Purpose: This study aimed to introduce and elucidate changes in Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory and discuss its application to the field of nursing in South Korea. Methods: The changes in grounded theory by Strauss and Corbin were examined through a literature review of grounded theory from its inception. Results: Strauss and Corbin acknowledged their philosophical backgrounds of symbolic interactionism and pragmatism; however, their methodology based on positivism overwhelmed their epistemology and ontology. This inconsistency has been represented by the coding paradigm and the premise of "emergent from the data." In the revised version of Basics, Strauss and Corbin modified their theory to weaken the coding paradigm and strengthen the strategies for the development of substantive theory. Conclusion: Strauss and Corbin's revised grounded theory did not fully address the inconsistency of their epistemology and ontology between their acknowledgement and methodology. However, these changes constitute a meaningful step toward resolving inconsistencies and highlight the development of substantive theory. This has implications for Korean nursing researchers who have utilized methodologies in grounded theory with dogmatic approaches; grounded theory, with its evolving nature, is not a finalized method and calls for open approaches for the development of a grounded theory that fits Korean nursing.

This article focuses on the study of the buckling behavior of two-dimensional functionally graded (2D-FG) nanosize tubes, including porosity, based on the first shear deformation and higher-order theory of the tube. The nano-scale tube is simulated using the nonlocal gradient strain theory, and the general equations and boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton's principle for the Zhang-Fu's tube model (as a higher-order theory) and Timoshenko beam theory. Finally, the derived equations are solved using a numerical method for both simply-supported and clamped boundary conditions. A parametric study is performed to investigate the effects of different parameters, such as axial and radial FG power indices, porosity parameter, and nonlocal gradient strain parameters, on the buckling behavior of the bi-dimensional functionally graded porous tube. In this paper we study activity theory and Davydov's learning activity theory. We analyze brief history of activity theory in Russia, structure of human activity, and Davydov's studies in activity theory. Especially we analyze Davydov's 1st grade mathematics textbook, and try to investigate embodiment of Davydov's learning activity theory in his mathematics textbook.

This study simplifies the phenomenological theory of viscosity previously proposed by the present authors. This simplified theory has only two thermodynamic properties and one parameter, as opposed to its predecessor, which has many, allowing for easy calculation of the liquid viscosities. The viscosity of liquid metals, an excellent test for checking the validity of the liquid theory, can be calculated using the equation based on the simplified theory. The calculated results by the current theory turn out to be good for the liquid metals, including sodium, potassium, rubbidium, cesium, lead and mercury.

The study attempts to show that the theory of critical environmental variation quantum(CEVQ) has a sound logical basis and empirical support. It is well known that the theory of critical environmental variation quantum is derived from the theory of biological probability distibution function and the central limit theorem(CLT) in statistics. The study uses the case study of fisheries damages compensation caused br the public marine construction undertaken in the area do Anjeong Bay in the city of Tongyeong for empirical test of theory of CEVQ. The results shows that the CEVQ theory perfoms a good job in measuring quantatively fjsheries damages caused by outflow of cold water due to the operation of LNG company since 2002. Therefore the study proves that the CEVQ theory is a good theory having internal consistency and empirical applicability.

본 논문은 목록법의 이론을 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 목록의 기능을 분석해보고 이 기능을 효율적으로 성취시키기 위한 연구방법론도 규명하였다. 따라서 상기의 방법론에 따른 목록법의 이론은 어떻게 구축되었는가를 C.A Cutter의 '실용성이론', A. D. Osborn의 '목록법위기론'에서 분석한 조문준법주의 이론, 완전주의 이론, 서지학적 이론, 그리고 실용주의적 이론등 4가지 논리와 S. Lubetzky의 '목록법의 원리'와 그리고 S. V. Houten의 '목록법의 철기시대'에 나타난 목록법의 황금기, 목록법의 청동기, 그리고 목록법의 철기시대의 정신에 나타난 목록법의 이론을 비교분석하였다.

Five phase theory has significant effect on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which puts its emphasis on correlation and integrity. However, the five phase theory itself has a limitation that it cannot reflect the general correlation and special features of affairs. Traditional Chinese Medicine pertains the five organs to five elements, absorbing the essence of the five phase theory, and transcending the limitation of the five phase theory in practice. Therefore, Traditional Chinese Medicine and other traditional medicine theories can be called as "five viscera correlation theory". On the course of modernization of traditional medicine, the effects among the five viscera can be concluded to 3 correlations of promotion, coordination and inhibition, to illustrate the integrity and correlation theory of traditional medicine from different approaches.

An enhanced first shear deformation theory for composite plate is developed. The detailed process is as follows. Firstly, the theory is formulated by modifying higher order zigzag theory. That is, the higher order theory is separated into the warping function representing the higher order terms and lower order terms. Secondly, the relationships between higher order zig-zag field and averaged first shear deformation field based on the Reissner-Mindlin's plate theory are derived. Lastly, the effective shear modulus is calculated by minimizing error between higher order energy and first order energy. Then the governing equation of FSDT is solved by substituting shear modulus into effective shear modulus. The recovery processing with the nodal unknown obtained from governing equation is performed. The accuracy of the present proposed theory is demonstrated through numerical examples. The proposed method will serve as a powerful tool in the prediction of laminated composite plate.

This study is a study on applying the teaching-learning theory of education to military school education. For the purpose, the theories of constructivist, cognitive, and behavioral theories of teaching-learning theory are reviewed and applied to military school education. The application of teaching-learning theory to military school education suggested the application of constructivist, cognitive, and behavioral education methods to each core curriculum and OBC curriculum. In addition, Gagne's 9th instructional design model of teaching and learning theory was applied in school education design. Applying the teaching-learning theory of education to military, discussion of situation education is constructivist education method, L&T education is cognitive education method, mastery education is behavioral education method, teaching principle, applicable education method. Based on the teaching-learning theory presented in this study, it is expected that the design of military school education and the application of education method will achieve the goal of more effective military school education.

Nursing have been caught between the paradigm of medical science with a body part view of a person and the paradigm of medical science with an emphasis on unsurpassable control, rigor, objectivism, and neutrality of value. But it is inappropriate to apply impersonal, objective model of science for the personal unique and gestalt experiences of nursing phenomena. Jean Watson proposed a theory of human caring based on human science paradigm to explain human phenomena. This study reviewed the theory of nursing by Jean Watson and the researches based on Waton's theory. In this study the researcher examined the philosophical back ground, value system and key concepts of Watson's theory Watson's perspective of person and human existence includes humanistic and phenomenological characteristics. She also emphasized nurse-patient relationship as an intersubjective(transpersonal) caring relationship. Examination of the studies based on Watson's theory consistantly revealed Watson's theory of human caring based on the human science paradigm is more appropriate than traditional medical science paradigm for explaining nursing phenomena. For the purpose of refining the theory and promoting usefulness of the theory, it would be desirable to test the theory to the nursing phenomena and to apply the theory to practice and education.
