  • This paper introduces the effect of grease on the degradation characteristics of bearings used as key components of packaging equipment and automation systems. Bearings parts are installed to fix and support the rotating body of the system, and performance degradation of the bearings has a great effect on the life of the system too. When bearings are used in various devices and systems, the grease is applied to reduce friction and improve fatigue life. Determining the type of lubricant (grease) is important because it has a great influence on the operating environment and lifespan and ensures long lifespan of systems and facilities. However, studies that simultaneously compared and analyzed the change in mechanical degradation characteristics and the comparison of chemical degradation characteristics according to grease types under actual operating conditions are insufficient. In this paper, three types of small harmonic drive, high-load reducer, and low-load reducer grease used in power transmission joint modules are experimentally selected and finally injected into ball bearings with a load (19,500N) to improve bearing durability. Degradation characteristics were tested by attaching to test equipment. At this time, after the durability test under the same load conditions, the mechanical degradation characteristics, that is temperature, vibration according to the three greases types. In addition, the chemical degradation characteristics of the corresponding grease was compared to present the results of mutual correlation analysis.

  • Nowadays, there is a high demand for great structural implementation and multifunctionality with excellent mechanical properties. The porous structures reinforced by graphene platelets (GPLs) having valuable properties, such as heat resistance, lightweight, and excellent energy absorption, have been considerably used in different engineering implementations. However, stiffness of porous structures reduces significantly, due to the internal cavities, by adding GPLs into porous medium, effective mechanical properties of the porous structure considerably enhance. This paper is relating to vibration analysis of fluidconveying cantilever porous graphene platelet reinforced (GPLR) pipe with fractional viscoelastic model resting on foundations. A dynamical model of cantilever porous GPLR pipes conveying fluid and resting on a foundation is proposed, and the vibration, natural frequencies and primary resonant of such a system are explored. The pipe body is considered to be composed of GPLR viscoelastic polymeric pipe with porosity in which Halpin-Tsai scheme in conjunction with the fractional viscoelastic model is used to govern the construction relation of nanocomposite pipe. Three different porosity distributions through the pipe thickness are introduced. The harmonic concentrated force is also applied to the pipe and the excitation frequency is close to the first natural frequency. The governing equation for transverse motions of the pipe is derived by the Hamilton principle and then discretized by the Galerkin procedure. In order to obtain the frequency-response equation, the differential equation is solved with the assumption of small displacement, damping coefficient, and excitation amplitude by the multiple scale method. A parametric sensitivity analysis is carried out to reveal the influence of different parameters, such as nanocomposite pipe properties, fluid velocity and nonlinear viscoelastic foundation coefficients, on the primary resonance and linear natural frequency. Results indicate that the GPLs weight fraction porosity coefficient, fractional derivative order and the retardation time have substantial influences on the dynamic response of the system.

  • In order to prevent shell sticking by providing sufficient lubrication between the strand and the mold, the mold oscillation has been used. Now it is well known that the shape of the oscillation curve has a decisive effect on the surface quality of the cast product. Besides, oscillation parameters such as stroke and frequency are also very important. In order to guarantee that parameters which have been found to be optimal for a certain grade of steel do not change with time, periodical checks of the physical condition of the whole equipment are necessary. The portable mold oscillation analyzer with integrated computer, developed by POSCO, records the movement of the mold in every spatial direction. The system uses the gap sensors to measure the mold movement (displacement ) in the two horizontal directions according to the mold narrow and broad faces and the vertical strokes in the four corners of mold. The gap sensor is a non-contacting minute displacement measuring device using the principle of high frequency eddy current loss. The mold oscillation diagnosis system integrates the gap sensors, their converters and the industrial portable computer with plug-in data acquisition boards. The all programs, such as the fast Fourier transformation module (amplitude and phase spectrums) and harmonic analysis module, was coded by LabVIEW$^{TM}$ software as the graphical language. In an own 'expert module' which is included in the diagnosis program, one can obtain much information about the mold oscillation equipment.

