Submerged implants require secondary surgical uncovering of implants after healing period of 3-6 months. In surgical methods, there are surgical scalpel, tissue punch, electro-surgical, and laser-used uncovering, and so forth The objectives of this study are investigation and assessment of 1) thermal change in clinical application for uncovering of HA-coated implant and pure titanium implant irradiated by pulsed Nd-YAG, $CO_2$, and Er-YAG laser. 2) surface change of cover screws aaer irradiation using laser energy. The temperature of apex & side wall of implants were recorded at 10sec, 20sec, 30sec after 30sec irradiation to implant healing screw; 1) pulsed Nd-YAG laser; 2W, 20pps, contact mode 2) $CO_2$ laser; water-infused & non-water infused state, 2.5-3.5W, contibuous mode, noncontact mode 3) $CO_2$ laser ; non-water infused state, 3W, superpulse, noncontact. mode 4) Er-YAG laser; (1) non-water infused state, 10pps, 60mj, contact mode (2) water-infused state, 10pps, 60mj, 80mj, 101mj, contact mode. According to the results of this study, pulsed Nd-YAG laser is not indicated because of increased thermal change and pitting of metal surface of implant cover screw. By contrast, $CO_2$ laser & Er-YAG laser are presumed to indicate because of narrow range of thermal change & near abscence of thermal damage of metal surface. Dental laser is thought to be much helpful to surgical procedure when it is used as optimal power and time condition considering characteristics and indications of each laser. Further research is needed to verify that these techniques are safe and beneficial to implant success.
Loss of favorable habitats for species due to temperature increase is one of the main concerns of climate change on the ecosystem, and endangered species might be much more sensitive to such unfavorable changes. This study aimed to analyze the impact of future climate change on endangered wild animals in South Korea by investigating thermal sensitivity and vulnerability to temperature increase. We determined thermal sensitivity by testing normality in species distribution according to temperature. Then, we defined the vulnerability when the future temperature range of South Korea completely deviate from the current temperature range of species distribution. We identified 13 species with higher thermal sensitivity. Based on IPCC future scenarios RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5, the number of species vulnerable to future warming doubled from 3 under RCP4.5 to 7 under the RCP8.5 scenario. The species anticipated to be at risk under RCP 8.5 are flying squirrel (Pteromys volans aluco), ural owl (Pteromys volans aluco), black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius), tawny owl (Strix aluco), watercock (Gallicrex cinerea), schrenck?s bittern (Ixobrychus eurhythmus), and fairy pitta (Pitta nympha). The other 10 species showing very narrow temperature ranges even without normal distributions and out of the future temperature range may also need to be treated as vulnerable species, considering the inevitable observation scarcity of such endangered species.

We have investigated electro-optical characteristics in three kinds of twisted nematic (TN) cells on the polyimide surface. The threshold voltage and the response time of thermal stressed TN cells were same that of no thermal stressed TN cells. There were little change of value in these TN cells. On the other hand, transmittance of no thermal stressed TN cells were better than that of thermal stressed TN cells. Transmittances of TN cells on the polyimide surface decreased by increasing thermal stress time. Moreover, the residual DC of the thermal stressed TN cells increased as increasing thermal stress temperature and time. Therefore, thermal stability of TN cells were decreased gradually by giving high thermal stress for a long time.

PRAM (Phase change random access memory) is one of the most promising candidates for next generation non-volatile memories. However, the high reset current is one major obstacle to develop a high density PRAM. One way of the reset current reduction is to change the heater electrode material. In this paper, to reduce the reset current for phase transition, we have investigated the effect of heater electrode material parameters using finite element analysis. From the simulation. the reset current of PRAM cell is reduced from 2.0 mA to 0.72 mA as the electrical conductivity of heater is decreased from $1.0{\times}10^6\;(1/{\Omega}{\cdot}m$) to $1.0{\times}10^4\;(1/{\Omega}{\cdot}m$). As the thermal conductivity of heater is decreased, the reset current is slightly reduced. But the reset current of PRAM cell is not changed as the specific heat of heater is changed.

The objective of this paper is to investigate the thermal properties of TMA clathrate compound applicable to cold storage system for building air-conditioning. Especially, the test tube experiments are performed by comparing and analyzing the temperature of phase change, specific heat and subcooling characteristic according to the variation of density, temperature of heat source and charging quantity in TMA clathrate compound. The results are summarized as follows:1) $-15^{\circ}C$ is not proper as the temperature of heat source because the temperature of subcooling is above $8.3^{\circ}C$ 2) temperature of phase change is dropped as the temperature of heat source is lower, 3) the effect of subcooling suppression with about 8$^{\circ}C$ is confirmed when the temperature of heat source is $-10^{\circ}C$ in case of 26, 27, and 30wt%, while the temperature of subcooling is about $0^{\circ}C$ when the temperature of heat source is $-15^{\circ}C$ in case of 25, 26 and 30wt%. Thus, the effect of subcooling suppression is greater as the temperature of heat source is lower. Additionally, the concentrative study is needed on mass concentration causing the phase change without subcooling phenomenon when the temperature of heat source is $-15^{\circ}C$. Thus, it is concluded that TMA clathrate compound has enough thermal properties as the cold storage medium for building air-conditioning.

