Piezoelectric composites of O-3 connectivity were prepared by thermosetting barium titanate-phenolic resin composite under various cruing pressure. Among three kinds of pore in O-3 type ceramic-polymer composite, such as matrix pores, particle pores, and ceramic-polymer interface pores, the effect of interface porosity on the dielectric and piezoelectric constant was investigated. In pure barium titanate ceramics, the porosity factor of dielectric and piezoelectric constants were 5.7 and 5.0, respectively. However, in BaTiO3-polymer composite, the interface porosity factor of the piezoelectric constant was greater than that of the dielectric constant, interface porosity factor b in d33 was 9.8 and in r 4.6. On the other, piezoelectric voltage constant g33 was independent of the porosity of barium titanate ceramics. But in composite system, the piezoelectric voltage constant g33 was decreased with interface porosity.

Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films were fabricated by the pulsed laser ablation deposition (PLAD) method onto Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrates. Crystalline phases as well as preferred orientations in PZT films were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The well-crystallized perovskite phase and the (101) preferred orientation were obtained by two-step annealing at the conditions of $650^{\circ}C$, 1 hour. It was found that the temperature for the pulsed laser ablated PZT films annealed via a two-step annealing process can be reduced 20$0^{\circ}C$ compared to that of the conventional three-step annealing temperature profile for enhancing the transformation of the perovskite phase. The remanent polarization and the coercive field of this film were about 20 $\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 46 kV/cm, while the dielectric constant and loss values measured at 1 KHz were approximately 860 and 0.04, respectively. The interesting phenomena of this film, such as vertical shift in hysteresis curve, are also discussed.
Lead titanate thin films were deposited on titanium substrates by a chemical vapour deposition(CVD) process involving the application of vapour mixtures of Pb, ethyl titanate( Ti($C_2H_5O_4$)), and oxygen. The lead titanate having a stoichiometric composition has a dc conductivity of $3.2{\times}10^{-12}{\Omega}^{-1}{\cdot}cm^{-1}$ at room temperature. The nonsaturating loops observed in present investigation may be attributed to the $TiO_2$ and TiO layers between the conductive substrate and the $PbTiO_3$ ferroelectric film. The ferroelectric properties of the stoichiometric $PbTiO_3$ film included a remanent polarization of 14.1 ${\mu}C/cm^2$ and a coercive field of 20.16 kV/cm.
Usually for the commercial preparation of barium titanate films or ceramics the reaction atmosphere must be preferably in air. However, normally air is not used because it contains carbon dioxide, which can easily react with barium to form the undesired product barium carbonate, leading to unwanted second-phase formation in the (mal stages of the process. In the present work a series of perovskite barium titanate films was prepared by the sol-gel method, using a metal alkoxide solutions in the electrophoretic deposition (EPD). The influence of several process parameters, like sintering temperature of sol preparation before EPD and heat-treatment temperature and non-oxidized atmosphere, on the film properties is described.
Lead titanate(PT) and lead magnesium niobate(PMN) ceramic powders were prepared by microwave hy-drothermal method using teflon bomb. Raw materials were Pb(NO3)2 and TiO2 for lead titanate and Pb(NO3)2 Nb2O5 and Mg(NO)3.6H2O for PMN with NaOH as mineralizer in both cases. in lead titanate synthsis rate of microwave hydrothermal method was faster three times than one f conventional hydrothermal methods In lead magnesium niobate synthsis the mixture of perovskite and pyrochlore phases was obtained by single step technique and the PMN was not obtained by double step technique due to low temperature limitation of teflon bomb.
Semiconducting Barium Titanate shows resistivity anomaly near the transition temperature 120.deg. C. Its transition temperature decreases about 6-7.deg. C per 1 mole % SnO$_{2}$, which is likely to compose (BaSb) (TiSn) $O_{3}$ structure by making Sn$^{+4}$ ions occupy Ti$^{+4}$ ion sites. Grain boundories, whose existance is the cause of having high resistivity in Semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ disappear due to the spontaneous polarization below the transition temperature, and it is believed that the phase transition makes semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ have resistivity anomaly at certain temperature. Temperature and frequency dependencies of resistivity are also investigated for practical application.ion.
Aluminium titanate (Al$_2$TiO$_{5}$) as structural ceramics is known as a low thermal exansion, a low thermal conductivity, a low Young's modulus, and excellent thermal shock resistant material. These properities allow for the testing as an insulating material in engines for portliner, piston bottom an turbo charger. However, those composites has low mechanical strength due to the presence of microcracks developed by the large difference in thermal expansion coefficients along crystallographic directions exceed the internal strength of material and its tendency to decompose into $Al_2$O$_3$ and TiO$_2$ at temperature below 130$0^{\circ}C$ limit however the application of aluminium titanate.e.
Rutile was among the first dielectric materials used. However, rutile exhibits a very high temperature coefficient of capacitance (about -750[ppm/$^{\circ}C$]) which resticts its practical application. Since this first use of titania, other materials have also been studied with the object of decreasing the temperature dependence whilst retaining favorable dielectric loss, Q, and relative permittivity. The temperature coefficient of temperature compensation capacitor is +100~750[ppm/$^{\circ}C$], dielectric constant 10~150. Low loss ceramics with dielectric constants in the 10~150 range also found application. Recently, their applications are extended in EMI filter and dielectric materials for microwave. There temperature coefficient of dielectric materials approaches 0[ppm/$^{\circ}C$]. The dielectric preperties of zirconia titanate ceramics prepared by addition of $Ta_2O_{5}$ were investigated.
In the present investigation, nanocomposite films with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a polymer matrix and barium titanate as a filler were prepared by solution casting method. Barium titanate nano particles were prepared using Ti(IV) triethanolaminato isopropoxide and hydrated barium hydroxide as precursors and tetra methyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) as a base. The nanocomposite films were characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM and dielectric spectroscopy techniques. Dielectric measurements were performed in the frequency range 100 Hz-10 MHz. Dielectric constant of nanocomposites were found to depend on the frequency, the temperature and the filler fraction. Dissipation factors were also influenced by the frequency and the temperature but not much influenced by the filler fractions. The 10 wt% of BT-PMMA nanocomposite had the lowest dielectric constant of 3.58 and dielectric loss tangent of 0.024 at 1MHz and $25^{\circ}C$. The dielectric mixing model of Modified Lichtenecker showed the close fit to the experimental data.
