Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are common after general anesthesia and patient controlled analgesia (PCA) using opioids. This study was designed to compare the effectiveness of ondansetron plus dexamethasone versus ondansetron alone in the prevention of PONV in a patient undergoing a PCA. Methods: We studied 166 ASA I, and II in-patients undergoing general anaesthesia for major gynecological surgery. After induction of anesthesia, Group 1 (n = 64) received intravenous (IV) dexamethasone 10 mg and Group 2 (n = 102) received IV saline 2 ml before the surgical incision. Each patient received IV meperidine 50 mg as a loading dose. Meperidine 5 mg/kg, ketorolac 3.6 mg/kg and ondansetron 8 mg diluted in 40 ml solutions were connected to PCA pump for postoperative pain control. Mean arterial blood pressure, heart rate, pain score and symptom-therapy score were checked at 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 36 hours after the PCA connection. Results: For Group 1 and Group 2, respectively, the overall incidence of PONV was 12.5% and 23.5%. The pain scores were lower in patients receiving a combination of ondansetron and dexamethasone than those on ondansetron alone at 4 hr (P < 0.05), 8 hr (P < 0.05) and 16 hr (P < 0.05). Conclusions: This study suggests that the combination of ondansetron and dexamethasone is not more effective than ondansetron alone in the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting in women having PCA following major gynecological surgery but is more effective for pain control.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to assess the frequency of use, and preferences regarding information and communication technologies (ICTs) among Ecuadorian patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: We conducted an anonymous cross-sectional survey-based study from January 2016 to April 2017, involving 393 patients with end-stage renal disease from 9 hemodialysis centers, in which they rated their use and preferences of various ICTs through a modified version of the Michigan Questionnaire. The questionnaire collected information regarding demographics, patients' interest in obtaining health-related information through ICTs, and interest in using ICTs as a potential way to communicate with their healthcare providers. A chi-square test for association and adjusted regression analyses were performed. Results: Among all patients who participated, 64.3% reported owning a cellphone, with less than a third reporting active Internet connection. The most used ICT for obtaining information about CKD and/or hemodialysis was web-based Internet, followed by YouTube. SMS was rated the highest to receive and seek health-related information, followed by Facebook. Younger age and higher levels of education were associated with a higher overall usage of ICTs. Finally, more than half of the patients reported interest in using WhatsApp for communicating with their healthcare providers. Conclusions: Understanding the preferences of ICTs among patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis could help to improve their outcomes through the potential uses and benefits of ICTs. Further research is needed to assess their role in improving the care of patients with chronic diseases.
This study aims to develop two science education programs using Angbuilgu and ancient astronomical data, are Korean astronomical heritage, and explore its educational possibility through the pilot application. Considering the TSK compositional characteristics of Angbuilgu and ancient astronomical data, linkage with science curriculum, and linkage with NOS, Angbuilgu was developed as a hands-on activity for elementary school students and ancient astronomical data as a science inquiry activity for middle and high school students. The educational availability of the developed program was confirmed by pilot application to elementary and high school groups. This study focuses on systematic structure of factors, which affect commercialization of ocean science and technology (OST), applying both grounded theory methodology (GTM) and semantic network analysis methodology (SNAM) by using in-depth interviews with 8 specialists previously experienced in the same field. This study further focuses on clarification of the distinctiveness and universality of commercialization factors on OST by comparatively analyzing on the commercialization factors of general sciences and technologies. Using SNAM, it was determined that commercialization success required connected support system, government support, technology marketing, technology power and characteristics of commercialized entities, which were identified as dominant factors. GTM presented an outcome that connected support systems among participants in commercialization and found that research institute strategies are significant factors in the core phenomenon of commercialization, while technology marketing, technology power and market-oriented technology are important conditions. In addition, the factors of technology, market, connection of participants and government support of commercialized entities are shown as equally important factors for commercialization of ocean science and technology. Secondly, SNAM results indicate that ocean science characteristics depend on a network of government support, research institute strategy, organization and manpower, capital power, and technology marketing, as these ocean science characteristics have been identified as significant factors in the GTM study. It has been determined that technology, market and government support should be connected in order for commercialization of ocean science and technology (OST). Moreover, commercialization methods, applied to the marketing of commercialization of ocean science and technology is differentiated from others since commercialization success is more relevant to these factors.