The objective of this paper is to investigate the thermal properties of TMA clathrate applicable to cold storage system for building air-conditioning. Especially, the test tube experiments are peformed by comparing and analyzing the temperature of phase change, specific heat and subcooling characteristic according to the variation of concentrations and temperature of heat source in TMA clathrate. The results are summarized as follows; 1) temperature of phase change is dropped as the temperature of heat source is lower, 2) the effect of subcooling suppression with about $9.3^{\circ}C$ is confirmed when the temperature of heat source is $-10^{\circ}C$ in case of 30wt%, while the temperature of subcooling is about $0^{\circ}C$ when the temperature of heat source is $-15^{\circ}C$ in case of 25, 29wt% and 30wt% . Thus, the effect of subcooling suppression is greater as the temperature of heat source is lower. Additionally, the concentrative study is needed on mass concentration causing the phase change without subcooling phenomenon when the temperature of heat source is $-15^{\circ}C$ Thus, it is concluded that TMA clathrate has proper properties as the cold storage medium for building air-conditioning.

In this study, a shape-stabilized phase change material (SSPCM) was prepared by octadecane and exfoliated graphite nanoplate (xGnP) in a vacuum, to improve thermal storage performance. The octadecane as an organic phase change material (PCM) is very stable against phase separation of PCM, and has the proper temperature range for thermal comfort in the building; and the xGnP is a porous carbon nano-material. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transformation infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR) were used to confirm the chemical and physical stability of the Ocatadecane/xGnP SSPCM. In addition, thermal properties were determined by Deferential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The specific heat of Octadecane/xGnP SSPCM was $14.1J/g{\cdot}K$ at $31.3^{\circ}C$. The melting temperature ranges of melting and freezing were found to be $26{\sim}35^{\circ}C$ and $26{\sim}19^{\circ}C$, respectively. At this time, the latent heats of melting and freezing were 110.9 J/g and 104.5 J/g, respectively. The Octadecane was impregnated into xGnP by as much as about 56.0% of the Octadecane/xGnP SSPCM's mass fraction.
Encapsulation of a paraffin wax core as a phase change material with polystyrene shell and the its thermal characteristics caused by the encapsulation were studied. For the nanoencapsulation, the miniemulsion polymerization method was selected. The factors affecting the thermal properties of prepared nanocapsule particles of phase change material were analysed in aspect of the structure of crosslinking agents, amounts of surfactant, ratio of paraffin wax to monomer, and hydrophilicity of initiators. It was assumed that Oswald ripening plays the most important role in the changes of particle size, particle morphology, and thermal capacity of nanocapsule core. It was elucidated that the thermal capacity was also dependent on the hydrophilicity and crosslinking density of polystyrene shell components.
Mathematical modeling and performance simulation results were shown for the solar thermal storage system which used heat pipe. The thermal storage system was composed of thermal storage tank and charging/discharging heat exchanger with one by the heat pipes. Heat pipe heat exchanger was attached to system, and could carry out charging and discharging to thermal storage tank at the same time. Height of the thermal storage tank was 600 mm, and that of the charging/discharging heat exchanger was 400 mm. Length of the heat pipe was the same as the total height of thermal storage system, and outer and inner diameter were 25.4 mm(O.D.) and 21.4 mm(I.D.) respectively. Diameter of the circular was 43 mm(O.D.), and fin geometries were considered as the design parameters. High temperature phase change material(PCM), $KNO_3$ and low temperature PCM, $LINO_3$ were charged to storage tank to adjust working temperature. Total size of thermal storage system able to get heat capacity more than 500 kW was calculated and the results were shown in this study. Number of heat pipe was required more than maximum 500, and total length of thermal storage system was calculated to the more than maximum 3 m at various condition.
This study recent changes in urban thermal environment caused by climate change generate diverse problems such as urban heat island effects, heat wave, and drought. Under this condition, with the increased perception and expectation of the quality of life, the urban citizens' desire for outdoor activities is increasing. This study conducted the thermal environment analysis focusing on the urban ecological park used by many urban citizens, and also suggested the renovation measures for urban ecological park considering the thermal environment. As the research site, the ecologically-favorable Gildong Ecological Pak with diverse space composition was selected.
