian poet A. C. Pushkin left more than a hundred self-portraits in his lifetime. These self-portraits are the subject of a special research project. Pushkin liked to sketch himself disguised in various shapes in his manuscripts. Besides Pushkin, many authors have portrayed themselves, but in terms of their quantity and fame, it is difficult to find self-portraits that transcended those which are as detailed and revealing as that of Pushkin's. Focusing on this point, this paper first examines the position of the poet's self-portraits in the context of the tradition of the self-portrait, as a painting genre full of romanticism as manifested and revealed in the 19th century. Subsequently, this article explains the meaning of the Pushkin's typical self-portraits in profile, which were mostly drawn in his manuscripts. Finally, in order to explore the philosophical implications contained in this poet's self-portraits, this paper attempts to read poet's self-portrait in comparison with Rembrandt's self-portrait, and Montaigne's Essais as well for a comprehensive comparison of the three entities.
In recent years, a number of Chinese artists are interested in 'Chinese-style'. 'Chinese-style' can be understood as an art form in which Chinese elements are combined with modernized sensibilities. This paper analyzed how Chinese traditional elements can be effectively implemented in fashion photography, focusing on Chen Man, a leading fashion photographer in China. Our research shows that Chen Man looks to the traditions and history of China to inspire her modern work, which makes her unique as a Chinese fashion photographer. She tried not to repetitively express typical images of Chinese elements but to visualize the symbolic meaning of traditional elements as new images of modern China. Through this practice, she were able to effectively communicate the images of products and brands promoted in fashion photos. Furthermore, her works are being recognized by not only the fashion industry but also the international art elite as they contribute to building and promoting Chinese fashion identity. Research on Chen Man's work is significant in providing a new way for 'Chinese-style' fashion photographers to reinterpret Chinese traditional elements without following Chinese tradition.
