The purposes of the study are (1) to explore relationships amongst attitudes to positive/negative tourism impacts, community satisfaction, government trust, and support for tourism development and (2) to provide practical implications for policy makers how they can gain residents' support by increasing community satisfaction and government trust, which are resulted from attitudes to tourism impacts. A questionnaire is self-administered to local residents using a systematic sampling method in Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. The results indicate community satisfaction and government trust are core factors of support for tourism development. The study highlights that to attain community satisfaction and government trust, the policy makers should especially increase positive socio-cultural and environmental impacts and minimize negative economic impacts on the community simultaneously.

The study aims to identify residents' perceptions of tourism impacts according to the demographic characteristics. The analysis was based on 366 questionnaires given to residents of six rural communities in rural Korea. A series of data analysis such as factor analysis, t-test, and ANOVA was conducted to investigate the residents perceptions of tourism impacts. Results showed that whereas younger, less educated and poor could perceive a negative impacts. older, educated and richer were more likely to perceive a positive impacts of economic, social and environmental spheres. Especially male was more likely to perceive a positive socio-cultural impacts, whereas female was perceive a negative impacts. The results suggest that it is important for policy makers and community leaders to consider social-cultural and economic impact when decision making on development planning.

본 연구는 미국 South Dakota주 Black Hi11s 지역의 관광 영향에 대한 지역 주민 태도와 관리 정보를 얻고자 실시되었다. 관광 영향에 대한 지역 주민 태도를 평가하기 위하여 중요도-성취도 분석방법이 이용되었다. 총 184매의 응답 자료가 연구에 이용되었다. 회수율은 340 중 184매로 54%였다. 대부분의 응답자들은 관광의 지역 경제 영향에 대하여는 높은 긍정적 태도를 갖고 있었으며, 관광의 환경 영향에 대해서는 뚜렷한 부정적 태도는 보이지 않았다. 관광 영향의 23개 인자 중 거주 기간, 소득과 같은 응답자들의 사회 경제적 특성에 따른 유의적 차이가 일부 발견되었다. 중요도-성취도 평가 결과 유용한 장래 관리의사 정보가 제시되었다.

본 연구는 국립공원 지정과 앞으로의 관리방향에 대한 지역주민의 태도와 환경적, 경제적, 사회문화적 관광영향에 대한 지역주민의 지각을 파악하고, 지역주민의 사회경제적 특성에 따른 관광영향 지각 차이를 검증하였다. 1997년 11월과 12월 동안 설악산 국립공원 경계 내에 거주하는 지역주민 153명의 설문자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 지역주민들은 긍정적, 부정적인 환경적, 경제적 관광영향을 모두 지각하는 한편, 사회적 관광영향에 대해서는 크게 지각하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 관광의 부정적인 영향 지각에도 불구하고 더 집중적인 편광개발을 선호하며 설악산 보전을 위한 이용자 수 제한에는 반대하는 입장을 표명하였다. 관광영향에 대한 지역주민의 지각은 연령, 학력, 직업과 관광의 관련 여부, 거주지, 거주기간 등의 사회경제적 특성에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다.

관광은 세계적으로 급속도로 성장하는 가장 큰 산업 중의 하나이며, 수많은 개도국과 선진국들에서도 중추 산업으로 자리 잡고 있으며, 많은 국가에 있어서 자국의 소득수입, 일자리창출, 국가재정 수입의 중요한 원천으로 역할을 하고 있다. 그러나 이처럼 관광산업의 급격한 확대로 인하여, 여러 관광지역에서 환경파괴적인 측면과 사회문화적인 측면의 영향을 야기해 왔다. 관광과 마찬가지로, 크루즈관광의 급속한 성장 또한 크루즈선 기항지지역의 환경적 문화적 자원에 큰 영향을 주었다. 본 연구를 통해서 연구자는 지속가능한 관광인프라를 구축하는데 있어서 크루즈관광으로 인해 발생되는 국내외적인 환경적인 영향을 최소화시킬 수 있는 방안을 고찰하는데 논의의 초점을 두고자하였다.

