The GaN/sapphire layered structure is a potential candidate for high frequency devices due to high acoustic velocity of sapphire. Generally, the GaN thin films are epitaxially grown on c, a, and r-plane sapphire substrates. In this study, wave equations of GaN/sapphire structure were calculated according to crystallographic relationship between GaN layer and sapphire substrate. On each plane, the shear velocity was changed by the kH of GaN layer and propagation direction on sapphire substrate. We found electromechanical coupling constant of r-plane was better than the others. As a result, elastic stiffness and electromechanical coupling constant of materials are affected by a cut and an orientation of substrate. GaN/r-plane sapphire structure is more advantageous for high frequency SAW devices.
This study investigates dynamic wetting behaviors of a water droplet placed on surfaces with different wettability and nano-structures. Hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties on as-received silicon wafers were prepared by fabricating thin films of hydrophobic polymer and hydrophilic nanoparticles via layer-by-layer coating. Dynamic advancing contact angle of droplets on the prepared surfaces was measured at various moving velocities of triple contact line with a high-speed video camera. As advancing velocity of triple contact line increased, dynamic advancing contact angle on the as-received silicon and hydrophobic surfaces sharply increased up to $80^{\circ}$ in the range of order of mm/sec whereas the SiO2 nanoparticle-coated hydrophilic surface maintained low contact angles of about $30^{\circ}$ and then it gradually increased in the velocity range of order of hundred mm/sec. The improved dynamic wetting ability observed on the nanostructured hydrophilic surface can benefit the performance of various phase-change heat transfer phenomena under forced convective flow.
The gas hydrate exploration using seismic reflection data, the detection of BSR(Bottom Simulating Reflector) on the seismic section is the most important work flow because the BSR have been interpreted as being formed at the base of a gas hydrate zone. Usually, BSR has some dominant qualitative characteristics on seismic section i.e. Wavelet phase reversal compare to sea bottom signal, Parallel layer with sea bottom, Strong amplitude, Masking phenomenon above the BSR, Cross bedding with other geological layer. Even though a BSR can be selected on seismic section with these guidance, it is not enough to conform as being true BSR. Some other available methods for verifying the BSR with reliable analysis quantitatively i.e. Interval velocity analysis, AVO(Amplitude Variation with Offset)analysis etc. Usually, AVO analysis can be divided by three main parts. The first part is AVO analysis, the second is AVO modeling and the last is AVO inversion. AVO analysis is unique method for detecting the free gas zone on seismic section directly. Therefore it can be a kind of useful analysis method for discriminating true BSR, which might arise from an Possion ratio contrast between high velocity layer, partially hydrated sediment and low velocity layer, water saturated gas sediment. During the AVO interpretation, as the AVO response can be changed depend upon the water saturation ratio, it is confused to discriminate the AVO response of gas layer from dry layer. In that case, the AVO modeling is necessary to generate synthetic seismogram comparing with real data. It can be available to make conclusions from correspondence or lack of correspondence between the two seismograms. AVO inversion process is the method for driving a geological model by iterative operation that the result ing synthetic seismogram matches to real data seismogram wi thin some tolerance level. AVO inversion is a topic of current research and for now there is no general consensus on how the process should be done or even whether is valid for standard seismic data. Unfortunately, there are no well log data acquired from gas hydrate exploration area in Korea. Instead of that data, well log data and seismic data acquired from gas sand area located nearby the gas hydrate exploration area is used to AVO analysis, As the results of AVO modeling, type III AVO anomaly confirmed on the gas sand layer. The Castagna's equation constant value for estimating the S-wave velocity are evaluated as A=0.86190, B=-3845.14431 respectively and water saturation ratio is $50\%$. To calculate the reflection coefficient of synthetic seismogram, the Zoeppritz equation is used. For AVO inversion process, the dataset provided by Hampson-Rushell CO. is used.

Spin coater is regarded as a major module rotating at high speed to be used build up polymer resin thin film layer fur bonding process of GaAs wafer. This module is consisted of spin unit for spreading uniformly, align device, resin spreading nozzle and et. al. Specially, spin unit which is a component of module can cause to vibrate and finally affect to the uniformity of polymer resin film layer. For the stability prediction of rotation velocity and uniformity of polymer resin film layer, it is very important to understand the dynamic characteristics of assembled spin coater module and the dynamic response mode resulted from rotation behavior of spin chuck. In this paper, stress concentration mode and the deformed shape of spin chuck generated due to angular acceleration process are presented using analytical method for evaluation of structural safety according to the revolution speed variation of spin unit. And also, deformation form of GaAs wafer due to dynamic behavior of spin chuck is presented fur the comparison of former simulated results.

