  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the number of the consulation rooms for the O.P.D. in General Hospital. To estimate optimal number of consulation rooms, it has to be considered the factors of population density, neighboring medical supply, condition of location, and the number of bed etc. And the figure of Out-Patients has to be expected as exact as possible. In calculation of consulation rooms, existing hospital planning has been considered only the number of bed, without considering many other factors. According to it, the number of consulation rooms was calculated by consulation and then work out the total number of consulation rooms for the O.P.D.. Therefore this method has been had a lot of problems But. this study considered four factors, and calculated the total number of consulation rooms for O.P.D. and then worked out the number of consulation rooms by O.P.D.

  • This study was carried out to investigate and analyze TSP of the PC rooms. The concentration of the total suspended particulate and heavy metals contained in the total suspended particulate of the 15 PC rooms located in one local city were measured. The statistical correlation coefficients between the total suspended particulate and factors of the indoor condition (number of fan or size of pc room, illumination), between the heavy metals and factors of the indoor condition were studied. The results are as follows: 1. The factors of the indoor condition of the 15 PC rooms are as follows. Average illumination was 24 luxes. Average number of computers installed were 37. Average number of the fans was 7. and the size of investigated PC rooms was $139.94m^2$. 2. The mean age of the subjects was 21.8 years old. they $(51.5\%)$ used the 15 pc rooms for fewer than 2 hours per one day. 3. The mean concentration of total suspended particulate (TSP) is lower in the evening ${139.085\;(2.462)\;{\mu}g/m^3}$ than the night ${166.216(2.609){\mu}g/m^3}$. 4. The mean concentration of total suspended particulate was industrial work area) residential area) commercial area. 5. The distribution of heavy metals were indicated as Zn>Cr>Pb>Cd in the indoor air at PC rooms. and the concentration rate of Zn was the highest among heavy metals. but this increase didn't show any relationship with many factors of indoor condition (number of fan or size of pc room, lighting) 6. The concentration of TSP & heavy metals didn't have any relationship between the factors of indoor environment (number of fans, size of pc room, lighting).

  • Nothing is more incorrect than forecasting. Nevertheless, forecasting is one of the most important business activities for the effective management. There has been rapid changes of the growth rate in every respect of the Korean hospitaity industry, especially the hotel industry, before and after the 88 Olympic Games. Therefore, the hoteliers shall be in need of more-than-ever accourate demand forecasting for the more systematic management and control. Under the above circumstances, this study suggested the best forecasting technique and method for the better sales and operations of the hotel rooms. The number of rooms sold is selected as a dependent variable of this study which is regarded as the best representative factor of measuring the growth rate of the rooms division performance of the hotels. The first step was to select the most verifiable independent variable diferently from the other countries or other areas of Korea. As a result, the number of foreign visitors was chosen. Empirical research, i.e. correlation and multiple regression analysis, shows that this independent variable has a strong relationship with the dependent variable told above. The second procedure was to estimate the number of rooms will be sold in 1991 on the basis of the formula calculated through the multiple regression analysis. Time series technique was conducted using the data of the number of foreign visitors by purpose of travel from 1987 to 1990. For the more correct forecasting, however, it would be desirable to adopt the data from 1989 considering the product or the industry life cycle. In addition, deeper analysis for the monthly or seasonal forecasting method is needed as a future research.

  • According to seventh curriculum, new types of school design have been developed recently. However there are hardly any data of national status about plan and area organization, types and number of rooms of those. On this background, the purpose of this study is to provide fundamental resources for architectural designing and planning of high schools and to recognize national status of plan organizations of high schools through collecting 53 school's standard design drawings(arrangement, plan drawing) which city, province education office drafted for 4 years(from 1997 to 2000) and analyzing them into plan types, building area and type, number and area of rooms. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The range of class number of designed 53 high schools varies from 24 to 36 and 36-class-schools are 47.2% of all. Average number of class is 34.1. As a result we can find out large scale schools are mainly designed. 2. Among 53 schools, 21 schools have the department system but few of them equipped sufficient rooms and their features are very manifold. After recognizing utilization status of each schools, the standards of room type, number and plan organization should be proposed. In terms of plan type for fluent level based transferring class, most of schools are not apt. 3. In the status of type and number of rooms related to class number, range is very wide. So simplification is necessary. 4. The variations of building area, area per a class and area per a student are very large so that standard of adequate area should be established. 5. That every school which has different plan organization from conventional schools exceeds ministry of education's minimum area standards shows those standards cannot cover the diverse plan design of school. So more adequate standards should be proposed. 6. Area and number of Teacher's research room and Home Base are also very manifold from school to school. They are also considered to be simplified immediately.

  • Fourteen hundred and one landraces of sesame cultivated in Korea were collected and evaluated for their major agronomic characters and yield potential under conditions of May 15 sowing, 50\timesl5cm planting density and 4-3-2 kg/l0a of N-P_2 $O_{5}$-K_2 O application in Suweon in 1977. Seventy nine percent of the collection had white seed coat color, and 29% was brown. One capsule type with two rooms-four cells was 75%, one capsule type with four rooms-eight cells was 20%, and three capsule type with two rooms-four cel1s were 5% of the varieties collected, But, two one-capsule type varieties with three rooms-six cells were also found. Days to flowering from emergence were long in the varieties collected in the central northern area, but short in the varieties collected in the southern area. Number of capsule per plant was more in the central northern varieties than in the southern varieties. Number of branch per plant was more in the one capsule type varieties with two rooms-four cells than in the three capsule type varieties with two rooms-four cells and in the one capsule type varieties with four rooms-eight cells. There were significant corelations between number of capsules per plant and grain yields in the one capsule type varieties with four cells. Grain yields had significant correlation with number of capsules per plant and number of branches per plant.

  • Objectives: This study examined the impact of a smoke-free policy on indoor air quality at indoor recreation facilities by assessing $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations before and after the implementation of the new policy. Methods: Using real-time monitors, $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were measured in 50 billiard rooms and 50 golf simulator rooms in Seoul, Korea. The characteristics of the indoor recreation facilities, smoking status, and atmospheric conditions were recorded at the same time. After the enforcement of a smoke-free policy, $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations, installation of smoking room, and smoking status were examined when the facilities were revisited. Results: Almost a half of the billiard rooms and over 80% of golf simulator rooms were located underground. Seventy percent of the billiard rooms and one hundred percent of the golf simulator rooms were equipped with a local exhaust ventilation system. After the implementation of the smoke-free policy, 46% of the billiard rooms and 20% of the golf simulator rooms newly installed a smoking room. In the billiard rooms with a newly-installed smoking room, the $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations decreased from 97.9 to $45.6{\mu}g/m^3$ after the implementation of the smoke-free policy. The same change of 29.0 to $ 26.3{\mu}g/m^3$ was not statistically significant in golf simulator rooms. Indoor $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were correlated with outdoor $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations, number of smokers, and number of people in the room. Conclusions: The smoke-free policy for indoor recreation facilities was not effective at making the indoor spaces free from second hand smoke. Although a few billiard rooms installed a smoking room, indoor $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were still higher than those of outdoor $PM_{2.5}$ or atmospheric $PM_{2.5}$. Stricter enforcement of the smoke-free policy should be achieved to prevent secondhand smoke exposure.
