Effects of Sexual Abuse Prevention Education Program on Sexual Knowledge and Attitude among Elementary School Students

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sexual abuse prevention education program linked to elementary physical and psychological development on sexual knowledge and attitude. Methods: The participants were the elementary school students of fifth and sixth grades in S city, South Korea (experimental, comparison, and control group=96, 96, and 74, respectively). The experimental group received sexual abuse prevention education linked physical and psychological development, 6 sessions (3 sessions are physical and psychological development educations and 3 other sessions are sexual abuse prevention educations). The comparison group received sexual abuse prevention educations, 3 sessions (the same curriculum of the experimental group). The control group didn't receive any sexual education. The data were analyzed by $x^2$ test and t-test, and ANOVA using the SPSS program. Results: The experimental group showed significantly better sexual knowledge and attitude than the comparison and control group. Conclusion: Sexual abuse prevention education program linked physical and psychological development is required for elementary school students, to improve the sexual knowledge and attitude.

대학연계형 은퇴주거단지의 계획 및 운영상의 특성분석 연구 - 미국의 사례를 중심으로 - (An Analysis of University-Based Retirement Communities' Architectural and Managerial Features - With a Focus on Two Cases in the United States -)

  • Many researchers addressed a strong need for providing diverse senior housing options to accommodate different demands from the growing senior population in Korea. One option can be the university-based retirement community (UBRC) which is linked to the adjacent universities and offers various physical, educational, and recreational programs for residents. The primary purpose of this study was to identify major features of the UBRC in terms of development, management, level of college participation, and types of care services for senior residents and to suggest future implementation directions in Korea. Two cases from the United States were selected and investigated to accomplish this goal. Main features of the UBRC were identified as follows: The university linked to each subject community was strongly involved in the development process. Their original residents were mainly recruited from university retirees. The strong university involvement became diminished as the retirement communities got settled down. This study analyzed these architectural, managerial, and development features and suggested future implication directions of university-based retirement communities in Korea.

Residents' Participation and Common Activities in an Intentional Community: The Case of the Mindlre Community

  • A new movement in forming community villages for better living standards is becoming popular. In order to sustain a proper community, it is essential to design proper community programs and facilities, which can encourage the proactive participation of residents. In this study, detailed aspects of the Mindlre (Dandelion) community (including formation process and management of the village) are investigated. The Mindlre community is a successful community village in Korea concerned with residents' participation and community activities. The community is located in Sancheong, Gyungsangnamdo province in Korea. The study methods are references, field trips, and interviews with residents. Six areas were surveyed and investigated: the physical environment of the Mindlre community and eco-friendly elements, respondents' background and the motivation to join, residents composition, residents' participation in the formation process of the community, self-management systems and common activities, and residents's life satisfaction. The mindlre Community was founded on Christian religions faith. The primary idea of this village was building a new hope for rural areas without discrimination. The size of the village was expanded with housing for teachers and students who were linked with the Mindlre School (substitution school). When the community was founded, existing shapes of the village were preserved. The village was physically renovated based on the original environment, in addition nature friendly materials and methods were used. The residents were proactively involved in the community through regular meetings, self-regulation, and community worship. Although the survey results should that most residents were highly satisfied with living standards, there seemed to be no clear division between community facilities and private houses. A systematic and detailed space planning technique was required. In addition, various community facilities are required due to the expansion of the community.

한국 공학계열과 비공학계열 진로 희망 고등학생들의 메이커 활동 선호 분야 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Maker Participation Patterns of High School Students in Korea Engineering and Non-Engineering)

  • In order to cultivate the talents acquired in the fourth industrial revolution, developed countries' government are actively engaged in the campaigns encouraging K-12 students to participate in the maker movement. Maker education is regarded as one possible solution based on high tech in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and it is spreading widely along with STEM education. In South Korea, STEAM education was actively conducted nationwide, and since 2017, STEAM and maker education have been linked showing mutual development. However, compared to STEAM education linked to the curriculum, comparison and activity-based research on maker education for teenagers is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to suggest implications for STEAM education and maker education by analyzing the motivation of Korean youth to participate in maker activities. The subjects of this study are high school students who participated in maker education programs in student community for the first time in Korea. In this study, students were classified into engineering-related career group and non-engineering-related career groups based on their career intentions, and the motivation and understanding of participation in maker activities were compared. As a result of the study, male students participated more in maker education community activities than female students, and the engineering-related career group had a higher intention to participate in games, outdoor activities, IT equipment, digital production, and electrical/electronic production activities than the non-engineering-related career group. In addition, in the fields of handicraft/art, home baking, installing, and horticultural agriculture, there was no difference in the intention of participate in the engineering-related career group and the non-engineering-related career group. It was found that the engineering-related career group believed that there was a strong relationship between the maker education community activity, career exploration and future career choice, while the non-engineering-related career group believed that the relationship is less strong. It was also found that the engineering-related career group was participating more actively in the maker activity than the other group.

