  • This thesis was developed so that users can access tourism services more easily by utilizing Unity based on the metaverse. The core function and environment of the program were created using Unity, a game production tool, to create a virtual space. In the virtual space, it is implemented so that the tourist service can be used from various angles and positions through NPCs to which control and camera viewpoints are applied. This project is a content that allows you to visit tourist attractions in a virtual world without going to the site by using virtual reality technology. The background and goal of the project is to make it into a game form using a UI frame and fuse it into a simple game form to add fun elements to enable virtual reality tourist experience applying game for tourist attraction publicity.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether the motivation for visiting experiential tourism can be maximized by revitalization of domestic tourism according to tourist image and visit satisfaction. In order to achieve this purpose, the four factors of educational motive, experiential motive, cultural motive, and communion motive of experiential tourists who visited domestic experiential tourist destinations, as well as the image of tourist destination, and suggestions for revitalizing domestic tourism through visit satisfaction were proposed. Therefore, the implications of this study are as follows. First, theoretical significance can be found by establishing the concept of domestic experience tourists' visit motives, image of tourist destinations and results related to visit satisfaction in the COVID-19 according to this study. It suggests that it is an essential condition for promoting a new change in which tourists participate in experiential tourism motives in the era of the pandemic by providing experiential tourism programs that are tailored to the level of tourists through research on the image of tourist destinations and their satisfaction with their visit motives. are giving Second, in terms of experiential tourism programs operated by domestic experiential tourism companies, it should be possible to promote the image of a safe tourist destination utilizing the characteristics of untact services that can provide non-face-to-face services. In addition, in an environment where visits to experiential tourism activities are somewhat limited in the era of the pandemic corona, it will help to revitalize domestic tourism and the local economy by expanding the non-face-to-face service to discover and develop direct experience programs in the region.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate how Jongga and its cuisine is perceived by Koreans and foreign tourists and develop Jongga culinary culture for culinary tourism. Chungjae Jongga was chosen since it is one of the most famous Jongga in South Korea. In-depth personal interviews were performed with Koreans and foreign tourists. Interviews were performed to provide deeper insights into comments and subject matters. Most tourists selected "having lunch at Jongga" as the most distinctive part of the tour. To develop the experience at Jongga as a culinary destination, questionnaires were created to study eight areas: satisfaction, expectations as a tourist at Jongga, most impressive part of tour, preference of food serving style, length of stay, price range, things to be improved, and role of food guide. This study will help Jongga to improve food as a culinary tourist's attraction and ultimately heighten the value of Jongga. Perceptions toward Jongga and its cuisine were generally positive, but the quality of service and lack of organization in establishments were perceived to be negative factors.

  • Due to the high level of economic development, the standard of living has improved vastly. As a result, the moderns now want to be healthy more than ever. For that reason, tourism relating health care increased in number and at those tourist sites, people have tried to allure more visitors by services, resources and facilities all accommodating to better health. On a claim that promoting tourist attractions using health care assists regional development in this study, I seek for ways to utilize regional resources and facilities to promote tourism.

Factors Impacting Tourism Demand: An Analysis of 10 ASEAN Countries

  • This study investigates the effect of infrastructure, economic sectors and its status, foreign direct investment and private investment, as well as the role of political stability in enhancing the tourism demand in the ASEAN region. The research collected the secondary data from the World Bank database and the UNWTO website of 10 ASEAN countries over 17 years from 2000 to 2016. Applying the generalized method of moments, this research found that, "private investment", "economic sectors", "exchange rate and infrastructure measured by "using of the internet" can increase the tourism demand of a country in the ASEAN region. This research provided evidence indicating that the "foreign direct investment" and "inflation" are two detrimental factors for tourist attraction. The major finding confirmed the positive role of "political stability" in increasing tourist arrivals. First, attracting tourists to a country always poses many challenges to its government. It has been observed in the past decades that though there were many documents, which confirmed that industry can help in promoting tourism, very few studies investigated the role of both agriculture and manufacturing sectors in tourism promotion. Secondly, there are only a few studies which verifies the stability of the political system to the tourism demand in the ASEAN region and that this variable (political stability) has the strongest impact.

The Economic Value for the Post-use of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Facilities: Case of Alpine Stadium in Jeongseon (2018평창동계올림픽 시설 사후활용에 대한 경제적 가치: 정선군 알파인 경기장을 사례로)

  • Purpose - This study estimated the value of the post-use of Alpine stadium in Jeongseon as a tourist attraction, which is one of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics facilities, and identified determinant factors on the willingness to pay (WTP). Design/methodology/approach - A dichotomous-choice model of contingent valuation method (CVM) that is known for an effective tool was used to calculate the value. The questionnaire was conducted on 650 visitors to major tourist destinations in Jeongseon and 629 copies of the valid samples were analyzed. Findings - The results shows that determinate factors on the WTP are; suggestion cost, need (application of Ecotourism Program to the Restoration Process), agree(agree to Ecotourism Program in the Restoration Process) and age. Also, the WTP on the facility is 16,296 won per person. Research implications or Originality - This study estimates the value of the post-utilization of Alpine Stadium of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics facilities, which have been experiencing conflict in recent years. For this reason, the findings of the paper will provide meaningful information for tourism development and management policies of the region.

