기부와 자원봉사에의 참여 행동에 관한 연구 -누가 선택적으로 참여하고 누가 결합적으로 참여하는가?- (An Empirical Exploration on Selective & Combined Giving -Comparison of General Participation and Intensive Participation-)

  • 본 연구는 나눔행동이 선택적으로 혹은 결합적으로 전개될 수 있다는 사실에 기반하여 나눔행동을 네 가지(비참여, 기부에만 참여, 자원봉사에만 참여, 기부와 자원봉사 모두 참여)로 세분화 한 후 다양한 형태의 나눔행동에의 영향 요인을 탐색해 보았다. 분석을 위해서는 다항로지스틱 회귀분석을 활용하였고, 자료로는 서울복지패널 1차 및 2차 자료를 활용하였다. 다양한 나눔행동에의 참여여부 및 정기적 참여를 구분하여 분석한 결과, 전반적으로 과거의 나눔경험과 종교활동은 현재의 나눔행동과 밀접한 관련성을 지니는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 인구사회학적 변수중, 성별(여성), 소득수준(+), 교육수준(+), 취업상태 등은 기부와 관련된 나눔행동과 밀접한 관련성을 지니는 것으로 나타났는데, 취업상태의 경우 미취업은 자원봉사행동과, 취업은 기부행동과 보다 큰 관련성을 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인의 주관적 행복감 역시 기부와 자원봉사 모두에의 정기적 참여를 이끌어내는데 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 지금까지 간과되어온 질문인 '누가 각기 다른 형태의 나눔행동에 참여하는가?'와 관련해서 이의 영향 요인을 종합적으로 밝히고 있다는 점에서 연구의 의미를 지닌다.

동아시아 기혼여성의 성별분업에 관한 태도와 실천: 한국, 일본, 대만 비교 연구 (Attitudes and Practices on the Gender Division of Household Labor in South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan)

  • 이 글은 여성의 경제활동 참여 증가를 통해 근대적 성별분업이 도전받고 있음에도 불구하고 가족 내 성 평등이 지체되는 현실에 주목하고, 한국, 일본, 대만 등 동아시아 3개국 여성들의 성 평등의식과 현실 간의 불일치를 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 EASS 자료를 바탕으로 동아시아 여성들의 연령, 교육기간, 가구소득, 성별분업에 대한 태도, 부부 각각의 노동시간, 가족지원망이 가사분담에 미치는 영향력의 차이를 분석하고, 각 국가별 특성을 살피고자 하였다. 분석 결과 한국과 대만은 성별분업에 대한 보수적 성향에도 불구하고 남성들의 실질적 가사부담률이 높게 나타났으며, 반면 일본의 경우 여성들의 진보적 태도에도 불구하고 실제 가사부담률이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 차이는 대만, 한국과 일본 여성들의 평균 노동시간에 기인하는데, 한국과 대만 여성들의 경우 전일제 노동에 종사하는 경우가 많아 상대적으로 가사 노동시간을 줄이는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 대만은 가족 특성이, 한국은 여성경제활동의 성격이 가사부담률에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 3세대 동거가구의 비율이 높은 대만은 부모로부터의 돌봄 지원이 가사 부담을 줄이는데 기여하며, 한국에서는 여성의 교육기간이 길수록 가사부담률이 증가하는 경향을 보임으로써 고학력 여성의 상대적으로 낮은 경제활동 참여가 가사노동에서의 협상력 약화에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이 글에서는 가사분담에 영향을 미치는 요인으로서 개인적 요인뿐 아니라 노동시장 성격이나 구조, 가족 형태 등 제도적 요인이 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인함으로써, 향후 성별분업 연구에서 개인과 부부의 특성뿐 아니라 거시적 요인에 대한 요인 분석이 필요함을 제안하였다.

