  • To compensate for limited the satisfaction survey currently conducted by Korea Metrological Administration (KMA), a sentiment analysis via a social networking service (SNS) can be utilized. From 2011 to 2014, with the sentiment analysis, Twitter who had commented 'KMA' had collected, then, using $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes classification, we were classified into three sentiments: positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. An additional dictionary was made with morphemes appeared only in the positive, negative, and neutral sentiments of basic $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes classification, thus the accuracy of sentiment analysis was improved. As a result, when sentiments were classified with a basic $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes classification, the training data were reproduced about 75% accuracy rate. Whereas, when classifying with the additional dictionary, it showed 97% accuracy rate. When using the additional dictionary, sentiments of verification data was classified with about 75% accuracy rate. Lower classification accuracy rate would be improved by not only a qualified dictionary that has increased amount of training data, including diverse keywords related to weather, but continuous update of the dictionary. Meanwhile, contrary to the sentiment analysis based on dictionary definition of individual vocabulary, if sentiments are classified into meaning of sentence, increased rate of negative sentiment and change in satisfaction could be explained. Therefore, the sentiment analysis via SNS would be considered as useful tool for complementing surveys in the future.

  • In order to develop the aerosol bolus technique which is thought to be a potential tool for probing geometries or abnormalities of small airways, an experimental system of measuring fast time variations of particle concentration in the inhaled and exhaled breathing air was developed. The system generates monodisperse sebacic acrid particles of 1 micron size and 1.2 of geometric standard deviation in high concentration of $10^8$ particles/cc, delivers a short pulse of particles at the controlled instant during inhalation using a solenoid valve, and measures the fast change of particle concentration in using the laser light scattering. Successful operation of the generator and the measuring system was confirmed by smooth concentration profiles in inhalation. It was also confirmed that maintaining a constant breathing rate is essential to stable outputs and any disturbance in flow rate near the mode (maximum concentration) induces a large number of spurious peaks in the exhalation. Experimental data without strict control of breathing flow rate showed a substantial amount of scatter. The measured results showed an improvement in scatter over the existing results. When compared with theoretical predictions from 1-D convective diffusion equation and other experiments, general characteristics of dispersion for several penetration depths showed a good agreement, but there exists some difference in absolute values, which is attributed to the difference in body conditions. Improvements are needed in the theory, especially in relation to correcting for the effect of breathing flow rate.

  • With the increasing events of natural disasters caused by unpredictable atmospheric movements, the importance of weather forecasting is increasingly emphasized. In this paper, we adopt satellite radar imageries to deal with unusual weather events over Korean region including yellow sand that swept over Korea in spring 2007 and typhoon EWNIAR in 2006. Korea has suffered from these natural events with increasing frequencies over last decades and the satellite radar imaging is considered the most appropriate method to track and analyze the characteristics of the events spanning from mainland China to Japan. The yellow sand mostly comes from Manju area in China and consists of tiny particles so that they move with high speed resulting in difficulty in predicting their moving paths. With the use of various radar images taken at regular time intervals, we could possibly derive the expected movement of the yellow sand particles. In the future, with the help of radar images taken at very short intervals, satellite radar image analysis will become a very useful tool to predict and prepare for the natural disastrous events caused by abrupt change in the atmosphere and deserts around Korea.

  • This study was a pilot test of serious educational game content(named Roly Poly 160) designed to enhance self-care by elderly diabetics. Roly Poly 160 was developed in eight steps (literature review, demand survey and consultation, extraction of serious content using games, development of Roly Poly 160, pretest for users, workshop for health care workers, final completion of Roly Poly 160 and user satisfaction survey of Roly Poly 160). Roly Poly 160 is intuitively structured in three modules (self-management, card games, and quiz games) that can be self-managed by the elderly and is designed based on six principles. First, we constructed an intuitive interface considering the age of users. Second, the menu was selected as the main menu for Koreans and calorie learning was made at the same time. Third, the calories and nutrients (carbohydrate, fat, protein, calcium, sodium) of selected foods are analyzed, and all test data recorded in the questionnaire chart are graphically displayed by year, month and week so that the change trends can be grasped at a glance. Fourth, necessary data were saved and output and used as educational data. Fifth, user data are made compatible and aggregated and up to 100 million members can be registered. Sixth, it is designed to be developed as a mobile app if necessary. Using Roly Poly 160, 119 diabetic patients were diagnosed with diabetes, and the satisfaction score was 4.26 out of 5. These findings indicate that Roly Poly 160 is appropriate as a diabetes self-care tool and suggests that there is a possibility to use it as a program to educate people about diabetes in public health centers, hospitals and clinics.

  • This study analyzed the customer's revisit concepts and storytelling by restaurant customers to identify the elements that can attract the attention of customers. The restaurant concept or advertising, restaurant decor will also have to change to emphasize the comparative advantage of the features in the menu of a restaurant or other restaurants / service that tells a story. Membership cards or money, or the same convenience and use of the restaurant non-monetary 'transition cost' can compensate for the negative emotions and low satisfaction level of restaurant customers and help them choose to revisit the restaurant. Therefore, if such a transition takes full account of the effects of the cost to the customer, it can be used as an effective means. In class restaurants, such as the food and customer service, the increased levels of the restaurant atmosphere and empirical elements, such as store concept and physical environment, can improve the positive consumer sentiment, strengthen the customer satisfaction and have a positive effect on the customers' revisit intention. It is also important to improve the level of visual texture using light. In addition, positive consumer sentiment can be induced using the store concept, the physical environment, and experiential elements. In other words, membership cards, mileage points, and various financial and non-financial inducements as a marketing tool will have a positive impact on the customer's revisit intention.