  • This study investigates the transitional aspect of vowel harmony in Korean verbal conjugation. By observing the patterns of harmonic and disharmonic tokens of 42 verbal stems searched for in the National Institute of Korean Language (NIKL) Korean Dialogue Corpus 2020/2021, I found that disharmonic tokens appeared less than 0.1% of time, most of which consisted of an /a/-stem with a monosyllabic sentence-final suffix. It was noted that disharmonic pattern started to spread to other suffixes and possibly to /o/-stems. A simple perception test showed that the disharmonic forms might have originated from vowel reduction or undershoot. These results suggest that the ongoing change is accounted for from both the articulatory and perceptual perspectives.

  • This paper is motivated by the lack of studies relating to vibration and nonlinear resonance of fluid-conveying cantilever porous GPLR pipes with fractional viscoelastic model resting on nonlinear foundations. A dynamical model of cantilever porous Graphene Platelet Reinforced (GPLR) pipes conveying fluid and resting on nonlinear foundation is proposed, and the vibration, natural frequencies and primary resonant of such system are explored. The pipe body is considered to be composed of GPLR viscoelastic polymeric pipe with porosity in which Halpin-Tsai scheme in conjunction with fractional viscoelastic model is used to govern the construction relation of the nanocomposite pipe. Three different porosity distributions through the pipe thickness are introduced. The harmonic concentrated force is also applied on pipe and excitation frequency is close to the first natural frequency. The governing equation for transverse motion of the pipe is derived by the Hamilton principle and then discretized by the Galerkin procedure. • Recently, a lot of research has been done on the analysis of axial vibrations of homogeneous and FG nanotubes (nanorods) with various aspects of vibrations that have been fully mentioned in history. However, there is a lack of investigation of the dynamic internal resonances of FG nanotubes (nanorods) between them. This is one of the essential or substantial characteristics of nonlinear vibration systems that have many applications in various fields of engineering (making actuators, sensors, etc.) and medicine (improving the course of diseases such as cancers, etc.). For this reason, in this study, for the first time, the dynamic internal resonances of FG nanorods in the simultaneous presence of large-amplitude size dependent behaviour, inertial and shear effects are investigated for general state in detail. Such theoretical patterns permit as to carry out various numerical experiments, which is the key point in the expansion of advanced nano-devices in different sciences. This research presents an AFG novel nano resonator model based on the axial vibration of the elastic nanorod system in terms of derivation from large-amplitude size dependent internal modals interactions. The Hamilton's Principle is applied to achieve the basic equations in movement and boundary conditions, and a harmonic deferential quadrature method, and a multiple scale solution technique are employed to determine a semi-analytical solution. The interest of the current solution is seen in its specific procedure that useful for deriving general relationships of internal resonances of FG nanorods. The numerical results predicted by the presented formulation are compared with results already published in the literature to indicate the precision and efficiency of the used theory and method. The influences of gradient index, aspect ratio of FG nanorod, mode number, nonlinear effects, and nonlocal effects variations on the mechanical behavior of FG nanorods are examined and discussed in detail. Also, the inertial and shear traces on the formations of internal resonances of FG nanorods are studied, simultaneously. The obtained valid results of this research can be useful and practical as input data of experimental works and construction of devices related to axial vibrations of FG nanorods.

  • When the amplitude of the vibrations is equivalent to that clearance, the vibrations for small amplitudes will really be significantly nonlinear. Nonlinearities will not be significant for amplitudes that are rather modest. Finally, nonlinearities will become crucial once again for big amplitudes. Therefore, the concrete panel system may experience a big amplitude in this work as a result of the high temperature. Based on the 3D modeling of the shell theory, the current work shows the influences of the von Kármán strain-displacement kinematic nonlinearity on the constitutive laws of the structure. The system's governing Equations in the nonlinear form are solved using Kronecker and Hadamard products, the discretization of Equations on the space domain, and Duffing-type Equations. Thermo-elasticity Equations. are used to represent the system's temperature. The harmonic solution technique for the displacement domain and the multiple-scale approach for the time domain are both covered in the section on solution procedures for solving nonlinear Equations. An effective data-driven solution is often utilized to predict how different systems would behave. The number of hidden layers and the learning rate are two hyperparameters for the network that are often chosen manually when required. Additionally, the data-driven method is offered for addressing the nonlinear vibration issue in order to reduce the computing cost of the current study. The conclusions of the present study may be validated by contrasting them with those of data-driven solutions and other published articles. The findings show that certain physical and geometrical characteristics have a significant effect on the existing concrete panel structure's susceptibility to temperature change and GPL weight fraction. For building construction industries, several useful recommendations for improving the thermo-mechanics' behavior of structural concrete panels are presented.