The study examines economic and environmental impacts of mass tourism on regional tourism destinations, particularly the establishment of "Ten New Bali", in Indonesia. The sample is restricted to the period of time in which annual data is available and comparable among variables from 1980 to 2015 (36 observations). All of the time series data was collected and retrieved from the World Development Indicator database published by the World Bank. This study applies cointegrating regression analysis using the fully modified OLS, canonical cointegrating regression, and dynamic OLS. The results of the study suggest that 1) there is a long-run equilibrium relationship between tourism receipts, environmental degradation and economic growth in Indonesia, 2) tourism growth and agriculture land growth are positively related to an increase of total output in the short-run in Indonesia, and 3) arable land is significant at the 0.01 level, but forest rents and CO2 from transport are not significant in the short-run in Indonesia. The results confirm that arable land is negatively related to an increase of total output in Indonesia. That is, when tourism growth in the economy is getting realized it shows that the environmental degradation increases greatly in inverse in the model, eventually negative impacts to the environment.

Re-visitation have an effect on dependent variables of regional tourism demand model. This study focused on the re-visitation impacts of consideration on sustainable tourism development of tourists as a new factors of tourism. Based on literature reviews, 11 variables were selected, a questionnaire survey was given to 406 tourists divided into 5 tourism sites at Chuncheon city, and logit model and probit model were used for analysis. The fitness levels of two models were very significant(p=0.0000). The study results suggest that the likelihood of the rural tourist to make a return visit is influenced by recognition of sustainable tourism, purchase of souvenir and farm produce, visitation of regional shops, conversation with regional residents, residents' participation on development, age and marriage. The results of such re-visitation demand can provide information for regional development strategies. The approach to re-visitation research impacts of consideration on sustainable tourism development is expected to become a useful foundation in studying on sustainable regional development.

이 연구에서는 지역축제가 지역에 미치는 영향에 대한 주민의 지각을 관광관련 여부에 따른 집단 간의 차이를 중심으로 분석하여 사회교환이론의 적응가능성을 확인하고 향후 지속가능한 지역축제 개발을 위한 정책 및 마케팅의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 금산 인삼축제의 개최에 대한 관광산업관련 여부에 따른 지역주민의 지각차이 검증 결과 관광산업 관련 집단의 긍정적 축제영향은 보다 긍정적으로 지각하고 부정적 축제영향은 덜 부정적으로 지각하는 것으로 밝혀졌는데 이는 사회교환이론의 관점에서 사회적 비용보다 편익이 더 많은 것으로 지각하는 것이라고 할 수 있으며, 또한 소위 부담 보다는 보수가 더 높은 것으로 지각한 결과라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 지역축제 개최시 관광산업 관련 여부에 따른 지역주민의 지각차이를 감안하여 차별화된 지역 사회의 관심과 협력을 각각 별도로 수용하여 축제의 기획과 관리에 반영할 필요가 있을 것이다. 추후 지역축제에 대한 지역주민의 영향지각에 대한 조사를 지속적으로 실시하고 그 결과에 대한 세심한 모니터링을 함으로서 향후 지속가능한 축제가 성공적으로 진행될 수 있을 것이다.

This study evaluates the economic impacts of regional festivals and cultural events by utilizing regional input-output models of Seosan and Chungnam, which are derived by using a location-quotient approach. Tourism industry has modest forward and backward linkages with other industries, but its impacts on regional income and employment are much larger than other industries including manufacturing industry. Strong impacts on income and employment seem to provide rational for promoting tourism industry in Seosan and Chungnam. The Seosan Migratory Bird Festival increased city outputs approximately by 3929 million Won, increased employment by 56 people, and increased total income of the province by 774 million Won. All of the economic impacts were mostly concentrated in service related industries,

The impacts that AI and robotics systems can and will have on our everyday lives are already making themselves manifest. However, there is a lack of research on the ethical impacts and means for amelioration regarding AI and robotics within tourism and hospitality. Given the importance of designing technologies that cross national boundaries, and given that the tourism and hospitality industry is fundamentally predicated on multicultural interactions, this is an area of research and application that requires particular attention. Specifically, tourism and hospitality have a range of context-unique stakeholders that need to be accounted for in the salient design of AI systems is to be achieved. This paper adopts a stakeholder approach to develop the conceptual framework to centralize human values in designing and deploying AI and robotics systems in tourism and hospitality. The conceptual framework includes several layers - 'Human-human-AI' interaction level, direct and indirect stakeholders, and the macroenvironment. The ethical issues on each layer are outlined as well as some possible solutions to them. Additionally, the paper develops a research agenda on the topic.
