A Study on the Characteristics of Low Temperature Calcined Paste for LCD Flat Light Source (LCD 면광원용 저온 소성 Paste 특성 연구)

  • BLU is a important part of the most representative LCD at flat panel display. In order to supplement the optical special quality which LCD cannot light itself, BLU is an essential property to supply with same brightness on the screen. In this study we have manufactured and characterized the low temperature calcined paste that can be used as a flat light source for LCD BLU. For the phosphor paste and intermediate paste, the low temperature calcined acryl resin was used as the binder. From the result of thermal decomposition measurement, residual carbonaceous materials was found to be less than 0.2wt% at $400^{\circ}C$.

  • 우리나라에서 원예생산시설의 형태는 아취형과 터널형이 '94년에 전체 시설면적 37,800ha중 98%를 차지하고 있고, 난방방법에 있어서는 무가온재배가 83%이고 가온재배가 16%로서 아직도 거의가 환경관리에 많은 인력을 요구하는 방식을 채택하고 있다. 그리고 농가인구에 있어서는 매년 감소하여 현재는 11%로 양적으로 줄었고 질적으로도 노동연령의 고령화로 점차 열악해지고 있으며 반면에 소비자의 수요욕구는 고급화하며 외국의 수입개방 압력은 높아져서 시설재배시 기계화와 정밀한 환경관리가 요구되고 있는 실정이다. (중략)

  • Management of indoor air quality of underground subway station is an important issue since the limited natural ventilation, limited sunshine incoming, and highly moistured atmosphere. The improvement in IAQ of platform is expected because most stations were installed with platform screen door currently, however, the poor air quality in tunnel might be affecting subway cabin indoor. In this study, we developed the air quality assessment model based on computational fluid dynamics. The geometry of air ventilation unit, seat, LCD monitors, and passengers were modeled using commercial software (Design Modeler) and fluid pattern and pollutants trajectories were analyzed by using CFX. We predicted the thermal comfort by predicted mean vote (PMV), distribution of CO2 and PM10 concentration. It is expected that this model can be used for the performance test of air cleaners which are under development.

  • Properties of carbon nano fiber (CNF) as field emitters were described. Carbon nano fiber (CNF) of herringbone was prepared by thermal chemical vapor deposition(CVD). Field emitters mixed with organic binders, conductive materials and were prepared by screen-printing process. In order to increase field emissions, the surface treatment of rubbing & peel-off was applied to the printed CNF emitters on cathode electrode. The measurements of field emission properties were carried out by using a diode structure inline vacuum chamber. CNF of herringbone type showed good emission properties that a turn on field was as low as 2.1 $V/{\mu}m$ and current density was as large as 0.15 $mA/cm^2$ of 4.2 $V/{\mu}m$ with electric field. Through the results. we propose that CNFs are suitable for application of electron emitters in Field Emission Devices.

  • A metal sheath provides a cable with electrostatic screening and a degree of magnetic screening. The presence of a screen on a cable also reduces the induction arising from the high-frequency components of transients caused by power-line switching and also induced transients from lightning strokes; such transient induced voltages are of increasing importance with the increasing use of miniaturized telecommunication equipment with very small thermal capacity. This paper describes electrostatic induction and electromagnetic induction caused by power interference. Also screening factors are proposed.

  • The aerosol pyrolysis technique was introduced to prepare the spherical phosphors for enhancing low-voltage phosphor efficiency. The density, the shape, and the crystallinity of phosphors were controlled by thermal decomposition temperature and phosphor annealing condition. The particle size was adjusted by the precursor concentration and reactor pressure. It was fond that the efficiency of phosphors synthesized in this work was superior to the commercial products at the low-voltage excitation by 1.5 times and the screen efficiency was also higher than that of any value reported in literature.

  • We synthesized highly aligned carbon nanotubes by thermal decomposition of acetylene gas using metal catalyst island. The alignment technique in this experiment is a very efficient method because it does not require any treatments before and after catalyst metal deposition. Alignment of nanotubes was dominated by the uniform diameter and the high density of metal catalysts. In the field emission test, the uniform emission spots on phosphor screen were obtained from the nanotubes in spite of non-aligned tube nature.

  • Recently, due to the launching of digital broadcasting service, a demand of PDP TV with large screen size is sharply rising. PDP power module is mainly divided into power factor correction (PFC) stage and sustaining power stage. Especially, sustaining power module has pulsating load characteristics. So, the hard switching at light load condition causes low efficiency and thermal problem. Therefore, a new power conversion circuit for sustaining power module of 60' PDP is proposed whose ZVS is obtained by additional ZVS tank. This paper presents properties of the proposed converter through mode analysis, numerical analysis. And a 900w prototype for sustaining power module of 60' PDP is produced to verify the analytic results. As an experimental results, ZVS is achieved from full load to 10% load variation and more than 92% of high efficiency is obtained at 10% load condition.

  • This study is regarding development of an index table for antomation of welding process in impeller fabrication. A PLC, which is widely used for automation in industry, was also adopted as a controller for the index table because of it effectiveness, easy maintenance and repair. The index table consists of centering jig, blade jig, workbench, driving system and a controller. A touch screen was also prepaired as a man-machine interface to provide convenience for workers. Water jacket was installed inside the workbench to reduce thermal stress come from the welding. Temperature of the water jacket was kept constant to cool an impeller main plate effectively. The index table developed in this study convinces that it reduces the total welding time by 50% compared with the conventional process without the table.

  • The characteristic of single wall carbon nanotube (SW-CNT) and herringbone nano fiber (HB-CNF) emitters was described. SW-CNT synthesized by arc discharge and HB-CNF prepared by thermal CVD were mixed with binders and conductive materials, and then were formed by screen-printing process. In order to obtain efficient field emissions, the surface treatment of rubbing & peel-off was applied to the printed CNT and CNF emitters. The basic structure of FED was of a diode type through fully vacuum packaging. Also, we proposed a new triode type of field emitter using a mesh gate plate having tapered holes and could achieve the ideal triode properties with no gate leakage currents.
