  • Owing to the higher temporal resolution, meteorological satellite data is widely used to monitor the disasters happened on the earth's surface. However, the precision of identifying disaster information is limited by the poor spatial resolution. As known, GIS technology is good at processing and analyzing the geographic information. The result shows, integrating with GIS technology, the ability of monitoring forest fire using meteorological satellite data has been greatly improved.

  • This work is described as an early effort to study organic products marketing. Discusses the characteristics, barriers and vitalization strategies of developing new markets in an environment of increasing consumer awareness and marketability of organic products. Barriers to developing new markets for organic products include lack of basic information or poor understanding among farmers of sustainable techniques and practices, poor access to markets, high start-up costs, lack of understanding the developing market, uncertainty in marketing and pricing, consumer habits, inadequate financing, including resistance to paying premium prices, misinformation and misapprehension concerning the production of organic products. Recommends strategies for implementing sustainable systems, e.g., involve government agencies, educating and organizing both farmers, processors, and consumers developing marketing and distribution programs. Examines business strategies that have successfully targeted markets, such as advertising, labeling, public relations and communications, gaining consumer trust, partnerships, and diversifying operations.

  • This paper proposes a character segmentation method for Korean letter address image. The poor quality of image binarization results in broken character strokes. To overcome this problem, two steps of processing ate introduced. The first one is to merge broken characters to generate character candidates, and the other one is to reduce the complexity of segmentation graph path. These two steps do not use recognition information to keep in high-speed.

  • This paper introduces region partitioning method of non-perfect nested loops with non-uniform dependences. This kind of loop normally can't be parallelized by existing parallelizing compilers and transformations. Even when parallelized in rare instances, the performance is very poor. Based on the Convex Hull theory which has adequate information to handle non-uniform dependences, this paper proposes an enhanced region partitioning method which divides the iteration space into minimum parallel regions where all the iterations inside each parallel region can be executed in parallel by using variable renaming after copying.

  • In this paper, we propose a preprocess method to needs for Car License Plate Recognition on poor environment. This preprocess method use multi images to get low value to compare images value. Last method was Opening operation that Using Edge pixel to add and subtraction. The Result was removed White pixel and very mini feather. But This method needs many process times and License Plate Recognition is low quality problem. Another method is median filter and conversion. This paper key idea that rain & snow is high value. So This paper propose get low value to compare image value.

  • As our society enters an aged society, it is becoming increasingly important to resolve digital divide of older adults. However, the digital divide of the older adults are generally neglected compared to other information poor. The aim of this study is to propose considerations for library policy development in order to resolve the digital divide of the older adults. The study examined regulation of the Framework Act on National Informatization and the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Also it investigated guidelines and current status of services to older adults in the library. The study suggested that public libraries should be used as a basic base for the services to resolve the digital divide to older adults across the country, and the services should be organized systematically and sustainably through public libraries.

  • This study is conducted to examine elderly consumers' information needs according to information sources. And the relation with related variables purchasing problems of the elderly consumers and their needs according to information sources is investigated. The data was collected from 782 elderly consumers ages range from 55 to 74 and major findings are as follows: (1) Their needs according to information sources are relatively high and followed by neutral information source department store personnels and advertisements (2) The more esperiences they have and the more seriously they perceive their purchasing problems in a relatively poor conditon of a market the more information they want from department store personnels. (3) How many experiences they have and how much they perceive seriously in purchasing problems are the major intervening variables which have strong positve effects on the needs. The experiences show the strongest effects on the needs. The level of the percept on is strongly related to the needs and neutral information source is the major effect among the information sources.

  • With the recent aging age, people's interest in healthy life is increasing. People are causing adult diseases or an increasing number of obese populations due to poor lifestyles, eating habits, and poor physical activity. Accordingly, skin beauty research is being conducted using medical information in the information and communication field. Existing systems have not been able to provide smooth information because they are not expressed in combination with various related measurement items. The system proposed in this paper scans the user's body shape using a 3D scanner and a skin care device, calculates the BMI (Body Mass Index) index using 3D image data, and allows you to view the collected data at a glance. Provide a service system. This will provide the user with the content managed by comparing and providing the continuous body change data. It is expected to be widely used in various U-health and beauty fields.

  • Graphing abilities are critical to understand and convey information in science. And then, to what extent are secondary students in science courses able to understand line graphs? To find clues about the students' interpretation processes of the information in science-related line graphs, this study has the following research question: Is there a difference between the levels of complexity of good and poor readers as they use the thinking aloud method for studying cognitive processes? The present study was designed to provide evidence for the hypothesis that good line graph readers use a specific graph interpretation process when reading and interpreting line graphs. With the aid of the thinking aloud method we gained deeper insight into the interpretation processes of good and poor graph readers while verifying verbal statements with respect to line graphs. The high performing students tend to read much more information and more trend-related information than the low performing students. We support the assumption of differential line graph schema existing in the high performing students in conjunction with general graph schema. Also, high performing students tend to think aloud much more metacognitively than low performing students. High performing students think aloud a larger quantity of information from line graphs than low performing students, and more trend-related sentences than value-related sentences from line graphs. The differences of interpretation processes revealed between good and poor graph readers while reading and interpreting line graphs have implications for instructional practice as well as for test development and validation. Teaching students to read and interpret graphs flexibly and skillfully is a particular challenge to anyone seriously concerned with good education for students who live in an technological society.

  • Paper stock could be situated in a cooled environment seasonally and/or regionally otherwise it is stored in a controlled warehouse. In this paper, printing problems on a cooled paper are investigated and characterized in terms of paper properties. For this purpose, various kinds of sample are cooled down under a specially designed freezing device and printed for observing their printability. Causes for poor ink transfer on a cooled paper are suggested due to condensation, surface inactivity, and rheological change in ink film. Paperboards with higher amount of binder, thick and/or multi-coated layers are more vulnerable to poor ink trap. Severe drying of wet coating could cause a similar result as that of the coatings with higher binder formulation. It is shown that more absorptive porous structure is desirable for better ink receptivity in a cooled status. Printing on a dampened surface may be an indicator for ink transferability on a cooled paper. Finally, desirable directions for papermaker and printshop are suggested.
