Development of Piezoelectric Motor Using Momentum Generated by bimorph (바이모프의 생성 운동량을 이용한 압전 모터의 개발)

  • In many applications, piezoelectric motor has been used in the areas where excellent controllability, fine position resolution are required or magnetic field noise should be eliminated. However the piezoelectric motor has two major demerits. One is difficulty in maintaining vibration amplitude constantly with temperature rise and wear, and the other is heat generation induced by dielectric and mechanical loss. In this thesis, piezoelectric motor to overcome these problems is proposed. And proposed piezoelectric motor is operated using momentum exchange between bimorph and rotor. To maximize steady state velocity and static torque of proposed motor, the guideline is established using two bimorph models. Then the guideline is partially proved by comparison between simulation and experiment. There was no heat generation in the few hours of experiments.

Robust Fault-Tolerant Control for Robotic Systems

  • In this paper, a robust fault-tolerant control scheme for robot manipulators overcoming actuator failures is presented. The joint(or actuator) fault considered in this paper is the free-swinging joint failure and causes the loss of torque on a joint. The presented fault-tolerant control framework includes a normal control with normal(non-failed) operation, a fault detection and a fault-tolerant control to achieve task completion. For both no uncertainty case and uncertainty case, a stable normal con-troller and an on-line fault detection scheme are presented. After the detection and identification of joint failures, the robot manipulator becomes the underactuated robot system with failed actuators. A robust adaptive control scheme of robot manipulators with the detected failed-actuators using the brakes equipped at the failed(passive) joints is proposed in the presence of parametric uncertainty and external disturbances. To illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed fault-tolerant control scheme, simulation results for a three-link planar robot arm with a failed joint are presented.

  • Hermetic Compressor circulates refrigerant with constant flow rate regardless of operation condition. so, at the operating condition requiring low cooling capacity, too much refrigerant flow deteriorates seasonal energy efficiency ratio(SEER). In this reason, modulated compressor is needed to improve SEER. Among many types of modulated compressor, non-inverter type modulated compressor is required for its low cost and easy to development. In the modulated scroll compressor by bypass method, EER steeply decreases for many loss like re-compression, changes of volume ratio, decrease of motor efficiency by torque variation. So. the range of modulation ratio for optimized SEER must be selected accompany with air conditioner set development.

  • In steel plant, load torque of mill driver motor is changed periodically because working state and idle state are repeated and load current of working state is necessarily higher than rated motor current. The over current limiter is one of the basic thermal protection method from over heating. In this paper, we analyzed the structure of over current limiter for motor and motor driver systems, developed over current limiter with same operation and structured warning system of action of over current limiter. As using this warning system, we can avoid abrupt plant stop by over current limiter in mill driver and lessen producing loss by plant stop. The developed warning system of action of over current limiter is exactly inspected by computer simulation md analysis of acquired data.

  • Voltage unbalance is generated by the load and impedance mismatching at the 3-phase 4-wire system of customer load. Voltage unbalance factor can be changed by the voltage amplitude or phase angle, and both. A small voltage unbalance is connected to high current unbalance. If the voltage unbalance is generated at the joint system of 1-phase and 3-phase load, Induction motor due to the current unbalance increase is generated loss, noise and torque ripple.   • Recently, owing to environmental problems and instability of rare earth resources market, non-rare earth electric motors are attracting attention. As a non-rare earth motor type, a wound rotor synchronous motor(WRSM) has high power density and wide driving range further it can reduce loss by field current control during field weakening control at high speed. However, since the d-axis flux of the WRSM is coupled with the rotor circuit, the fluctuation in the d-axis flux linkage affects the rotor circuit, which causes ripple of the field current and torque. In this paper, we propose the field current ripple compensation method by injecting the feedforward voltage. the proposed compensating method was demonstrated by simulation and experiments.

  • In this paper, the 6-switch inverter for the Flux-Reversal Motor (FRM) has been presented and compared to the 4-switch inverter for the FRM, which is more popular in cost effective applications. To analyze the FRM, we adopted the two-dimensional time-stepped voltage source finite element method (FEM) that uses the actual pulse width modulation (PWM) voltage waveforms as the input data. As the FRM characteristic analysis of actual pwm voltage input, the torque ripples and iron losses (eddy current and hysteresis loss) of the FRM can be precisely calculated. With the simulated and experimental results, the performance and limitations of the 4-switch FRM which is the cost effective drive compared to the 6-switch FRM drive are provided in more detail.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도전동기의 토크 리플 및 스위칭 손실 저감을 위해 전압변조기법인 공간벡터변조(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation, SVPWM) 기법과 불연속전압변조(Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation, DPWM) 기법을 혼합하여 사용하는 새로운 변조기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방식은 지령전압이 최대인 부근에서 SVPWM 기법을 사용하며, 나머지 구간에서는 DPWM 기법을 적용한다. 전 구간 단일기법을 적용할 때와 비교하여 제안하는 방식은 토크 리플 및 스위칭 손실을 효율적으로 저감시킬 수 있으며 시뮬레이션을 통해 타당성을 검증한다.

Work Roll Diagnosis by Roll Life Prediction Model in Hot Rolling Process (Roll 수명예측모델에 의한 열연작업롤 진단)

  • It is important to prevent roll failure in hot rolling process for reducing maintenance coat and production loss. Roll material and rolling conditions such as the roll force and torque have been intensively investigated to overcome the roll failures. In this study, a computer roll life prediction system under working condition is developed and evaluated on IBM-PC level. The system is composed and fatigue estimation models which are stress analysis, crack propagation, wear and fatigue estimation. Roll damage can be predicted by calculating the stress anplification, crack depth propagation and fatigue level in the roll using this computer model. The developed system is applied to a work roll in actual hot rolling process for reliability evaluation. Roll failures can be diagnosed and the propriety of current working condition can be determined through roll life prediction simulation.

  • Cycloconverter used as a power conversion device in the speed and torque control system of AC machines has the advantage of a simple control and a large torque at low speed. In addition, because a rectifier, a DC link, and an inverter are not installed, this system is simple and suitable for large power system. If a power conversion device, which is currently used as a propulsion motor of large vessel, is changed into cycloconverter, the system is simplified and then the installation costs can be significantly reduced. However, conventional cycloconverter has the increased harmonics because the power loss is large and the waveform of output voltage is distorted, due to the high-speed switching of power semiconductor devices. In order to improve these shortcomings, this paper describes a phase shifting filter which is composed of two inputs with different phases in the primary side and one output in the secondary one. As the voltage waveforms with two different phases are added and transformed into the secondary side, these outputs are close to sinusoidal waves. Thereby the voltage waveforms, which are applied to the propulsion motors, are improved and total harmonic distortions (THDs) are significantly reduced.
