From 1959 to 1984, over 93,000 Koreans moved to North Korea from Japan as part of a repatriation project conducted during this time. Among them were people who had escaped from North Korea and immigrated to Japan and South Korea as well as the descendants of such people. This research examines the immigration trajectories of North Korean defectors related to the repatriation project and its effects on international relations in East Asia in a migration systems context. Specifically, it focuses on 26 North Korean defectors who have connections with Japan and settled in Japan and South Korea. It argues that the migration pathways of North Korean defectors linked with the repatriation project have been constructed with the cooperation of and amidst conflict between East Asian countries. To respond to the situation, North Korean defectors used their connections with Japan in amicable relations between Japan and China. However, after the relations went sour, defectors turned to informal transitional networks. If these strategies were unavailable, the defectors faced difficulties, unless they received social or capital support from the destination countries. After entering the destination country, those who settled in Japan have experienced different situations due to the inconsistency in administrative proceedings, while those in South Korea have been treated equally as other defectors. In this sense, some defectors have faced precarious situations in their immigration.
Former South Korean President Moon Jae-in implemented a project called the Peace Initiative, which prioritized a "peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula" as the core national agenda and involved using a peace-based frame instead of a unification approach to address inter-Korean relations from a different perspective. This initiative was evaluated in this study using a revised version of the pyramid model to assess the input-output-result process underlying the project and determine whether it generated results that differed from those achieved by the previous administration. To these ends, this research compared Moon's key presidential speeches with those of his predecessor, Park Geun-hye, as input, news commentaries and responses from major players as output, and the trend of perceptional and attitudinal changes in public opinion as results. Although Moon failed to accomplish significant policy effects on inter-Korean relations because of geopolitical challenges and the transfer of power to the conservative party, the analysis revealed that the input, output, and partial results of inter-Korean dialogue reflect some progress.
The hypertext-based polychotomous key in m (World Wide Web) was developed to improve the identification accuracy of planthoppers caught by the light trap in Korean paddy fields. The effects of it were tested by 12 students who are not familiar at the identification of insects. When they used the hypertext, it was improved that the ability of them to recognize Sogatella furcifera (Horvath) and Laodelphax striatellus (Fallen). Identification accuracy of the former was increased significantly from 56% to 83% and that of the latter was also increased significantly from 47% to 80%. However, many students still have difficulty in the recognition of Nilaparvata lugens (Stal).

In this research, we propose a mechanism to develop an inference engine and expert systems based on relational database and SQL (structured query language). Generally, former researchers had tried to develop an expert systems based on text-oriented knowledge base and backward/forward (chaining) inference engine. In these researches, however, the speed of inference was remained as a tackling point in the development of agile expert systems. Especially, the forward inference needs more times than backward inference. In addition, the size of knowledge base, complicate knowledge expression method, expansibility of knowledge base, and hierarchies among rules are the critical limitations to develop an expert systems. To overcome the limitations in speed of inference and expansibility of knowledge base, we proposed a relational database-oriented knowledge base and forward inference engine. Therefore, our proposed mechanism could manipulate the huge size of knowledge base efficiently, and inference with the large scaled knowledge base in a short time. To this purpose, we designed and developed an SQL-based forward inference engine using relational database. In the implementation process, we also developed a prototype expert system and presented a real-world validation data set collected from medical diagnosis field.

Objectives : To qualify or enhance the diagnostic ability of students in Oriental Medicine, so called standardized patients are ideal modality, but because it's a man-based method, more convenient tools are required. Computer-based diagnostic ability test program gives effective way for the very purpose. So we made a pilot software evaluating Pattern Identification ability in Oriental Medicine. Methods and Materials : The pilot software was coded with Microsoft's EXCEL VBA. 87 names of Zheng (Symptom Pattern) and 674 names of symptom (including some signs) are adopted from the former standardization works conducted by Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) in 1996. Results : Compared with some manned modalities to test Pattern Identification ability, the test by this software shows superiority in convenience and objectivity. Conclusion : This software is world's first program to perform computer-based evaluation of Pattern Identification in Oriental Medicine, and it gives effective way to complement both written test and manned clinical performance test (CPX).