  • To protect skin problems, new natural material alternative to synthetic antioxidants has been extensively selected from natural sources such as plants, animals, and microorganisms. Poncirus trifoliata of those has been widely used as treatment of allergy, chronic inflammatory diseases, and natural antioxidant. In recent days, microbial fermentation to natural products has been reported to increase feasibly their bioavailability. Accordingly, we performed the fermentation using hot water extract of Poncirus trifoliata by isolated Leuconostocs sp. strain JYK and investigated the change of antioxidative activity. Antioxidative material such as hesperidine naringine, imperatorin, and luteolin was found in hot water extract of Poncirus trifoliata. Total phenolics compounds and flavoniods in hot water extract were $71.2{\pm}4.58GAE(mg/g)$ and $25.1{\pm}4.12$ hesperidine(mg/g), respectively. After fermentation, their values were $89.2{\pm}13.47GAE(mg/g)$ and $31.0{\pm}4.06$ hesperidine(mg/g), respectively. After fermentation, ABTS[2,2-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)] and DPPH(1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical were highly enhanced from $70.2{\pm}9.01$ to $86.2{\pm}3.72$ and $18.7{\pm}1.81$ to $26.6{\pm}4.06$, respectively. Thus microbial fermentation offers a tool to further increase the bioactive potential of Poncirus trifoliata.

  • Purpose - The development and implementation of OSS (Open Source Software) led to a dramatic change in corporate IT infrastructure, from system server to smart phone, because the performance, reliability, and security functions of OSS are comparable to those of commercial software. Today, OSS has become an indispensable tool to cope with the competitive business environment and the constantly-evolving IT environment. However, the use of OSS is insufficient in small and medium-sized companies and software houses. This study examines the need for OSS Intermediaries in the Software Distribution Channel. It is expected that the role of the OSS Intermediary will be reduced with the improvement of the distribution process. The purpose of this research is to prove that OSS Intermediaries increase the efficiency of the software distribution market. Research design, Data, and Methodology - This study presents the analysis of data gathered online to determine the extent of the impact of the intermediaries on the OSS market. Data was collected using an online survey, conducted by building a personal search robot (web crawler). The survey period lasted 9 days during which a total of 233,021 data points were gathered from sourceforge.net and Apple's App store, the two most popular software intermediaries in the world. The data collected was analyzed using Google's Motion Chart. Results - The study found that, beginning 2006, the production of OSS in the Sourceforge.net increased rapidly across the board, but in the second half of 2009, it dropped sharply. There are many events that can explain this causality; however, we found an appropriate event to explain the effect. It was seen that during the same period of time, the monthly production of OSS in the App store was increasing quickly. The App store showed a contrasting trend to software production. Our follow-up analysis suggests that appropriate intermediaries like App store can enlarge the OSS market. The increase was caused by the appearance of B2C software intermediaries like App store. The results imply that OSS intermediaries can accelerate OSS software distribution, while development of a better online market is critical for corporate users. Conclusion - In this study, we analyzed 233,021 data points on the online software marketplace at Sourceforge.net. It indicates that OSS Intermediaries are needed in the software distribution market for its vitality. It is also critical that OSS intermediaries should satisfy certain qualifications to play a key role as market makers. This study has several interesting implications. One implication of this research is that the OSS intermediary should make an effort to create a complementary relationship between OSS and Proprietary Software. The second implication is that the OSS intermediary must possess a business model that shares the benefits with all the participants (developer, intermediary, and users). The third implication is that the intermediary provides an OSS of high quality like proprietary software with a high level of complexity. Thus, it is worthwhile to examine this study, which proves that the open source software intermediaries are essential in the software distribution channel.

  • Changes in the metabolite profiles of Lactobacillus sakei and its growth media, based on different culture times (0, 6, 12, and 24 h), were investigated using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (MS) and liquid chromatography-MS with partial least squares discriminant analysis, in order to understand the growth characteristics of this organism. Cell and media samples of L. sakei were significantly separated on PLS-DA score plots. Cell and media metabolites, including sugars, amino acids, and organic acids, were identified as major metabolites contributing to the difference among samples. The alteration of cell and media metabolites during cell growth was strongly associated with energy production. Glucose, fructose, carnitine, tryptophan, and malic acid in the growth media were used as primary energy sources during the initial growth stage, but after the exhaustion of these energy sources, L. sakei could utilize other sources such as trehalose, citric acid, and lysine in the cell. The change in the levels of these energy sources was inversely similar to the energy production, especially ATP. Based on these identified metabolites, the metabolomic pathway associated with energy production through lactic acid fermentation was proposed. Although further studies are required, these results suggest that MS-based metabolomic analysis might be a useful tool for understanding the growth characteristics of L. sakei, the most important bacterium associated with meat and vegetable fermentation, during growth.

  • To develop a more efficient computer-based empathy program that enables medical students to increase their empathy levels, and to test its applicability to medical students. We developed PACP (the Pain Assessment Computer Program) for measurement of medical students' levels of recognition of another's pain. An empathy questionnaire was administered to 145 medical students before and after the PACP. In the high empathy group, the scores for cognitive empathy increased significantly after completion of the PACP, while affective empathy scores showed no significant change. In contrast, in the low empathy group, both cognitive and affective empathy scores increased significantly after the PACP. The PACP effectively increased cognitive empathy for the high empathy group, and increased both cognitive and affective empathy, particularly for the low empathy group. Given the fact that existing empathy education programs are time-consuming and costly, and the demand for more efficient empathy education is high, the PACP as a useful tool can be applicable to medical students, particularly those with low empathy in order to enhance their empathic abilities within a short period of time.
