  • This study is an analysis on the focus of textbooks regarding the statistical chapters of "measures of representative(central tendency) and of the spread". Applying the summary-concept criteria of Juhyeon Nam(2007), 4 kinds of aspect of the chapter; (1) definition and its teleological validity of the measures of representative, (2) definition and practical value of the measures of spread (3) distributional form on the measures of representative and of spread (4) location and scale preservation or invariance of the measures of representative and of spread were observed. On the measures of representative, some definitions were insufficient to check the teleological validity of the measure. Most definitions of the measure of spread were based on the practical view points but no preparation for the future statistical inferences were found even by implication. Some books mention about the measures of representative and of spread for distributions, but we could not find any comments on the correspondence between the sample mean and the expectation of a distribution or population mean. However it is stimulant that some books check the validity of corresponding measures with the location and scale preservation or invariant property, that were not found in the previous curriculum.

  • In this paper, the geotechnical report of the Northern Fereshteh area in Tabriz is used and the characteristics of shallow foundation of a single pile and compared pile group and geogrid in terms of the settlement of a building foundation on clayey soil. Additionally, impacts of existing variables such as the number of geogrid layers, the length of the pile, and the depth of groundwater level affected by the dynamic load caused by the Taiwan Jiji earthquake via numerical analysis using PLAXIS software are examined. The results of fifty-four models indicated that the construction of a pile group with a diameter of 1 meter and a length of 14 meters significantly diminished the consolidation settlement of the soil in the Northern Fereshteh area, where the settlement value has been triggered by the load inflicted by earthquake. Moreover, the construction of four layers of geogrid at intervals of one meter led to a significant decrease in the settlement. Finally, after reaching a maximum depth, it had no reducing effects on the foundation settlement.

  • This paper uses the gravity model estimated by the random effect method to analyze the factors affecting Vietnam's coffee export turnover for the period 2007-2020 major markets according to statistics from the General Statistics Office and the General Department of Customs. Coffee export turnover was collected from the General Statistics Office, General Department of Customs, and Vietnam Cacao Coffee Association. The authors calculated the price of coffee based on output and export value from data on coffee export turnover; the authors calculated the economic gap based on population and Gross Domestic Product data (reference: geographic distance metrics on the website: http://www.distancefromto.net/countries.php) and other data was collected based on the databases of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, and World Bank organizations. The results of the study show that from 2007 to 2020, the factors of Vietnam's export price of coffee, geographical distance, Gross Domestic Product of the importing country and Gross Domestic Product of Vietnam, the population of Vietnam, the economic gap between Vietnam and the importing country, the openness of the economy, all have an impact on Vietnam's coffee export turnover. Finally, some conclusions about the policy's impact are made based on the empirical results of the paper.

  • This paper describes the effect of different testing parameters (configuration of infrastructure and truck position on road) on truck aerodynamic coefficients under cross wind conditions, by means of a numerical approach known as Large Eddy Simulation (LES). In order to estimate the air flow behaviour around both the infrastructure and the truck, the filtered continuity and momentum equations along with the Smagorinsky-Lilly model were solved. A solution for these non-linear equations was approached through the finite volume method (FVM) and using temporal and spatial discretization schemes. As for the results, the aerodynamic coefficients acting on the truck model exhibited nearly constant values regardless of the Reynolds number. The flat ground is the infrastructure where the rollover coefficient acting on the truck model showed lowest values under cross wind conditions (yaw angle of $90^{\circ}$), while the worst infrastructure studied for vehicle stability was an embankment with downward-slope on the leeward side. The position of the truck on the road and the value of embankment slope angle that minimizes the rollover coefficient were determined by successfully applying the Response Surface Methodology.

  • Employment of the wave propagation approach with the combination of Pasternak foundation equation gives birth to the shell frequency equation. Mathematically, the integral form of the Lagrange energy functional is converted into a set of three partial differential equations. A cylindrical shell is placed on the elastic foundation of Pasternak. For isotropic materials, the physical properties are same everywhere, whereas the laminated and functionally graded materials, they vary from point to point. Here the shell material has been taken as functionally graded material. The influence of the elastic foundation, wave number, length and height-to-radius ratios is investigated with different boundary conditions. The frequencies of length-to-radius and height-to-radius ratio are counter part of each other. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value in the midway of the shell length and then lowers down for the variations of wave number. It is found that due to inducting the elastic foundation of Pasternak, the frequencies increases. It is also exhibited that the effect of frequencies is investigated by varying the surfaces with stainless steel and nickel as a constituent material. MATLAB software is utilized for the vibration of functionally graded cylindrical shell with elastic foundation of Pasternak and the results are verified with the open literature.

