고분해능 ICP-MS를 이용한 반도체용 고순도 황산 분석 (Analysis of Ultra Pure Sulfuric Acid for Semiconductor Using High Resolution ICP-MS)

  • Ultra trace metal impurities of high-purity sulfuric acid for semiconductor process have been determined in the concentration of lower than ppb (ng/g) level using high resolution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (HR-ICP-MS).The acid samples were evaporated and concentrated by the factor of 20. No clement in the acids exceeded 1ppb level and most of the clements were determined below 10ppt (pg/g). Elements without spectral interference in mass spectrum, such as In, V, Mn, etc, were determined in the concentration of below 1 ppt level The recoveries in the range of 72% to 127.2% for 0.5 ppb spiked sample were obtained.

Effect of Oxytocin Administration on Certain Minerals in the Milk of Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)

  • To study the secretion of trace elements during early lactation, twelve lactating Murrah buffaloes were selected from the herd of the institute. The buffaloes were divided into two groups of six each. Buffaloes of group I were not injected and served as control. Buffaloes of group II received oxytocin injection (2.5 I.U.) intramuscularly for a period of five days for let down of milk. Milk samples were collected from both groups of buffaloes five days before, during and after the administration of oxytocin. Aliquots of milk samples from each buffalo were composited in proportion to their milk yield and used for analysis of trace elements in milk. In both the groups of buffaloes Cu, Mg, Fe, Zn and Mn contents did not vary significantly between animals. However, Ca levels varied significantly (p<0.01) between animals. Administration of oxytocin influenced (p<0.01) Cu, Mg, Zn, Fe and Mn secretion in milk. However, Ca secretion was not affected by oxytocin administration. Secretion of these elements also varied significantly during different days of the study. Zinc content of milk in the control group also varied significantly (p<0.01) during different days and periods of study indicating thereby no effect of oxytocin. The study indicated that administration of oxytocin increases Cu and Mn content and decreases Mg, Fe and Zn content without altering the Ca concentration of milk.

초고압초음파분해법을 이용한 축산물내 미량금속 잔류분석을 위한 시료전처리 방법 (A Study on Sample Preparation for the Analysis of Trace Elements in Foods of Animal Origin by Ultra High Pressure Microwave Digestion)

  • Simple and rapid sample preparation method for trace elements in foods of animal origin using ultra high pressure microwave digestion system (UHP/MDS) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP/AES) were developed. 1. For the digestion of sample using UHP-MDS, 20% nitric acid (v/v) was the most suitable solvent for the determination of trace elements in foods of animal origin. 2. The optimal digestion conditions for UHP-MDS were as follows: final temperature $180^{\circ}C$, final pressure 400 PSI, and magnetic power 900 W in the solid sample. For the liquid sample final temperature $170^{\circ}C$, final pressure 300 PSI and magnetic power 700 W were optimal conditions. 3. As result of interlaboratory test, the average recovery rate of the for solid sample were 88.3~99.1% for As, 82.4~93.3% for Cd, 89.2~101.2% for Hg and 86.5~93.8% for Pb, respectively. In liquid sample, it were 87.0~96.8% for As, 80.9~96.6% for Cd, 87.5~91.2% for Hg and 91.4~95.5% for Pb, respectively. 4. The average coefficient variation rate were 3.3~15.9% for solid sample and 2.9~10.8% for liquid sample.

대형유통업소주차장의 축적먼지 중 미량원소성분 분석과 오염원 평가 (Trace Element Analysis and Source Assessment of Parking Lot Dust in Large Shopping Mall)

  • 2011년 3월에 대구광역시의 대형유통업소주차장을 대상으로 총 48개의 먼지시료를 채취하여 100 ${\mu}m$ 이하로 걸러서 산추출한 후 ICP로 14개 원소를 분석하였다. 미량원소성분 중 Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, V는 자연적 발생원의 영향을, 그리고 Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn은 인위적 발생원의 영향을 받는 것으로 추정된다. 미량원소성분의 농도는 자연적 발생원 성분이 인위적 발생원 성분보다 뚜렷하게 높았고, 인위적 발생원 성분은 지상옥상이 지상실내와 지하실내보다 농도가 높았다. 미량원소성분의 조성백분율은 인위적 발생원 성분에 비해 자연적 발생원 성분이 대부분을 차지하였고, 인위적 발생원 성분은 지상옥상이 지상실내와 지하실내보다 함유율이 높았다. 주차장은 유해중금속오염이 거의 없는 수준을 보였고, 지상옥상은 지상실내와 지하실내보다 중금속오염도가 높았다. 미량원소성분간의 상관성은 지상옥상이 지상실내와 지하실내보다 양호한 상관성이 많았고, 인위적 발생원 성분은 주차장연수와 주차밀도와도 상관성이 양호하였다.

  • Due to the growing demand for bottled mineral waters, a study was undertaken to determine the quality of the twenty six brands of domestic and imported drinking waters. The quality of water was evaluated by analyzing the twenty four elements including minerals, essential and/or toxic trace elements, and the analytical items to affect the taste of water. The contribution of drinking water to the mineral nutrition of human was calculated in order to investigate the health effect of drinking water. The taste of water was evaluated in terms of minerals, anions, TDS, alkalinity, hardness and pH.