청소년범죄에 대한 경찰활동 (Policing for Juvenile Delinquency in Korea)

  • 최근 들어 발생하는 청소년범죄를 살펴보면, 청소년들이 저질렀다고 믿기 어려울 정도로 잔인하고, 흉폭화되어 있으며, 지능화되어 사회에 심각한 물의를 일으키고 있다. 이러한 청소년범죄는 부모와의 관계 가정환경의 영향에 의한 가정적 요인과 학교생활의 부적응 비행친구와의 접촉에 의한 학교 요인, 주변유해 환경 지역 주변에 의한 지역사회적 요인에 의해 범죄를 저지른다고 하였다. 실제 통계자료에서 청소년범죄는 2005년을 기점으로 다시 증가하고 있으며, 날이 갈수록 저연령화 되어가고 있으며, 강력범죄로 증가비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 청소년범죄를 예방하기 위해서는 가정, 학교, 지역사회가 서로 협력하여 지속적인 대안 마련이 필요하다. 경찰은 법 제도의 정비를 비롯하여, 청소년 관련기관의 협력증대, 유해환경제거 활동 등과 같은 비행청소년 선도 프로그램을 개선해야 한다. 오늘날 청소년범죄는 단순히 경찰활동상의 문제가 아니라 학교-경찰 연계 프로그램, 지역사회-경찰 연계프로그램과 같이 종합적인 대책마련과 관계당국의 적극적인 의지가 필요하다.

일본의 교원연수 체계 연구 -'학교조직 매니지먼트' 연수를 중심으로- (A Study on Teacher Training System of Japan -Focused on 'the Training for School Organization Management'-)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 일본의 교원연수에서 중요한 '학교조직 매니지먼트' 연수의 운영방법에 대해 조사하였다. 학교조직매니지먼트 연수는 변화하고 있는 사회에 대하여 유연하게 대응할 수 있는 교원의 자질과 능력을 개발하기 위해 필수적인 연수의 체계이다. 기존의 학교장과 같은 관리직만의 문제라고 생각되었던 학교경영의 문제가 팀으로서의 학교를 지향하는 가운데 교직원 공동의 과제로 인식되고 있으며 이는 학교경영에 대한 인식의 본질적인 전환이다. 이 같은 변화는 학교 경영이 더이상 학교장만의 전유물이 아니며 학교 조직의 모든 구성원 나아가 지역사회의 구성원까지도 그 책임을 나누어 가져야 한다는 인식으로부터 시작되었다.. '지역과 연계한 학교', '정보가 열린 공개형의 학교' '교육과정과 새로운 수업의 방식에 대해 항상 생각하는 학교' 등 현재의 교육에 관한 문제에 대하여 해결하는 '학교조직매니지먼트' 연수는 이 같은 문제의 대안으로서 강조되고 있다. 지금은 복잡해지고 다양해지는 현 사회와 교육 환경에 적응하기 위한 교육과정의 개발 개혁과 함께 학교 조직의 변화를 생각하지 않으면 안 될 때이다. 그런 의미에서 새로운 기업가형의 학교조직 매니지먼트 연수는 이 시대의 요구에 적절히 부응할 수 있는 체제라고 할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The study is to analyze the role of highschool youth group in a rural regeneration project. The process of youth group becoming subjective in resident participation plan was classified into isolation reduction, self-awareness, perspective-taking, subjectivity practice, and opinion expression. Isolation reduction is a stage in which youth group is gradually drawn into the community from a limited society of home and school, self-awareness is a stage in which they discover their thoughts, and view perspective-taking is a stage in which they objectify themselves and surroundings through communication with other members of the region, social experiment was analyzed as a practice of subjectivity that experiences leadership guiding the local community independently, and expressing opinions is a stage of representing the region and giving responsibility for the specific issue of the implementation plan. The study is also an analysis of how residents committee, local governments, and local research institutes perform both regeneration and community revitalization in rural areas. Therefore, the analysis of the cooperative organization of these institutions was conducted simultaneously. The leadership program was effectively linked to the project of rural regeneration. Since high school students themselves are family members of the local people, the process of accepting the project is unaffected, and the feasibility of the project is also increased, such as forming a positive atmosphere for the project and easing resistance to minority opinions.

4차 산업혁명 시대에 따른 온라인과 오프라인 연계 광고의 유형화 (Classification of Online and Offline linked Advertisements in 4th Industrial Revolution)

  • 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 시대의 도래에 따라 출현하고 있는 새로운 광고 형식인 온·오프라인 연계 광고의 가치와 유형을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서 문헌연구를 기반으로 '4P(제품, 가격, 유통, 촉진)'에서 '4C(공동창조, 공동체, 대화, 통화)'로 진화하는 마케팅 방식을 이해하고 4C 요소를 도출하였다. 이를 기반으로 온·오프라인 연계광고 사례들의 조사를 통해 4C의 어떠한 요소가 온·오프라인 연결성을 나타내고 있는지 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 온·오프라인 연계 광고는 최종적으로 4C의 요소가 연결된 방식에 따라 총 4가지의 대 유형과 14가지의 세부 유형으로 분류되었다. 본 논문에서는 최종 결과물로 4차 산업혁명 시대에 따라 출현한 마케팅의 4C 요소가 광고에서 표현되고 있음을 검증하였고 이에 따른 광고의 유형화를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 온·오프라인 연계 광고를 제작하고 연구하는 광고인과 연구자에게 새로운 통찰력을 공급하는데 공헌할 것으로 기대된다.

