A Study on Tourist Destinations Recommendation App by Medical Tourism Type Using User-Based Collaborative Filtering

  • Recently, medical tourism is recognized as a high value-added industry because of its longer period of stay and higher expenditure than general tourism. In particular, although the number of medical tourists visiting Korea is increasing, the perception of Korean medical services is low. The purpose of this paper is to develop the app which, based on medical tourism type, recommends tourism destinations. Additionally, this proposed app can expand general tourism as well. It can provide tourists with medical information easily by sorting types tourists. Besides, as medical tourists normally stay long, we can take the advantage of post-treatment time. This app collects medical information data and tourist destination data, and categorizes the types of medical tourists into four categories: disease medical tourism, traditional medical tourism, cosmetic medical tourism, and recreational medical tourism. It provides medical information according to each type and recommends customized tourist destinations. User-based collaborative filtering is applied for tourist destination recommendations.

  • 지문 인식 시스템의 인식을 위한 등록점으로 융선의 단점과 분기점에 관하여 연구하였다. 원 지문 영상은 전처리 과정을 거치게 되면서 잘못된 특징점을 포함하게 되며 이는 지문 인식 시스템의 효율성을 감소시키는 원인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 세선화된 지문 영상으로부터 후보 특징점을 추출한 후 연결성 탐색 정보를 이용하여 의사 특징점을 제거할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • It should be needed to realize a general system which make it possible to enjoy cyber tourism based on knowledge information system to recover a local potential growth power, catch a jumping chance again, and hold a new competitive power. But to discuss a tourism information system, the matters of hard ware, software and information mediating system should be reviewed generally, this research is likely to provide a cyber tourism information system through internet as a way of cyber tours through multimedia technology and stereoscopic image technique using geographic information system centering on the networking system of tourism information. Constructing $\ulcorner$cyber touristy city$\lrcorner$ on internet, foster a new industry, to go balanced with a present tourism industry and experience a virtual reality, various theme tours create high profit to shrunken tourism industry. Evaluating the Official Websites of SAARC Countries on their Web Information on Food Tourism

  • The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations are a potpourri of diverse religions, races and cultures with rich natural and cultural heritage but yet to tap the full potential of tourism. An investigation into the glorifying heritage of these eight SAARC nations pinpoints towards their rich food and culinary heritage that is yet to be explored to carve them as food destinations that would definitely help ameliorating tourism too. The Global Report on Food Tourism of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reveals results from a survey on food tourism marketing promotion, from which internet marketing tools, such as websites have been effectively utilized to promote food tourism in a particular destination. (UNWTO, 2012). Sensing the importance of the websites in the promotion of food tourism for any destination, the present study aims at the comparative content analysis of the official tourism websites of SAARC nations to evaluate their performance from the perspective of promotion of culinary heritage on world -wide web. The modified Balanced ScoreCard (BSC) approach is incorporated into the evaluation by taking into consideration four perspectives: technical, user friendliness and site attractiveness, tourism effectiveness and food tourism effectiveness. A set of 88 critical success factors representing these four perspectives is then used to examine the websites. The study reflects on the relative strength and weakness of the tourism websites of SAARC nations in promoting food tourism and as well help suggesting the remedial measures catalyzing the food tourism promotion through websites.

스마트 관광 시대에 국내 도보여행을 위한 안전정보 프레임워크 개발 및 적용 (Developing and Applying a Framework for Safety in Domestic Walking Tourism)

  • Purpose This study aims to propose a framework for safety in domestic walking tourism, which defines the scope and type of safety information for tourists. Also, the framework provides a systematic classification for safety information in walking tourism. As the importance of safety in walking tourism due to the frequent occurrence of crimes and unexpected accidents increases, it is necessary to provide tourists with safety information on walking courses rapidly and systematically. However, most administrators (e.g., local governments) have mainly focused on providing tour information on walking courses through Internet websites or mobile apps, overlooking the safety issue. Besides, there is a lack of understanding of safety not only in walking tourism but also in the whole tourism industry. Design/methodology/approach This study proposes the framework that covers all possible safety-related information in walking tourism. Furthermore, to validate its availability, this study analyzes eight major platforms which offer tour information to tourists by applying the framework. Findings The major findings of this study are as follows. First, all platforms considered in this study do not provide any information on tourism safety, focusing on the provision of tour information. Second, three platforms currently provide an SOS function which means post-safety information. That is, no safety information is provided to prevent safety issues in advance. Finally, despite the increase of social concerns, all platforms do not provide safety information on public order and diseases in the social disaster classification as well as environmental pollution in the natural disaster classification. The details and implications of the findings are presented.