  • High-order harmonic techniques can be used to recreate neutron flux distributions in reactor cores using the neutron diffusion equation. However, traditional source iteration and source correction iteration techniques have sluggish convergence rates and protracted calculation periods. The correctness of the implicitly restarted Arnoldi method (IRAM) in resolving the eigenvalue problems of the one-dimensional and two-dimensional neutron diffusion equations was confirmed by computing the benchmark problems SLAB_1D_1G and two-dimensional steady-state TWIGL using IRAM. By integrating Galerkin projection with Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) techniques, a POD-Galerkin reduced-order model was developed and the IRAM model was used as the full-order model. For 14 macroscopic cross-section values, the TWIGL benchmark problem was perturbed within a 20% range. We extracted 100 sample points using the Latin hypercube sampling method, and 70% of the samples were used as the testing set to assess the performance of the reduced-order model The remaining 30% were utilized as the training set to develop the reduced-order model, which was employed to rebuild the TWIGL benchmark problem. The reduced-order model demonstrates good flexibility and can efficiently and accurately forecast the effective multiplication factor and neutron flux distribution in the core. The reduced-order model predicts keff and neutron flux distribution with a high degree of agreement compared to the full-order model. Additionally, the reduced-order model's computation time is only 10.18% of that required by the full-order model. The neutron flux distribution of the steady-state TWIGL benchmark was recreated using the reduced-order model. The obtained results indicate that the reduced-order model can accurately predict the keff and neutron flux distribution of the steady-state TWIGL benchmark.Overall, the proposed technique not only has the potential to accurately project neutron flux distributions in transient settings, but is also relevant for reconstructing neutron flux distributions in steady-state conditions; thus, its applicability is bound to increase in the future.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analytically find the approximate supplement damping ratio of the viscous damper installed in self-centering (SC) single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems with maximum displacements that are similar to those of elasto-plastic (EP) SDOF systems. The behavior of an SC SDOF system under harmonic cyclic loading was first described. Then an analytical model that can capture the behavior of the viscously damped SC SDOF system was introduced. Analysis parameters that characterize the hysteresis of the EP and SC SDOF systems were chosen, and nonlinear time-history analyses were performed using 20 historical accelerograms. Most of the SC SDOF systems with viscous dampers with approximately 10-15% damping ratios presented mean maximum displacement values that were similar to those of the EP SDOF systems. To investigate in detail the seismic performance of both systems, three EP SDOF systems and six corresponding SC SDOF systems were selected. The analyses showed that all the SC SDOF systems eliminated the residual displacements after the end of their shaking, and that the SC SDOF systems with 15% damping ratios performed better than the EP SDOF systems in terms of maximum displacement and acceleration response.

  • This paper presents a new dual-loop Delay Locked Loop(DLL) to expand the delay lock range of a conventional DLL. The proposed dual-loop DLL contains a Coarse_loop and a Fine_loop, and its operation utilizes one of the loops selected by comparing the initial time-difference among the reference clock and 2 internal clocks. The 2 internal clock signals are taken, respectively, at the midpoint and endpoint of a VCDL and thus are $180^{\circ}$ separated in phase. When the proposed DLL is out of the conventional lock range, the Coarse_loop is selected to push the DLL in the conventional lock range and then the Fine_loop is used to complete the locking process. Therefore, the proposed DLL is always stably locked in unless it is harmonically false-locked. Since the VCDL employed in the proposed DLL needs two control voltages to adjust the delay time, it uses TG-based inverters, instead of conventional, multi-stacked, current-starved inverters, to compose the delay line. The new VCDL provides a wider delay range than a conventional VCDL In overall, the proposed DLL demonstrates a more than 2 times wider lock range than a conventional DLL. The proposed DLL circuits have been designed, simulated and proved using 0.18um, 1.8V TSMC CMOS library and its operation frequency range is 100MHz${\sim}$1GHz. Finally, the maximum phase error of the DLL locked in at 1GHz is less than 11.2ps showing a high resolution and the simulated power consumption is 11.5mW.