인듐 수산화물(In(OH)3)의 공동침전을 이용한 미량의 중금속 회수 및 분석방법 연구 (A Study on Co-precipitation of Indium Hydroxide (In(OH)3) for the Recovery and Determination of Trace Heavy Metals)

  • 복잡한 모체를 갖는 시료에 존재하는 미량의 원소들은 모체방해효과로 인하여 분석이 어렵다. 따라서 시료모체로부터 미량의 원소들을 분리해서 분석할 수 있다면 그 방해 요인을 줄일 수 있어 분석에 많은 도움이 된다. 시료모체와 미량의 원소들을 분리하기 위하여 인듐 수산화물($In(OH)_3$)을 이용하여 시료 내에 존재하는 미량의 원소들을 공동침전시킴으로서 분석물질을 분리시킨 후에 유도 결합 플라즈마-원자 방출 분광법을 이용하여 분석하는 방법에 대한 연구를 하였다. 이 연구에서는 공동침전의 발생과 회수율을 높일 수 있는 최적의 조건을 실험을 통해 설정하였다. 공동침전물을 석영섬유필터를 사용하여 걸러내고, 공침이 발생하는 시료의 pH를 9.5로 조정하였다. 또한 필터의 침전물을 ICP-AES로 측정하기 위해 질산 30% 용액에 1분 동안 담궈 침전물을 녹였고, 침전물이 녹은 질산용액은 온도변화 없이 농축을 진행하는 최적의 조건을 설정하였다. 이 최적조건을 소금시료에 적용하여 분석한 결과, 신안 증도에서의 소금에서는 중금속이 거의 검출 되지 않았지만 전남 영광 소금의 경우 카드뮴을 제외하고 여러개의 중금속이 미량 검출되었다.

Simultaneous Preconcentration and Determination of Trace Elements in Water Samples by Coprecipitation-Flotation with Lanthanum Hydroxide $[La(OH)_3]$

  • The preconcentration and determination of trace Cd(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), Pb(Ⅱ), Mn(Ⅱ) and Zn(Ⅱ) in water samples were studied by the precipitate flotation using La(OH)3 as a coprecipitant. The analytes were quantitatively coprecipitated by adding 3.0 mL of 0.1 M La(Ⅲ) solution in a 1,000 mL water sample and adjusting the pH to 9.5 with NaOH solution. After the addition of the 1:8 mixed surfactant solution of each 0.1% sodium oleate and sodium lauryl sulfate, the solution was stirred with a magnetic stirrer for 10 minutes. The precipitates were floated to the surface by bubbling with nitrogen gas and collected in a small sampling bottle. The precipitates were dissolved in nitric acid and then the solutions were diluted to 25.00 mL with a deionized water. The analytes were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. This procedure was applied to the waste water analysis. This technique was simple, convenient and especially rapid for the analysis of a large volume of sample. And also, from the recoveries of better than 92% which were obtained from real samples, this method could be judged to be applicable to the preconcentration and quantitative determination of trace elements in water samples.

판유리 시료에서 동위원소 및 미량원소 분석법 (Natural isotopes and trace element analyses in glass samples)

  • 유리 같은 미세 증거물은 전이(transfer)의 결과로서 법과학 실험실에 자주 제시되는 증거물의 일종이다. 이들 시료에서 미량 원소 분석의 반복성과 재현성을 검토하였다. 미세 증거물의 유출원을 규명하기 위하여 LA-ICP-MS를 사용하여 분산 분석이 이루어졌다. 짝지음비교가 모든 시료에 대하여 이루어졌고 각 시료는 이동식별을 위하여 총 [n(n-1)/2] (n :시료의 수) 쌍이 비교 되었다. 이번 실험의 목적은 법과학 시료의 다원소분석에 대한 LA-ICP-MS의 이용 가능성을 검토하는 것이다. 유리의 경우, 2개의 제조 공장으로 부터의 12개 시료를 수집하여 분석에 사용하였다. 유리에서 미량원소 분석용 표준품 NIST 612를 사용하여 31개 원소를 분석하고 분산분석(ANOVA)이 수행되었다. 원소들은 정밀도와 시료간 분산값을 고려 하여 4개의 그룹으로 나뉘어 졌다. 11개의 원소(209Bi, 90Zr, 121Sb, 178Hf, 59Co, 238U, 208Pb, 140Ce, 118Sn, 49Ti, 137Ba)가 선택 되었고 137Ba 만으로 66개의 가능한 pair들 중 6개를 구별(p<0.05)하지 못하였으나, 49Ti과 137Ba의 두 원소를 사용할 경우 모든 시료들이 구별 가능 한 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 결론적으로 LA-ICP-MS에 의한 다원소 분석은 법과학 시료의 이동 식별에 잠재력있는 분석기법이라 하겠다.

인체 환경 연구를 위한 한약재, 작업장 공기 및 모발의 원소분석 (Elemental Analysis of herbal medicine, Foundry Air and Hair for the Study of Human Surroundings)

  • Hair provides important information about the body's mineral status. Therefore, we have studied the trace elemental distribution in human hair under different inhalation and ingestion environment using neutron activation analysis (NAA). NAA is a powerful analytical method which can be used successfully to determine trace elements in environmental and biological materials. Total diet and six different herbal medicine were analysed to study ingestion environment. Airborne dust in foundry was analysed and compared with outdoor dust to study inhalation environment. Human hairs of common person, herbal medicine taker and foundry worker were analysed to estimate the trace elemental distribution of people under different inhalation and ingestion environment. Analytical results show that herbal medicines contain higher micronutrients such as Ca, Mg, Mn and Cu that total diet and airborne dust in foundry has high Cr. The concentration of Ca, Mg and Mn in hair of herbal medicine taker is two times higher than in hair of common person and Cr con-centration in hair of foundry worker is about three times higher than in hair of common person. These results show that NAA can be used importantly to monitor human health through biological and environmental samples.