생명공학에 대한 사회적 인식 (Social Perception on Biotechnology in Korea)

  • 생명공학의 사회적 함의에 대한 논의를 위해서는 일반 시민의 인식과 형성과정에 대해 파악할 필요가 있다. 이에 따라 생명공학에 대한 ELSI (Ethical, Legal and Social Implications) 연구의 일환으로 필자는 생명공학에 대한 사회적 인식의 지형을 정기적으로 조사하는 프로젝트를 시작하였다. 본 논문은 이 조사 프로젝트의 한 부분으로 생명공학에 대한 인지도 수준과 태도를 파악하고 관련 요인을 찾아보았다. 인식조사는 전국 성인남녀 500명을 대상으로 전화면접방법을 이용하여 이루어졌으며, 표본은 유층표집방법을 이용하여 추출하였다. 조사결과 의료 관련 생명공학에 대해서는 긍정적인 태도가 많았지만, 유전정보의 사회적 관리 및 유전자 변형식품에 대해서는 부정적 태도가 긍정적 태도와 비슷한 수준이거나 아니면 더 많았다. 그리고 인지도 수준이 높을수록 태도가 더 명확하였다. 또한 이러한 시민들의 태도는 아직 잠정적인 느낌 수준인 경우가 많으며, 매스미디어의 영향을 많이 받은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 생명공학에 대한 사회적 함의에 대한 논의가 보다 건설적이기 위해서는 우선 생명공학에 대한 정보의 생산과 유통이 보다 활성화될 필요가 있다는 것을 보여준다.

젊은세대 고학력여성의 노동시장참여 (Labor Market Participation among Young College-Educated Women)

  • 1980년대말 남녀고용평등법의 제정으로 성차별적 고용관행에 대한 제도적 제재가 선언된다. 1980년대 후반까지 결혼퇴직제가 보편화되었었고 이러한 관행은 여성의 경력 단축과, 임금이나 업무배치에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 1980년대 후반부터 가속화된 여성 고용에 대한 사회제도적 변화가 고학력 여성의 노동시장참여에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는가를 본 연구에서는 살피려고 한다. 구체적으로 젊은세대에서 교육효과는 어떻게 변화하였으며, 결혼이나 가족이라는 여건이 이들 세대에서는 취업과 관련하여 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검토하려고 하였다. 이것을 위해 여성개발원의 2001년 취업실태조사 자료가 이용되었다. 노동시장참여와 관련하여 젊은세대에서 어떤 변화가 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서 알 수 있는 것은 교육효과의 변화이다. 이전 세대의 부정적 교육효과는 사라지거나 긍정적인 것으로 나타나고 있다. 물론 아직도 교육효과가 미약하게 나타나고 있지만, 이러한 변화는 주목할 만하다. 전반적으로 가족 여건이라는 것이 여성이 일하는 것을 어렵게 하고있다. 기혼여성의 경우 미혼여성과는 달리 여성 자신의 일에 대한 태도가 노동시장 참여에 영향을 미치지 않는다. 놀라운 것은 가족이라는 맥락에서는 일에 대한 여성자신의 의견은 중요하지 않지만, 남편의 의견은 중요하게 나타난다는 것이다. 이것을 통해서 아직도 젊은세대에서도 여성의 의견이 남편의 의견에 종속되고 있다는 것을 것을 알 수 있다. 34세 이하 젊은 세대 여성을 고려할 때, 가족이라는 맥락에서는 교육효과도 크게 약화되는 것을 알 수 있다. 펄은 세대에서도 대졸이상의 학력이라는 것이 결혼하지 않았을 때는 여성의 일과 관련하여 의미 있게 작용하지만, 가족이라는 맥락에 처하면, 별 의미가 얼다. 물론, 젊은 세대에서 교육과 관련된 긍정적인 변화가 엿보이기는 하지만, 과거 세대와 마찬가지로 여전히 결혼이나 가족의 여건은 여성취업에 부정적으로 영향을 미치고 있으며 고학력 여성의 경우 이것의 영향을 더 많이 받는다.

