PROPERTIES OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE FRACTIONAL LAPLACIAN SYSTEMS WITH POSITIVE-NEGATIVE MIXED POWERS

  • In this paper, by establishing the direct method of moving planes for the fractional Laplacian system with positive-negative mixed powers, we obtain the radial symmetry and monotonicity of the positive solutions for the fractional Laplacian systems with positive-negative mixed powers in the whole space. We also give two special cases.

  • We present a method for transferring deformation weights of a human character to three-dimensional (3D) scanned clothes. First, clothing vertices are projected onto a character skin. Their deformation weights are determined from the barycentric coordinates of the projection points. For more complicated parts, such as shoulders and armpits, continuously moving planes are constructed and employed as projection reference planes. Clothing vertices on a plane are projected onto the intersection curve of the plane with a character skin to achieve a smooth weight transfer. The proposed method produces an initial deformation for physically based clothing simulations. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our method through several deformation results for 3D scanned clothes.

SYMMETRY AND MONOTONICITY OF SOLUTIONS TO FRACTIONAL ELLIPTIC AND PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

  • In this paper, we first apply parabolic inequalities and a maximum principle to give a new proof for symmetry and monotonicity of solutions to fractional elliptic equations with gradient term by the method of moving planes. Under the condition of suitable initial value, by maximum principles for the fractional parabolic equations, we obtain symmetry and monotonicity of positive solutions for each finite time to nonlinear fractional parabolic equations in a bounded domain and the whole space. More generally, if bounded domain is a ball, then we show that the solution is radially symmetric and monotone decreasing about the origin for each finite time. We firmly believe that parabolic inequalities and a maximum principle introduced here can be conveniently applied to study a variety of nonlocal elliptic and parabolic problems with more general operators and more general nonlinearities.

  • In this paper, we consider the following nonlocal fractional Laplacian equation with a singular nonlinearity (-∆)su(x) = λuβ (x) + a0u (x), x ∈ ℝn, where 0 < s < 1, γ > 0, $1<{\beta}{\leq}\frac{n+2s}{n-2s}$, λ > 0 are constants and a0 ≥ 0. We use a direct method of moving planes which introduced by Chen-Li-Li to prove that positive solutions u(x) must be radially symmetric and monotone increasing about some point in ℝn.

  • Transient finite element method for analysis of moving coil needs many number of elements and much time to make calculation. Therefore, induction heating process for moving coil was simulated by traveling the position of the heating planes in this paper. In the magnetic and thermal analyses, temperature-dependent magnetic and thermal material properties were considered. Finite element program was developed and finite element results were compared with the experimental results.

Analysis of the Induction Heating for Moving Inductor Coil

  • Induction heating is a process that is accompanied with magnetic and thermal situation. This paper presents a simulation of a magneto-thermal coupled problem of an induction heating process for moving inductor coil. In the magnetic and thermal analyses, temperature-dependent magnetic and thermal material properties were considered. As the inductor coil moves in the process, solution domains corresponding to inductor changes into those of the air, and the solution domains of air change into those of the inductor. For these reasons, modeling of induction heating process is very difficult with general purpose commercial programs. In this paper, induction heating process for moving coil was simulated with the concept of traveling the position of the heating planes. Finite element program was developed and finite element results were compared with the experimental results.

  • We present a method to detect on-road vehicle using geometric invariant of feature points on side planes of the vehicle. The vehicles are assumed into a set of planes and the invariant from motion information of features on the plane segments the plane from the theory that a geometric invariant value defined by five points on a plane is preserved under a projective transform. Harris corners as a salient image point are used to give motion information with the normalized correlation centered at these points. We define a probabilistic criterion to test the similarity of invariant values between sequential frames. Experimental results using images of real road scenes are presented.

비디오 객체 생성을 위한 자동 영상 분할 방법 (An Automatic Segmentation Method for Video Object Plane Generation)

  • 본 논문은 MPEG-4와 같이 객체 및 내용 기반 영상 부호화에 필요한 동영상의 자동 영역 분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 통계적 가설 검증(statistical hypothesis test)을 사용하여 영상 시퀀스내에 포함된 비디오 객체들(video objects)을 움직임 물체(moving objects)와 배경 (background)으로 자동 분할하는 새로운 영상 분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존 방법들이 두 개의 연속된 영상을 사용하는 반면에, 제안된 방법은 3개의 연속된 영상을 사용하여, 2개의 차영상의 평균값을 비교하여 가설검증을 행함으로써 잡음에 강한 특성을 나타낸다. 그리고 제안된 방법은 기존 방법과는 달리 참분산(true variance)을 사전에 알고 있을 필요가 없는 장점을 갖고 있다[18]. 또한 시간정보만을 이용한 변화 검출 방법의 문제점인 불규칙하고 부정확한 영역의 경계를 공간정보를 이용하여 보정하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 시험 결과에서 주어진 것처럼 제안된 시공간정보를 이용한 영상 분할 알고리즘이 시각적으로 의미있는 분할 결과를 제공함을 알 수 있고, 정확한 영역 경계를 추출할 수 있기 때문에 MPEG-4와 같은 객체 기반 영상 부호화에 적용할 경우에 영역 경계에서 상당히 우수한 재생 화질을 얻을 수 있다.

  • One of the most difficult problems in depth control for underwater vehicle is the effect of seaway disturbance. One component of the seaway forces is of large magnitude with a relatively narrow-band, first order component. The other component is generaly of somewhat smaller magnitude, second order component. Since the magnitude of the first order component is generally much greater than the compensating force that can be generating by the planes, it is undesirable for the controller to generate a control command. In this paper, we disigned adaptive notch filtering system using filter bank structure. Energies of each band-passed signal are obtained by MA(Moving Average) method and compared to produce center frequency. By adapting this parameter to notch filter, 1st order seaway disturbance can be removed, which lead to the improvement of automatic depth control system.