지역사회연계 과학이슈 교육프로그램 운영의 교육적 함의에 대한 운영 교사 및 강사, 지역 전문가의 인식 탐색 (Perceptions of Teachers, Program Instructors, and Local Experts on Implementing Community-Based Socioscientific Issues Programs)

  • 본 연구는 과학이슈(유기동물, 미세먼지, 재활용)를 중심으로 학교와 지역사회를 연계하는 과학교육 프로그램(SSI-COMM) 운영을 담당한 교사, 외부 강사, 지역 전문가들의 SSI-COMM의 운영 경험을 통해 실천과 참여를 강조한 지역사회연계 프로그램의 교육적 함의를 탐색해보고자 하였다. 각각의 프로그램은 한 학기 동안 16차시로 운영이 되었으며 학생들의 과학이슈에 대한 흥미와 지역사회로의 참여를 향상시키기 위해서 학교와 학교 밖 활동으로 구성되었다. 본 연구를 위해 4명의 학교 교사, 4명의 외부 강사, 6명의 지역 전문가와 인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 수업 관찰 일지 등도 추가적으로 수집되었다. 연구 결과, SSI-COMM 운영에 참여한 운영자들은 프로그램 운영 과정에서 본 프로그램의 적용이 가져올 수 있는 교육적 함의에 대해 긍정적으로 인식했을 뿐만 아니라, 지역사회 속 과학이슈에 대해 스스로의 관심이 높아지고, 앞으로도 지속적으로 운영해보고자 하는 의지를 나타냈다. 교사의 경우에는 본 프로그램을 통해 현재 학교교육이 학생들의 잠재된 역량이 표출되기에 제한이 있음을 인지하였으며, 학생들이 직접 학교 밖 관련 기관을 직접 방문하고 지역 전문가와 만나 소통해보는 경험을 통해 학교 지식과 실천 사이의 간격을 줄일 수 있다는 가능성을 인지하였다. 학교 밖 교육을 담당했던 외부 강사는 자유로운 학교 밖 활동이 학교 수업에서 소외되었던 학생들에게 뿌듯함과 자신감 그리고 성취감을 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공함을 확인하였다. 본 프로그램 운영에 참여한 지역 전문가들 역시 본인의 직업과 관련된 분야에서 논의되는 과학이슈에 대해 학생들과 소통하는 경험을 통해 지역사회에 대한 소속감과 교육 주체로서의 역할에 대해 고민해볼 수 있었다. SSI-COMM은 지역사회연계 프로그램 활성화를 위해서는 앞으로 지속적으로 학교와 지역사회 구성원들 간의 친밀한 네트워크 체계를 구축할 필요가 있음을 시사하였다.

서울지역 초등학생들의 보건의사소통 요구도 특성 : 학교 건강관련 행사를 중심으로 (School child health communication activity needs in Seoul : Focused on school-based health fairs)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe elementary school students' health communication needs based on school-based health fairs by students' demographic characteristics and school health education experiences. A self-administered survey was conducted to a total of 851 fifth-grade students in 8 elementary schools in Seoul. For survey participant sampling, Seoul area was divided into four districts: north, south, east, and west, and two elementary schools were selected from each district by the stratified convenient sampling process. Three class 5th-grade students in each selected school finished the survey. Questionnaires and survey instruction letters were delivered to vice-principals in the designated schools and the vice-principals managed the survey process. The survey Questionnaire included demographic characteristics (sex, parent's marital status, parents' educational status, famil financial status, the person whom was with after school, and daily computer hour), health education experiences (health education at school, and school health education satisfaction), and health communication types. The health communication types were reorganized into eight types based on comprehensive literature review on health fairs (or child and adolescence. The health communication types were 'health exam and advice fair,''health promotion advertising and campaign,' 'health-related exhibition and experience fair,' 'profession visit-in-school education,' 'health-related VCR or movie festival,' 'health-related institute visits,' 'internet health counseling,' and 'telephone health counseling.' Regarding demographic characteristics, sex, family financial status, and academic performance were significant factors related to health communication need scores (p <.05). Girl, high level of family financial status, and excellent academic performance score were related to high score of health communication need. In terms of school health education experience, taking regular class for health education and satisfaction with school health education were linked to higher health communication need scores. This result discusses that experience and satisfaction with school health education largely contribute to building participants' health communication concepts and needs.