고등학교에서 과학 선택 과목의 수, 심화(II) 과목 비율, 교과 다양성이 이과 학생의 과학에 대한 태도 성장에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Number, Ratio of Advanced Courses, and Variety in Science Elective Subjects on the Growth of High School Science Course Students' Attitude Towards Science)

  • 한국교육고용패널 2004-2007년 자료 중 343명의 이과 고등학생 조사 데이터를 활용하여 과학에 대한 태도에 대한 잠재 성장 모형을 적합하였다. 모형 적합 결과, 과학에 대한 태도의 무성장 모형보다 성장 모형이 더 나은 것으로 나타났다. 통제 변수가 없는 무조건 성장모형에서 과학에 대한 태도의 초기치와 변화량의 분산이 유의미하였으므로, 여기에 학생 개인 수준에서 이수한 과학 선택 과목의 수, 심화(II) 과목의 비율, 교과 다양성, 그리고 중학교 3학년 때의 성적 백분위를 통제 변수로 투입하였다. 이러한 조건 성장모형에서 중학교 3학년 때의 성적 백분위는 과학에 대한 태도 초기치에 정적으로(+) 유의미한 직접 효과가 있었고, 과학 심화 과목의 비율과 교과 다양성이 과학에 대한 태도 변화량에 정적으로(+) 유의미한 직접 효과가 있었다. 연구 결과에 기반하여, 2022 개정 과학과 교육과정이 고교학점제를 대비하여 '일반선택' 계열에서는 교과 지식의 구조를 견지한 물리, 화학, 생물, 지구과학 교과를 제시하고, '융합선택' 계열에서는 해당 교과들의 구조가 어느 정도 유지된 통합형 교과를 개발하며, '진로선택' 계열에서는 차별화된 심화성과 엄격성을 지닌 교과를 제공하는 방향을 제안하고 지지하였다.

인력수급 대책을 위한 치과기공사의 보건지소 진출에 관한 연구 - 2012년 틀니보험화 정책을 중심으로 - (The study on the entry of dental technicians in the public health center for a manpower supply and demand plane (Centering around a denture insurance policy in 2012))

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the manpower planning of dental technicians. Methods: Methods : Survey was conducted regarding subject's general characteristics, characteristics of dental technician's occupational view and working conditions, and reason to enter into branches of the public health enter. The survey sample consisted of 323 dental technicians (221 male/ 102 female). Survey was conducted for one month from August 1 to September 1 in 2010. Following results were obtained. Results: 1. Regarding general characteristics of the subjects, there was a slight male predilection with 68.4%. Subjects in their 40s occupied the highest proportion of 32.2%. Majority of subjects worked in the big cities (71.5%). Favored working places were dental laboratory (57.6%) and dental hospital or dental clinic (19.5%). Although no position is available in the public sector such as public health center or health care civil servant, 9.3% preferred working in the public health center. Public sector is more favored than 2-year technical colleges or dental supply and equipment companies. In respect to education, 57% of the subjects graduated college. 67.8% were married. Subjects who specialize in the porcelain or all-ceramic were 57.9%. With regard to current position, head of the dental laboratory was most common. 2. Following occupation characteristics were found. Economic reason took the highest proportion when deciding their occupation (39.9%) followed by gaining social experience (36.5%). Majority of the subjects (76.5%) wanted to work as dental technicians until their retirement. 71.5% pursuit to become a manager of the dental laboratory. 76.1% agreed on opening a dental technician position in the public health center. Regarding an authority to lead developing the dental technician position in the public sector, majority of the subject chose ministry of health and welfare (35.6%) and Korean dental technologist association (34.7%). Employment (average, 30%) and turnover rate (average, 36.5%) of dental technology college graduates ranged from 40% to 60%. Most important factors for the employment were practical experience (41.2%) and competency (34.4%). With regard to job satisfaction, so-so as 46.7% and satisfactory was 42.7% 3. In respect to the reason for opening a position in the public health center, 'It is needed to continue denture rogram for elderly patients' obtained the highest score (4.14 point). 'Institutional devices are required to open a position for dental technicians as a public healthcare provider' received high score (4.11 point). 4. Concerning the working conditions, 'professional knowledge is required' received the highest score (4.23) followed by 'too short maternity and parental leave' (4.21). 5. Relationship between general characteristics of the subjects and favor of working in the public health center was investigated. Significant differences were found according to the current and favored working area, favored occupation, education level, marital status, and specialty. Working in the public health center was favored by following subjects: working in mid- or small-sized cities (4.16 point, p<0.05); PhD degree-holder (4.59 point, p<0.01). 6. Among general characteristics of the subjects, significant difference of working conditions was found in the following factors: gender; working areas; favored working areas; favored working positions, and education level. Majority of subjects favored working in big cities and currently work in big cities although satisfaction was comparatively low (3.75 score). 7. Future plan to work in public health center was evaluated according to occupational characteristics. Subject's intention to work in the public healthcare center was significantly affected by opening of dental technician position, leading authority, average turnover rate, and factors affecting employment. Working in the public health care center was favored by the following subjects: Dental technicians who actively supported opening of the dental technician position (4.34 point, p<0.001); subjects who thought the Korean dental technologist association is responsible for the opening of positions in the public sector (4.26 point, p<0.001); and subjects who thought that attitude and character are important for the employment (p<0.001). 8. Concerning difference of working conditions according to the occupational characteristics, significant difference was demonstrated by factors such as a reason to choose to be a dental technician, work plan, pursuing position, responsible authority, average employment rate, and job satisfaction. High standard of working conditions was required in subjects who selected to be a dental technician for the leisure time after work (s.05 point, p<0.01), who planted to work until their marriage (4.25 point, p<0.001), and who pursuit to be a manager (3.98, p<0.05). 9. In respect to influence of general characteristics on the advancement to public health centers, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.068 and age affected the working condition with significant difference according to the pvalue. 10. Regarding influence of general characteristics on the advancement to public health centers, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.335 and work plan, opening of dental technician position in the public sector, and responsible authority had significant influence over the subject's intention to work in the public health center according to the p-value. 11. With regard to the influence of general characteristics on the advancement to public health centers, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.091 and reason to choose to be a dental technician, work plan, and responsible authority significantly affected subject's working conditions. Conclusion: Korean society is becoming a super-aged society according to several statistics. As aged population is rapidly increasing, national health insurance plans to cover denture for senior citizen over 75 years old from 2012. Therefore, dental technicians are urgently needed in the public health centers all over the nation. Many subjects in this study planed to work until their retirement and recognized dental technician's expertise. Ministry of health and welfare and Korean dental technologist association should co-operate each other to prepare foundation and institutional devices for dental technicians to advance into the public health center. This will improve oral health of the population. This study showed urgency of medical facilities and services which meets increasing number of aged population and welfare of the population.