Statement of problem: Regardless of any restoration, most of case, we used in screw connection between abutment and implant. For this reason, implant screw loosening has been remained problem in restorative practices. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare surface of coated/plated screw with titanium and gold alloy screw and to evaluate physical property of coated/plated material after scratch test in FESEM investigation Material and methods: GoldTite, titanium screw provided by 3i (Implant Innovation, USA) and TorqTite, titanium screw by Steri-Oss (Nobel Biocare, USA) and gold screw, titanium screw by AVANA (Osstem Implant, korea) - were selected for this study. Each abutment screw surface was observed at 100 times, and then screw crest, root, and slope were done more detailed numerical value, at 1000 times with FESEM. A micro-diamond needle was also prepared for the scratch test. Each abutment screw was fixed, micro-diamond scratch the surface of head region was made at constant load and then was observed central region and periphery of fine trace through 1000 times with FESEM. Results: The surface of GoldTite was smoother than that of other kinds of screw and had abundant ductility and malleability compared with titanium and gold screw. The scratch test also showed that teflon particles were exfoliated easily in screw coated with teflon. Titanium screw had a rough surface and low ductility. Conclusion: It was recommended that the clinical use of gold-plated screw would prevent a screw from loosening. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS Clinical use of gold-plated screw would prevent a screw from loosening because it had abundant ductility and malleability compared with titanium and gold screw.

Recently urbanization and industrialization around the Nak-dong river watershed have lead to the regional environmental problems. In this viewpoint, we took up variables which were related to watershed environment, and found out spatial and environmental properties of the Nak-dong river using factor analysis, ANOVA test and geographic information system. The results may be summarized as follows; three common factors which were named as urban, agricultural and industrial pollutant factor extracted from statistical methods. Spatial distribution of watershed environment could be found by connection attributes of factor scores derived from factor analysis to digital map using GIS. According to the results, distribution of pollutant sources were concentrated in the main stream of the Nak-dong river and its tributaries, Kum-ho river. So it is necessary to manage the watershed environment in due consideration of environmental carrying capacity.

The optimal path on real road network has been changed by traffic flow of roads frequently. Therefore a path finding system to find the optimal path on real network should consider traffic flow of roads that is changed on real time. The most of existing path finding methods do not consider traffic flow of roads and do not also perform efficiently if they use traffic information. In this paper, we propose an abstraction method of real road network based on the Terminal Based Navigation System (TBNS) with technique such as TPEG. TBNS can be able to provides quality of path better than before as using traffic information that is transferred by TPEG. The proposed method is to abstract real network as simple graph in order to use traffic information. It is composed boundary nodes based on real nodes, all boundary nodes that have the same of connection are merged together. The result of path finding on an abstract graph diminishes the search space.
Objectives: Mental health issues have become a growing concern worldwide. Research has shown that regular physical activity (PA) can positively affect mental health. This study investigated the associations between PA and mental health problems (MHPs) in middle-aged Indonesians. Methods: The study utilized data from the 2018 Indonesian Basic Health Research Survey and used a cross-sectional approach. The participants included individuals aged 40-60 years who completed the 20-question Self-Reporting Questionnaire. A logistic regression was performed to analyze a sample of 263 930 data points. Results: Nearly 10.4% of the participants suffered from mental health issues. Notably, among those who did not engage in moderate and vigorous PA, a sign of MHPs was found in 12.5% of participants. Those who met World Health Organization standards for PA were less likely to experience MHPs (10.1%). This study found a significant association between PA and mental health. After adjusting for smoking, alcohol consumption, non-communicable diseases, and socio-demographic variables like age, sex, education, occupation, marital status, and residence, the connection between PA and mental health became even stronger (adjusted odds ratio, 0.81; 95% confidence interval, 0.78 to 0.85; p<0.001). Conclusions: Regular PA has been shown to affect mental health positively. Therefore, it is important to improve health education and efforts to raise awareness among middle-aged Indonesians about the importance of PA in maintaining good mental health.
