  • All newborn infants with clinically significant bleeding should be evaluated for a hemostatic deficit. Medical history should include the following data: familial bleeding disorders, maternal illness and medication, age of bleeding onset, and prophylactic administration of vitamin K. The first essential step for evaluating bleeding neonates is determining whether the baby is sick or well. The physician should also evaluate the extent of the bleeding, features of bleeding lesions, and other abnormal findings from the physical examination. Skeletal anomalies may provide diagnostic clues. Depending on the clinical features and results of screening tests, other tests including coagulation factors may be useful for determining the diagnosis. All laboratory results must be considered in the context of age-related reference values. The platelet function analyzer provides a promising alternative to bleeding time. Fibrin degradation products and D-dimers are used for screening and specially testing fibrinolytic activity, respectively. The Apt test may help to rule out factors derived from maternal blood. Radiologic imaging studies are important because asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhages are common in neonates.

  • An approach to robot hybrid position/force control, which allows force manipulations to be realized without overshoot and overdamping while in the presence of unknown environment, is given in this paper. The manin idea is to used dynamic compensation for known robot parts and fuzzy compensation for unknown environment so as to improve system performance. The fuzzy compensation is implemented by using rule based fuzzy approach to identify the unknown environment. The establishment of proposed control system consists of following two stages. First, similar to the resovled acceleration control method, dynamic compensation and PD control based on known robot dynamics, kinematics and estimated environment stiffness is introduced. To avoid overshoot the whole control system is constructed with overdamping. In the second stage, the unknown environment stiffness is identified by using fuzzy reasoning, where the fuzzy compensation rules are obtained priori as the expression of the relationship betweenenvironment stiffness and system. Based on the simulation result, comparison between cases with or without fuzzy identifications are given, which illustrate the improvement achieced.

  • This paper presents an automatic conversion of machining data from the orthographic views of press mold by feature recognition rule. The system includes following 6 modules : separation of views, function support, dimension text recognition, feature recognition, dimension text check and feature processing modules. The characteristic of this system is that with minimum user intervention, it recognizes basic features such as holes, slots, pockets and clamping parts and thus automatically converts CAD drawing details of press mold into machining data using 2D CAD system instead of using an expensive 3D Modeler. The system is developed by using IBM-PC in the environment of AutoCAD R12, AutoLISP and MetaWare High C. Performance of the system is verified as a good interfacing of CAD and CAM when applied to a lot of sample drawings.

  • The following paper deals with a control problem of a mobile robot in home network environment. The home network causes the mobile robot to communicate with sensors to get the sensor measurements and to be adapted to the environment changes. To get the improved performance of control of a mobile robot in spite of the change in home network environment, we use the fuzzy inference system with multiple reward reinforcement learning. The multiple reward reinforcement learning enables the mobile robot to consider the multiple control objectives and adapt itself to the change in home network environment. Multiple reward fuzzy Q-learning method is proposed for the multiple reward reinforcement learning. Multiple Q-values are considered and max-min optimization is applied to get the improved fuzzy rule. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, some simulation results are given, which are performed in home network environment, i.e., LAN, wireless LAN, etc.

  • This study tests the applicability of concepts of integrated leadership-in-government and follower happiness in South Korea and then comes up with implication and limitations on the applicability based on the study of Mathias et al. (2018). The study adopts eight leaderships: accountability, rule-following, political loyalty, network governance, task-oriented, relations-oriented, change-oriented and diversity-oriented leadership that Mathias et al. (2018) employ from Fernandez et al. (2010) and Tummers and Knies (2016). We also select job satisfaction and self-perceived performance to measure follower happiness depending on Mathias et al. (2018). According to the analytical results, it shows that accountability leadership, network governance leadership, task-oriented leadership, relations-oriented leadership, and change-oriented leadership have positive influences on follower happiness measured. Based on the analytical results, this study suggests implication and limitation on the applicability of the link between integrated leadership and follower happiness in comparison to the results from Mathias et al. (2018).

  • Speech act tagging is an important step in various dialogue applications, which recognizes speaker's intentions expressed in natural language utterances. Previous approaches such as rule-based and statistics-based methods utilize the speech acts of previous utterances and sentence features of the current utterance. This paper proposes a method that determines speech acts of the current utterance using the speech acts of the following utterances as well as previous ones. Using the features of following utterances yields the accuracy 95.27%, improving previous methods by 3.65%. Moreover, sentence features of the previous utterances are employed to maximally utilize the information available to the current utterance. By applying the proper probability model for each speech act, final accuracy of 97.97% is achieved.

  • The author has studied on 910 roentgenograms of lower second molars, which were taken by intraoral technic, and obtained the following results. 1. The development of crown of lower second molars was completed 8.25 years. 2. The formation of mesial and distal roots in full length on lower second molars was completed as follows: a. mesial roots 15. 07 years b. distal roots 15. 53 years 3. The formation of apical foramina of mesial and distal roots of lower second molars was closured as follows: a. apical foramen of mesial root 18.00 years b. apical foramen of distal root 18.79 years 4. As a general rule, the mesial roots were developed more earlier than distal roots.

  • This paper proposes a new approach for modeling sweep surfaces. The overall modeling procedure consists of following steps : (1)remeshing the section curves based on the curve lengths ; (2)remeshing the guide curve and the boundary curves based on a given sweeping rule ; (3)obtaining intermediate section curves at the remeshed points of the guide curve by blending the initial section curves ; (4)compensation of the intermediate section curves ; (5)interpolating the initial and intermediate curves using Hermite interpolant. The resulting sweep surface is expressed in a G$^{2}$ bicubic parametric spline surface.

  • Nominal compounds of 'N1 + N2'in Korean can be classified into the following three major categories: co-compound, sub-compound, and fusion. Among these three major categories, insertion of /t/ in the compounding process and subsequent tensification are found only in sub-compounds. This peculiar phenomenon of /t/-insertion which causes, in turn, tensification in sub-compounds has been long controversial because linguists have not been able to expect in which phonological environment of sub-compounding insertion of /t/ takes place. In this paper, I explore a phonological rule which makes it possible to expect the phonological environments of sub-compounding that allow insertion of /t/ and automatic tensification of the subsequent consonant in the onset of N2. In this process, I show that semantic feature(s) between two combined roots should be considered as one of the important structural descriptions in phonology.