가사노동의 상품대체에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Commodity Substitution of Housework)

  • In this study the phenomenon of commodity substitution of housework is approach in the contexts of economic system, patriachal family system and housework-related human resources. the objectives of this study are as follows: (1) To measure the level of commodity substitution of housework in large cities. (2)To investigate the factors influencing commodity substitution of housework. The samples were composed of 982 housewives dwelling in 6 large cities including Seoul. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, percetile. multiple regression analysis. The major findings are the following; (1) When the housework was divided into two subdomains , in the domain of food the purchase level was for below average while in the domain of clothes, the level was quite higher than average. This result hows that commodity substitution has become more common in the domain of clothes by mass production of clothes on a commercial scale. (2) the level of commodity substitution of housework was influenced by the family attribute variables such as housewife's age, family income. housewife's education, family types, housewife's brought-up regions, presence of sewing machine, employment status of housewife, by one patriarchal norm variable such as home-orientedness, and by tow human resource variables such as importance of housework and household tasks performance competnecy. Among variables house wife's age was the most influential one and such variables as family income, housewife's education, household task performance competency, importance of housework, and home-orientedness were also important. Considering that the influence of home-orientedness demonstrates the importance of patriarchy and that importance of housework and that performance competency also are determined by the patriarchal variables such as sex-role attitude and home-orientedness, we can conclude that Hartmann's theoretical approach with which the changes of housework were explained in the two contexts of economic system and family system is applied to the changes of housework in Korea.

