Most of the companies are forced to cut down the manufacturing cost to survive in the competitive environment. Among others, material distribution cost alone takes substantial portion of the total manufacturing cost. In this study, we investigate the waiting phenomenon in the toll gate and propose a new toll booth layout to reduce the waiting time, thereby reduce the total material distribution cost. SIMAN, a simulation language, is employed to evaluate the proposed layout. The experimental results show that the layout reduces the waiting time significantly. Furthermore, the result indicates that determination of the intermediate buffer space affects the performance of the proposed layout.
The formation process of a current sheet is important for solar flare from a viewpoint of a space weather prediction. We therefore derive the temporal development of the spatial and statistical distribution of electric current density distributed in a flare-producing active region to describe the formation of a current sheet. We derive time sequence distribution of electric current density by applying a nonlinear force-free approximation reconstruction to Active Region 12158 that produces an X1.6-class flare. The time sequence maps of photospheric vector magnetic field used for reconstruction are captured by a Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) onboard Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO) on 10th September, 2014. The spatial distribution of electric current density in NLFFF model well reproduce observed sigmoidal structure at the preflare phase, although a layer of high current density shrinks at the postflare phase. A double power-law profile of electric current density is found in statistical analysis. This may be expected to use an indicator of the occurrence of a solar flare.

Wind-induced vibration of buildings with viscoelastic dampers are studied analytically. The added viscoelastic dampers change the damping distribution and reduce the response of buildings. The distribution of damping resistance that results from these viscoelastic dampers is known as non-classical or non-proportional. Non-classically damped structures are analyzed by state-space approach. However, this approach is complex and time-consumming compared to classical approach. This paper is aimed at the analysis of wind-induced Vibration Of buildings With Viscoelastic dampers. The Process Of State-Space approach is studied and the approximate analysis is suggested to overcome the complex and time-consuming access. For numerical certification, PSDF(Power Spectral Density Function) is obtained. Autocorrelation function is obtained in time domain and PSDF is obtained by fourier transformation of this function in frequency domain. It is found that Approximate method can give close approximation to exact solution.

Many characteristics of space charge in insulating materials which is the cause of insulation break down was measured quantita-tively. It was confirmed that injection charge of the electrode was trapped to form mainly space charge. In the present paper, collecting potential was determined by TSSP and mean depths of space distribution was investigated by measuring variation quantity of space charge under the different bias time, voltage and temperature. Experimental resuts was in good agreement with model analysis on a stedy state.

Recently, several studies have been conducted using state space model. In this study, a dynamic linear model with state space model form is applied to stock data. The monthly returns for 135 Korean stocks are fitted to a dynamic linear model, to obtain an estimate of the time-varying 𝛽-coefficient time-series. The model formula used for the return is a capital asset pricing model formula explained in economics. In particular, the transition equation of the state space model form is appropriately modified to satisfy the assumptions of the error term. k-shape clustering is performed to classify the 135 estimated 𝛽 time-series into several groups. As a result of the clustering, four clusters are obtained, each consisting of approximately 30 stocks. It is found that the distribution is different for each group, so that it is well grouped to have its own characteristics. In addition, a common pattern is observed for each group, which could be interpreted appropriately.

In this paper, we derive analytical expressions for the exact pairwise error probability (PEP) of a space-time coded system operating over spatially correlated fast (constant over the duration of a symbol) and slow (constant over the length of a code word) fading channels using a moment-generating function-based approach. We discuss two analytical techniques that can be used to evaluate the exact-PEPs (and therefore, approximate the average bit error probability (BEP)) in closed form. These analytical expressions are more realistic than previously published PEP expressions as they fully account for antenna spacing, antenna geometries (uniform linear array, uniform grid array, uniform circular array, etc.) and scattering models (uniform, Gaussian, Laplacian, Von-mises, etc.). Inclusion of spatial information in these expressions provides valuable insights into the physical factors determining the performance of a space-time code. Using these new PEP expressions, we investigate the effect of antenna spacing, antenna geometries and azimuth power distribution parameters (angle of arrival/departure and angular spread) on the performance of a four-state QPSK space-time trellis code proposed by Tarokh et al. for two transmit antennas.

In this study, we analyze a finite-buffer M/G/1 queueing model with randomized pushout space priority and nonpreemptive time priority. Space and time priority queueing models have been extensively studied to analyze the performance of communication systems serving different types of traffic simultaneously: one type is sensitive to packet delay, and the other is sensitive to packet loss. However, these models have limitations. Some models assume that packet transmission times follow exponential distributions, which is not always realistic. Other models use general distributions for packet transmission times, but their space priority rules are too rigid, making it difficult to fine-tune service performance for different types of traffic. Our proposed model addresses these limitations and is more suitable for analyzing communication systems that handle different types of traffic with general packet length distributions. For the proposed queueing model, we first derive the distribution of the number of packets in the system when the transmission of each packet is completed, and we then obtain packet loss probabilities and the expected number of packets for each type of traffic. We also present a numerical example to explore the effect of a system parameter, the pushout probability, on system performance for different packet transmission time distributions.

In this paper, a detailed investigation of the random vibration test is presented for strapdown inertial navigation systems (INS). The effect of the random vibration test has been studied from the point of view of navigation performance. The role of distribution functions and RMS value is represented to determine a feasible method to reject or reduce vibration related error in position and velocity estimation in inertial navigation. According to a survey conducted by the authors, this is the first time that the effect of the distribution function in vibration related error has been investigated in random vibration testing of INS. Recorded data of navigation grade INS is used in offline static navigation to examine the effect of different characteristics of random vibration tests on navigation error.

This paper presents performance evaluation of real-time mechanisms for real-time embedded linux. First, we presents process for implementing open-source real-time embedded linux namely RTAI and Xenomai. These are real-time extensions to linux kernel and we implemented real-time embedded linux over the latest linux kernel. Measurements of executions of real-time mechanisms for each distribution are performed to give a quantitative comparison. Performance evaluations are conducted in kernel space about repeatability of periodic task, response time of Semaphore, FIFO, Mailbox and Message queue in terms of inter-task communication for each distribution. These rules can be helpful for deciding which real-time linux extension should be used with respect to the requirements of the real-time applications.
Solar cycles are inherent to the Sun, which experiences temporal changes in its magnetic activity via the surface distribution of the solar magnetic field. This raises a fundamental question of how to derive the distribution characteristics of a solar-surface magnetic field that are responsible for individual solar cycles. We present a new approach to deriving as long-term and large-scale distribution characteristics of this quantity as was ever obtained; that is, we conducted a population ecological analysis of Wilcox Solar Observatory (WSO) Synoptic Charts which provide a more than 40-year time series of latitude-longitude maps of solar-surface magnetic fields. In this approach, solar-surface magnetic fields are assumed as hypothetical trees with magnetic polarities (magnetic trees) distributed on the Sun. Accordingly, we identified a peculiarity of cycle 23 with a longer period than an average period of 11 years; specifically we found that the negative surface magnetic field had much more clumped distributions than the positive surface magnetic field during the first one-third of this cycle, while the latter was dominant over the former. The Sun eventually spent more than one-third of cycle 23 recovering from these imbalances.