  • Digital tourism is the digital support of the tourist experience before, during and after the tourist activity[1]. The GPS-enabled mobile phones provide location-based mobile applications such as tour guide and storytelling services. In this paper, we propose the smart tour guide service platform based on GIS and develop the mobile application to provide the smart tour guide service. The proposed smart tour guide service platform consists of CMS, the multi-modal navigation system, the tour attraction content creation and management system, the tour commodity creation and management system, the smart search system, and the user terminal. The smart tour guide application supports digital tourism in the pre-tour, during tour, and post-tour using the proposed smart tour guide service platform in the popular tourist attractions in Jeju.

Nature-based Tourism in Small Islands Adjacent to Jakarta City, Indonesia: A case study from Seribu Islands

  • In this paper, the nature-based tourism is described as one of the tools to achieve sustainable development in small islands. The study was carried out at Ayer, Bidadari and Onrust Islands of Kepulauan Seribu chains at Jakarta Bay, Indonesia. While the historical records show that previous uses of such islands have started at sixteen century, tourism uses was started at the beginning of 1970s. Among nature-based tourism destination in Kepulauan Seribu chains, these islands are the famous destinations and received a lot of tourists. Tourism growth at these islands has stimulated development of numerous tourism facilities and infrastructure to meet visitor satisfaction. It is observed in this study that island's site-plan destination design has contributed to the successful and sustainability of tourism in small island. The key success lies on the successful integration and implementation of three substantial perspectives into practices, namely economic, ecosystem and social perspectives. First, in order to enhance economic benefits, a site-plan design allowing floating cottages establishment to extent room availability, to build strong images as tropical paradise islands, and to enhance tourist satisfaction with the objectives of improving income and sustaining tourist loyalty to the destination. This design is also reducing land risk from tourism impact and it becomes the significant key of second perspective, the ecosystem perspective. Moreover, the ecosystem perspective has been implemented through native vegetation preservation that led island's wildlife conservation and became potential tourism attraction. The design also develops effective mechanism to manage and regulate visitor flows by establishing visitor track corridors. In implementation, such corridor plays an important role to reduce tourist density in single places and therefore become instrument to reduce severe visitor impact to wildlife, vegetation and heritages of islands. Third, the social aspect of development allowing heritages to conserve and furthermore serve numerous benefits for education, socio-political, culture, and historical studies. Through this study, it is clear that the success of these islands to continuous tourism growth lies on the island's vision to integrate economic, ecosystem and social perspectives on tourism development.

New Mathematical Model for Travel Route Recommendation Service (여행경로 추천 서비스를 위한 최적화 수리모형)

  • With the increased interest in the quality of life of modern people, the implementation of the five-day working week, the increase in traffic convenience, and the economic and social development, domestic and international travel is becoming commonplace. Furthermore, in the past, there were many cases of purchasing packaged goods of specialized travel agencies. However, as the development of the Internet improved the accessibility of information about the travel area, the tourist is changing the trend to plan the trip such as the choice of the destination. Web services have been introduced to recommend travel destinations and travel routes according to these needs of the customers. Therefore, after reviewing some of the most popular web services today, such as Stubby planner (http://www.stubbyplanner.com) and Earthtory (http://www.earthtory.com), they were supposed to be based on traditional Traveling Salesman Problems (TSPs), and the travel routes recommended by them included some practical limitations. That is, they were not considered important issues in the actual journey, such as the use of various transportation, travel expenses, the number of days, and lodging. Moreover, although to recommend travel destinations, there have been various studies such as using IoT (Internet of Things) technology and the analysis of cyberspatial Big Data on the web and SNS (Social Networking Service), there is little research to support travel routes considering the practical constraints. Therefore, this study proposes a new mathematical model for applying to travel route recommendation service, and it is verified by numerical experiments on travel to Jeju Island and trip to Europe including Germany, France and Czech Republic. It also expects to be able to provide more useful information to tourists in their travel plans through linkage with the services for recommending tourist attractions built in the Internet environment.

  • Currently, there are many simple searches for local culture and tourism, but systematic information retrieval using ontology technology is weak. The keyword-based search, which is an existing search method, derives a search result that is different from a user's wanted intention. On the other hand, semantic search using ontology constructs shows the information related to the search term by creating a relation between words and words. Therefore, when tourists search for cultural and tourist attractions in the area, they provide information that includes meaning relevance in the search results. If the ontology provides information on the culture, sightseeing area, transportation, Can be more easily grasped. In this paper, we propose an ontology-based retrieval system based on culture and tourist sites utilizing public institutions database by using mobile application by extending search system which relied only on existing internal database to provide accurate and reliable information to users. This efficient structure of the ontology makes it possible to provide information suitable for the user quickly and accurately.