  • In this paper we have examined the linear stability of triangular equilibrium points in the photogravitational restricted three body problem when both primaries are triaxial rigid bodies, the bigger one an oblate spheroid and source of radiation. The orbits about the Lagrangian equilibrium points are important for scientific investigation. A number of space missions have been completed and some are being proposed by various space agencies. We analyze the periodic motion in the neighbourhood of the Lagrangian equilibrium points as a function of the value of the mass parameter. Periodic orbits of an infinitesimal mass in the vicinity of the equilibrium points are studied analytically and numerically. The linear stability of triangular equilibrium points in the photogravitational restricted three body problem with Poynting-Robertson drag when both primaries are oblate spheroids has been examined by A. Kumar (2007). We have found the equations of motion and triangular equilibrium points for our problem. With the help of the characteristic equation we have discussed stability conditions. Finally, triangular equilibrium points are stable in the linear sense. It is further seen that the triangular points have long or short periodic elliptical orbits in the same range of ${\mu}$.

  • In this study, the impact of ring supports around the shell circumferential has been examined for their various positions along the shell axial length using Rayleigh-Ritz formulation. These shells are stiffened by rings in the tangential direction. For isotropic materials, the physical properties are same everywhere where the laminated and functionally graded materials, they vary from point to point. Here the shell material has been taken as functionally graded material. The influence of the ring supports is investigated at various positions. These variations have been plotted against the locations of ring supports for three values of length-to-diameter ratios. Effect of ring supports with middle layer thickness is presented using the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure with three different conditions. The influence of the positions of ring supports for clamped-clamped is more visible than simply supported and clamped-free end conditions. The frequency first increases and gain maximum value in the midway of the shell length and then lowers down. The Lagrangian functional is created by adding the energy expressions for the shell and rings. The axial modal deformations are approximated by making use of the beam functions. The comparisons of frequencies have been made for efficiency and robustness for the present numerical procedure. Throughout the computation, it is observed that the frequency behavior for the boundary conditions follow as; clamped-clamped, simply supported-simply supported frequency curves are higher than that of clamped-simply curves. To generate the fundamental natural frequencies and for better accuracy and effectiveness, the computer software MATLAB is used.

  • This paper is concerned with the vibration analysis of middle layer cylindrical shell made of functionally graded material. The outer layers and inner layer are composed of functionally graded and isotropic material respectively. The Rayleigh Ritz method is applied to solve the presented shell dynamics equations. Two configurations are constructed with layers distributions. Fundamental natural frequencies of the three layered cylindrical shell is plotted against the circumferential wave number with different power law exponents. The frequency decreases with the increase of power law exponent. The fundamental natural frequencies first decreases and fall down to its minimum value, after frequencies increases with circumferential wave number. This is due to change in the magnitude of extensional and bending energies of the cylindrical shells. The computer software MATLAB has been employed for the computation of presented frequencies and tested the results obtained in order to assess the accuracy and validity of the cylindrical shell model for predicting the vibration frequencies of cylindrical shell.

  • Buchmann and Williams[1] proposed a key exchange system making use of the properties of the maximal order of an imaginary quadratic field. $H{\ddot{u}}hnlein$ et al. [6,7] also introduced a cryptosystem with trapdoor decryption in the class group of the non-maximal imaginary quadratic order with prime conductor q. Their common techniques are based on the properties of the invertible ideals of the maximal or non-maximal orders respectively. Kim and Moon [8], however, proposed a key-exchange system and a public-key encryption scheme, based on the class semigroups of imaginary quadratic non-maximal orders. In Kim and Moon[8]'s cryptosystem, a non-invertible ideal is chosen as a generator of key-exchange ststem and their secret key is some characteristic value of the ideal on the basis of Zanardo et al.[9]'s quantity for ideal equivalence. In this paper we propose the methods for finding the non-invertible ideals corresponding to non-primitive quadratic forms and clarify the structure of the class semigroup of non-maximal order as finitely disjoint union of groups with some quantities correctly. And then we correct the misconceptions of Zanardo et al.[9] and analyze Kim and Moon[8]'s cryptosystem.

  • Risk-adjusted return is believed to be one of the optimal parameters to determine an optimum portfolio. A risk-adjusted return is a calculation of the profit or potential profit from an investment that takes into account the degree of risk that must be accepted to achieve it. This paper presents a new procedure in portfolio selection and utilizes these results to optimize the risk level of risk-adjusted Islamic stock portfolios. It deals with the weekly close price of active issuers listed on Jakarta Islamic Index Indonesia for a certain time interval. Overall, this paper highlights portfolio selection, which includes determining the number of stocks, grouping the issuers via technical analysis, and selecting the best risk-adjusted return of portfolios. The nominated portfolio is modeled using Quadratic Programming (QP). The result of this study shows that the portfolio built using the lowest Value at Risk (VaR) outperforms the market proxy on a risk-adjusted basis of M-squared and was chosen as the best portfolio that can be optimized using QP with a minimum risk of 2.86%. The portfolio with the lowest beta, on the other hand, will produce a minimum risk that is nearly 60% lower than the optimal risk-adjusted return portfolio. The results of QP are well verified by a heuristic optimizer of fmincon.