우리나라 보건지소 조직, 기능 및 관리개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Organization, Function and Management of Health Subcenters in Korea)

  • This study is aimed both to reorient the Health net-works focused to Health Subcenters in times of development of local autonomy in Korea and to collect the fundamental data such as attitude and practice of the directors of Health Subcenter. The materials are collected from 134 out of 258 sampling directors of Health Subcenters with a questionaire by mailing(respond rate 51.9%). The major findings of this fundamental data are as follows. 1. Current average number of outpatients cared by a director of Health Subcenter is found to be 21.6. 2. The directors of Health Subcenter have little deducted hours for Public Health Programme. 3. Number of the Preventive Health Programme worked by a director of Health Subcenter is from 0 to 3. The most major group worked only 1 programme marked at 69.4%. 4. The directors of Health Subcenter express approval opinin marked at 80.2% that their qualification to appoint has to finish intern course. 5. The average diagnosis allowance a month is approximately twenty hundred thousand won. 6. Most of Health Subcenter(market at 94%) adopted a self-supporting account system. 7. The most complaining subject of directors of Health Subcenter is their working environment. The second complaining subject is governmental officier's interference. 8. The average number of outpatients cared by a director of Health Subcenter is found to be certain differentials by their marriage and the duration of employment. Some proposals of development on Health Subcenter based on the result of this research is as follows : 1. The reorganization on Health Subcenter under line of National Health Center Net-work 2. The psychological reorientation of directors of Health Sucenter and officers. 3. Autonomy management of Health Subcenter. 4. Reorientation of status on directors of Health Subcenter.

부산지역 의사들의 특성에 관한 조사 (An Investigation to the General Characteristics of Doctors in Busan Area)

  • To find a basic study for manpower of physicians and medical care systems in Busan, author has studied towards 1,069 doctors who had taken the regular report in 1973, residing in Busan City. The survey was conducted from July 1 to August 31, 1973 and the findings & results obtained through the study for distributions, characteristics, employment of doctors and some medical system were summarized as follows; 1. The ratio between doctor and populations in Busan City was 1:1,887. 2. The doctors who graduated from Susan Medical College were 438 as the most proportion (40.9%). 3. Sex distribution of doctors revealed male 970, female 99 and those belonging to the 30-39 age group were as the most proportion (41.0%). 4. The doctors who had faith in Christianity were the highest (22.3%), 5. By the opening year of clinics, there was increasing tendency after 1950, especially during 1970-1973. 6. At that time of investigation, the doctors who had private clinics were 673 (67.3%) and nonemployees were 27 (2.5%) 7. The total Medical Specialists in Busan were 519, and among them the Internal Medicine Specialists were the highest proportion (16.2%). 8. The clinics employing the disqualified nurse-aids were 237 (22.2%). 9. Most of doctors (81.8%) had opposed attitude to the establishment of new medical colleges. 10. More than half of the doctors (59.8%) agreed to the functional division between Physicians and Pharmacists. 11. The ratio of agreement to the practical application of public medical insurances was 68.7%. 12. The opinion by opening hospital-clinics at Myeon for administrative measures for doctorless rural area was the highest proportion. 13. The doctors who replied as low state of confidence of the citizens to the doctors-themselves were 691 (64.6%).

Validating the Entrepreneurial Intention Model on the University Students in Saudi Arabia

  • The main objective of this paper is to examine the applicability of Linan and Chen's entrepreneurial intention model (EIM) in predicting the entrepreneurial intention. EIM is an adaptation of the Theory of Planned Behavior that focuses on entrepreneurial intention and hypothesizing slightly different patterns of relationship with regards to subjective norms. The model also includes human capital and demographic factors. Snowball sampling method was used to collect data using the entrepreneurial intention questionnaire (EIQ) through several social media platforms. The survey indicates that the overall entrepreneurial intention of Saudi students is high (mean = 5.41). Eight out of the seventeen hypothesized relationships were found to be significant. Among the demographic variables, gender-personal attitude was significant whereas self employment experience and years of business education were found to be significantly related with perceived behavioral control. The statistical analysis using partial least square structural equation modelling validated the model. All the three antecedents of entrepreneurial intention were significantly related with entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study will help policy makers to get deep understanding into the phenomenon of entrepreneurship among Saudi university students and thereby develop a conducive environment. This study also validates the entrepreneurial intention model in a different cultural context.