This paper describes the influence of a polycrystalline (poly) 3C-SiC buffer layer on the surface acoustic wave (SAW) properties of poly aluminum nitride (AlN) thin films by comparing the center frequency, insertion loss, the electromechanical coupling coefficient ($k^2$), andthetemperaturecoefficientoffrequency(TCF) of an IDT/AlN/3C-SiC structure with those of an IDT/AlN/Si structure, The poly-AlN thin films with an (0002)-preferred orientation were deposited on a silicon (Si) substrate using a pulsed reactive magnetron sputtering system. Results show that the insertion loss (21.92 dB) and TCF (-18 ppm/$^{\circ}C$) of the IDT/AlN/3C-SiC structure were improved by a closely matched coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and small lattice mismatch (1 %) between the AlN and 3C-SiC. However, a drawback is that the $k^2(0.79%)$ and SAW velocity(5020m/s) of the AlN/3C-SiC SAW device were reduced by appearing in some non-(0002)AlN planes such as the (10 $\bar{1}$ 2) and (10 $\bar{1}$ 3) AlN planes in the AlN/SiC film. Although disadvantages were shown to exist, the use of the AlN/3C-SiC structure for SAW applications at high temperatures is possible. The characteristics of the AlN thin films were also evaluated using FT-IR spectra, XRD, and AFM images.
The Clay Statues of Donggwanwangmyo Shrine (Treasure No. 142) are highly damaged physical weathering which are crack, exfoliation. Pigment of surface are discolored by chemical weathering like dust. The result of ultrasonic velocity measurement, low velocity zone was measured the lowest part of Woojanggun Statue. Deficiency condition of pigment layer was evaluated quantitatively through infrared Thermography. As a result, exfoliation part was detected at high temperature. Making techniques of the Clay statues were identified by gamma rays, infrared TV, SEM. All Clay Statues were founded on wood base and joints of wood were fixed using thin iron wires. After wood base was twisted a straw rope, it was made by clay. Clay was blended with rice straw to prevention of crack and exfoliation. The upper side of clay layer was coated with Hanji(Korean handmade paper) and cotton in order to isolate the pigment layer.
High frequency SAW filters for cellular communications were fabricated by metallizing 36$^{\circ}$Y-X LiTaO$_3$piezoelectric substrate with IIDT type electrodes. It was found that the center frequency of the filter was lowered than as designed. In order to overcome such a drawback and enable a fine tuning of its center frequency, dielectric SiN$_{x}$ thin films were deposited on LiTaO$_3$substrate by PECVD as passivation layer and then frequency responses were also characterized. As a result, the center frequency of the filter could be shifted to a higher frequency with increasing the thickness of SiN$_{x}$ film, because SAW velocity increased with increasing the ratio of the thickness of dielectric thin film to wavelength. The insertion loss of the filter, however, became larger with increasing the thickness of SiN$_{x}$ film.

Cold gas dynamic spray or cold spray is a novel manufacturing method for coatings. Cold spray is a high rate and direct material deposition process that utilizes the kinetic energy of particles sprayed at high velocity (300-1,200m/s). In this research, a technique to repair the damaged mold by cold spray deposition and mechanical machining was proposed. An aluminum 6061 mold with three-dimensional surface was fabricated, intentionally damaged and material-added by cold spray, and its original geometry was re-obtained successfully by Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining. To investigate deformation of material caused by cold spray, deposition was conducted on thin aluminum plates ($100mm{\times}100mm{\times}3mm$). The average deformation of the plates was $205{\sim}290{\mu}m$ by Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). In addition, the cross section of deposited layer was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). To compare variation of hardness, Vickers hardness was measured by micro-hardness tester.

We present the peridynamic dynamic fracture analysis to solve impact fracturing of multilayered glass impacted by a high-velocity object. In the most practical multilayered glass structures, main layers are glued by thin elastic masking films. Thus, it is difficult and expensive to construct the numerical model for such a multilayered structure. In this paper, we employ efficient numerical modeling of multilayered structures with a nonlocal ghost interlayer model in which ghost particles are distributed between main layers and they are interacting with each other in peridynamic way. We also consider a simple nonlocal contact condition in peridynamic frameworks to solve impact and penetration of the high-velocity impactor to the multilayered structure. Finally we can confirm the fracture capabilities of the method using a multilayered glass model in which 7 glass layers and a single elastic backing layer are affixed by polyvinyl butyral films.
In the main target area of the block II, Targe-scale faults occur below the unconformity developed around 1 km in depth. The contrast of seismic velocity around the unconformity is generally so large that the strong multiples and the radical velocity variation would deteriorate the quality of migrated section due to serious distortion. More than 15 kinds of data processing techniques have been applied to improve the image resolution for the structures farmed from this active crustal activity. The bad and noisy traces were edited on the common shot gathers in the first step to get rid of acquisition problems which could take place from unfavorable conditions such as climatic change during data acquisition. Correction of amplitude attenuation caused from spherical divergence and inelastic attenuation has been also applied. Mild F/K filter was used to attenuate coherent noise such as guided waves and side scatters. Predictive deconvolution has been applied before stacking to remove peg-leg multiples and water reverberations. The velocity analysis process was conducted at every 2 km interval to analyze migration velocity, and it was iterated to get the high fidelity image. The strum noise caused from streamer was completely removed by applying predictive deconvolution in time space and ${\tau}-P$ domain. Residual multiples caused from thin layer or water bottom were eliminated through parabolic radon transform demultiple process. The migration using curved ray Kirchhoff-style algorithm has been applied to stack data. The velocity obtained after several iteration approach for MVA (migration velocity analysis) was used instead or DMO for the migration velocity. Using various testing methods, optimum seismic processing parameter can be obtained for structural and stratigraphic interpretation in the Block II, Yellow Sea Basin.