  • 본 연구는 옴니채널에서의 관광정보탐색과 만족도간의 관계와 관광경험과 위험지각간의 조절 영향관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 첫째, 관광정보탐색동기의 편리성과 신뢰성은 모두 만족도에 유의한 영향관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관광정보탐색동기인 편리성과 신뢰성이 만족도와의 관계에서 관광경험의 조절효과는 유의적이 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 관광정보탐색동기인 편리성과 신뢰성이 만족도와의 관계에서 위험지각의 조절효과는 재무위험의 경우 유의적인 것으로 나타났고, 심리위험은 유의적이지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 재무적인 위험의 지각은 만족을 저해한다는 점에서 재무위험을 줄이기 위해 이용하기전 보다 많은 탐색을 통해 정보를 얻으려는 경향이 강하므로, 좀 더 실용적이고 정확한 형태로 정보가 제공되어야 할 것이다.

Perceived Value, Importance of Nutrition Information, and Behavioral Intention for Food Tourism in Busan

  • Food is widely accepted as very important factor in tourists' experiences by researchers. However, few studies revealed tourists' importance of food for their travel. Therefore, through a case study in Busan (South Korea), this study aims to critically assess the importance of food tourism from domestic tourists' perspectives. In particular, this study assess the relationship between food tourists' value, nutrition information, behavioral intention of tourists' food experiences during their travel. Using SmarPLS program, a quantitative research methodology involving a structured questionnaire has been adopted. The results reveal that food tourists' value and importance of nutrition information plays different roles in food tourism. Food tourism value and nutrition information has shown its importance for increasing revisit intention in Busan. In light of these findings, marketing strategies can be identified to accelerate the development of food tourism at a destination.

호텔선택속성이 유비쿼터스 관광정보서비스만족도에 미치는 영향: 호텔 종사자를 대상으로 (Hotel Preference Attributes and Ubiquitous Tourism Information Systems)

  • Ubiquitous tourism information systems are more and more required to provide cultural contents comprising material heritage, performing art, folk tradition, handicraft or customs of everyday life, along with traditional tourist information about hotel facilities and infrastructure. This study attempts to investigate the effect of tourists' hotel preference attributes in terms of their satisfaction with ubiquitous tourism service. In so doing, 145 questionnaires were used to analyze the satisfaction of u-tourism service and the hotel preference attributes through the field survey. The questionnaires were collected from hotel employees who had experienced the ubiquitous tourism service. It is found that some of hotel-preference attributes positively influence u-tourism satisfaction but not all of them did. Service and differentiation attributes had an impact to u-tour and u-hotel function. And beverage attributes, to u-tour function, and convenience attributes, to u-hotel function. These findings mean that the hotel built u-tourism infrastructure gain a competitive advantage than the otherwise hotel.

  • Smart tourism is a social phenomenon arising from the convergence of information technology with the tourism experience. New ways of doing business, new patterns of experience and new problems concerning tourism destination image management and marketing are emerging due to the ubiquitous presence and influence of the internet and mobile devices. New conceptual tools are also available to enable researchers to further understand the social implications as well as the practical implementation of these new virtual and augmented smart tourism ecosystems. To this effect this paper introduces the constructivist paradigm and associated research methodologies as another toolbox for interpreting how smart tourism works as a form of soft power. The implications revealed by constructivism are that through smart tourism ecosystems, destination commodification and commoditization, experience and image formation are increasingly self-perpetuating, autonomous and organic social constructions. Researchers in information technology can use constructivist research to further explore these dynamic developments in smart tourism.

지역문화관광 웹사이트의 분석 및 개선 방안에 관한 연구 : 부산광역시의 문화관광정보시스템을 중심으로 (A Study on the Analysis and Improving Plan of the Local Culture & Tourism Website : Focusing on the Culture & Tourism Information System of Busan Metropolitan City)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지방정부에서 제공하는 문화관광정보 웹사이트가 콘텐트와 서비스적인 면에서 충실하지 못하므로 지역문화관광 웹사이트의 분석을 통해 문제점을 분석하고 개선 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 연구의 방법은 지역문화관광 웹사이트를 분석 및 평가하기에 적합한 요인들을 도출한 한국관광공사 지자체 관광분야 홈페이지 평가지표인 콘텐트 평가, 사용성 평가, 디자인 평가, 상호작용성 평가의 4개 항목을 근거로 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 지역문화관광 웹사이트의 가장 큰 문제점은 사용자중심의 콘텐트와 서비스가 부족하다는 것이었다. 따라서 자유로운 관광경로 설정, 예약시스템의 보완, 다양한 검색 기능의 강화 등 지역문화관광 웹사이트는 사용자의 요구를 반영한 맞춤형 정보를 제공하여야 한다.