The overarching purpose of this study is to examine the current status of academic public engagement in Vietnam. Data were obtained from a survey with 245 university lecturers, and descriptive statistics were used jointly with Bayesian statistics as tools for analysis. This study reveals that a significant proportion of university lecturers are not involved in public engagement, neither through the public press (66.5%) nor social media (49%). Those who have been active in public engagement use the public press and social networks to communicate science, with the latter being more used than the former. In addition, this study also pointed out that experienced scientists tend to engage with the public press, while early-career researchers often choose social networks. The findings of this study provide implications for higher education policymakers and administrators.

This study examines how different uses of social network sites (SNS) and mobile phones (MP) to communicate with friends and business associates are related to the acquisition of job-related information, job mobility, and entrepreneurial intentions, using social capital as its main theoretical lens. To this end, a nationally representative, random digit dialing (RDD) survey was conducted in Singapore. Path analyses show that SNS interactions with friends are positively related to both bonding and bridging social capital. The former is linked with greater job mobility, the latter with entrepreneurship, and both are associated with more job-related information. SNS interactions with business contacts are directly positively related to job-related information and entrepreneurship. For mobile phones, interactions with friends are positively related to social capital, job information and entrepreneurship. Professional networking is associated with more bridging social capital, job information and job mobility. Bonding capital is found to be linked with greater job mobility, while bridging capital has a positive relationship with both entrepreneurship and job mobility.
Digital media was realized by two-dimensional design backup. But, digital medium decides form of architecture, and act as a design tool that can expand area of thinking. With such social change, investigate for digital architecture. And, wish to analyze design process of digital architecture and search the characteristics. Through comparison of digital and analogue, clear up that the digital world had complex and ambivalent attribute. Define digital design process as "Digital continuum" with characteristic of digital architecture and divided in 3-steps of concept - development - representation. Analyzed digital design process of Frank O, Ghery, Peter Eisenman and Greg Lynn on th assumption division. As a result, design concept is starting from three-dimensional thinking instead of existent two-dimensional thinking. And because general work of process was gone by digital media, "mass costomization" was possible. Also, it gave architect new role. Differ with former days, select various variables, should tuning and cording, and emphasize role as coordinator who must select the result. Digital is summoning very radical and epoch-making change in architecture. At center of these change, digital design process asks architect complex thinking and creative concept.
Many States such as Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, California, New Mexico, Florida were obtained either from Spanish Empire or from Mexico. In 1848 due to the Guadalupe-Hidalgo treaty America could obtain half of the original territory of Mexico. American identity cannot be understood without the history of American expansionism further consolidated by the Spanish-American War in 1898, which brought other ex-Spanish colonies such as Guam, Puerto Rico, the Philippines to the US. The US's interest in these territories dates back to the Monroe doctrine in 1823 when Monroe "declared the Americas off-limits to any new European colonization." America justifies their expansion based on the notion of Manifest Destiny which was created by O'Sullivan at the hight of American fever to annex Texas to US. The intent of this paper is to study how Anglo-Saxon and Latin Culture clashed against each other especially right before and after the Spanish-American War. In this study the American hero, Theodore Roosevelt and Latin American hero, $Jos{\acute{e}}$ Martí will be compared, though they did not meet each other during the Spanish-American war due to Marti's early death in 1895 at the battle for the Cuba Libre. Their comparison is significant in that the former represents the American expansionist spirit and the latter the spirit of Anti-imperialism and Anti-Anglocentrism. Along with the concept of Manifest Destiny of America, 'American exceptionalism' is also mentioned which motivates U.S. to expand further even after the Spanish-American war in the form of 'informal imperialism' characterized by 'gunboat politics'of the US. These discussions will draw attention to how recent theorists such as Bryce Traister criticizes the Border Theory represented by $Jos{\acute{e}}$ David Saldívar. Here the Border Theory is criticized to repeat the discourse of the globalized capitalism which prefers the weak state and the transnational aspects by focusing on the in-betweenness of the border. In the end the paper will focus on how the Border theory as represented by Saldivar is political enough and sets up a resistant example against American expansionism of today in its focus on the call for pan-American and pluri-versal subjectivity of the borderlands. This point will be supported by a discussion of how Saldivar's view is confirmed by Walter Mignolo who advocates the "bottom up" resistance of the indigenous people of Chiapas and other social forums such as World Social Forum and the Social Forum of the Americas derived from the Zapatistas' movement whose motto is "A World in which many world co-exist."
