This paper begins with the thesis that the so-called 'Be Slow' Movement has not only affected the contemporary life style but also the current fashion trend in the West as well as in Korea. The influence of the 'Be Slow' Movement on the everyday life of Western and Korean society can be documented by recent books, news reports, and many articles from various kinds of mass media and fashion magazines since the year 2000. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First. the 'Be Slow' Movement is a new cultural phenomenon and very different from that of the past century. It has emerged very recently and it could affect the life style o( its followers for a long period of time. Second, the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement on everyday life can be witnessed in many behavioral choices. such as the preference of organic food and natural cooking for food and the preference of rural life and a green patch of land for housing. Some aspects of the way of rearing the children and long-term planning of one's life are also under the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement. In a way. the life style Proposed by the 'Be Slow' Movement is somewhat similar to that of 'Bobos'. Third, the influence of 'Be Slow' Movement on the current fashion trend can be observed in the appreciation of time-consuming labour and increased usage of D.I.Y. clothing. The higher value of fashion goods with handcrafted part or scarce luxury item are good examples of the influence by the 'Be Slow' Movement. One can say that the 'Be Slow' Movement is not retrogression, but a re-creation of time and space to be grateful for one's life. Thus, it is not anti-technology but a commercialism with technology in order to enhance the quality of life and to place people in the center of production and consumption. Consequently, one may say that the 'Be Slow' Movement is a appropriate and affluent way of living.
The purpose of this study is to understand the ideas of characteristic of convergence design related to slow fashion design. Convergence design in digital stage can be defined as a social phenomenon which different function of product move toward one direction for greater efficiency. Slow fashion is based on the Slow Movement. (This is a movement with similar principles to the Slow Food Movement, as it promotes an alternative mass production, such as fast fashion.) The aims of this research are to study slow fashion that has appeared in the fashion industry through various approaches for convergence designs, and to find the possibility of use for slow fashion. The research method consisted of carrying out case studies and analyzing literatures and proceeding cases. The characteristics of convergence designs are classified into technical convergence, emotion-oriented convergence and complex convergence. Technical convergence has an effect on slow fashion as a multi-functional design. Second, emotion-oriented convergence affects social-cultural design. Slow fashion related to a complex convergence design reveals emotion-oriented deign. Slow fashion is related to convergence design is to expect contribute to provide a good source for the future fashion industry and fashion market.
In order to investigate the rates and factors of slow mass movement on a subalpine slope of Mount Halla, two painted stone lines were monitored in a bare patch at 1,710 m a.s.l. The mean movement of surface gravels is 58.2 cm, equivalent to 0.24 cm/day. However, the rates of movement vary with seasons. Compared with 0.05 cm/day of a non-frozen season, a frozen season shows 0.3 cm/day. It implies that the movement of surface gravels could be largely controlled by periglacial processes during a frozen season. In particular, frost creep including needle ice creep plays a main role in the movement of gravels under the thermal and soil conditions which are favorable for needle ice development. Since line II is located at a steeper slope than line I, the movement of line II was always larger than that of line I. However, slope gradient is not the most dominant factor contributing the movement of gravels, which can be interrupted by downslope big gravels and vegetation patches. The size and specific weight of gravels also can influence the movement of gravels. Porous and light scoriae result in relatively quick movement of gravels on the subalpine slope of Mount Halla.

Single neuronal activities were recorded in the cuneate nucleus of awake rats during rest and running behavior. Movement-induced changes in somatic sensory transmission were tested by generating post-stimulus time histograms of these neurons' responses to stimulation through eleetrodes chronically implanted under the skin of the forepaw, during control resting behavior and during two standardized speeds of locomotor movement: slow (1.0 steps/s), fast (2.0 steps/s). The magnitudes of firing during these responses were measured and normalized as percentage increases over background firing. The averaged evoked unit responses were facilitated by $+59.3{\pm}12.5%\;and\;+25.6{\pm}5.4%$ (SEM) as compared with resting behavior, during slow and fast movement respectively. This is to be compared with the movement-induced sensory suppressions observed previously in the ventrobasal thalamus $(-31.0%{\pm}1.9%)$ and in the primary somatosensory cortex $(-71.2%{\pm}3.8%)$ of slowly running rats. These results suggest that afferent somatosensory information may be uniquely modulated at each sensory relay, such that it may be facilitated at brainstem level and then subjected to suppression at higher somatosensory nuclei during movement.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the displacement characteristics in slow-moving landslide area using digital elevation model and airborne LiDAR when unpredictable disaster such as slow-moving landslide occurred. We also aimed to provide basic data for establishing a rapid, reasonable and effective restoration plan. In this study, slow-moving landslide occurrence cracks were selected through the airborne LiDAR data, and the topographic changes and the scale of occurrence were quantitatively analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the study area showed horseshoe shape similar to the general form of slow-moving landslide occurrence in Korea, and the direction of movement was in the north direction. The total area of slow-moving landslide damage was estimated to about 2.5ha, length of landsldie scrap 327.3m, average width 19.3m, and average depth 8.6m. The slow-moving landslides did not occur on a large scale but occurred on the adjacent slope where roads were located, caused damage to retaining walls and roads. The field survey of slow-moving landslides was limited by accessibility and safety issues, but there was an advantage that accurate analysis was possible through the airborne LiDAR. However, because airborne LiDAR has costly disadvantages, it has proposed a technique to mount LiDAR on UAV for rapidity, long-term monitoring. In a slow-moving landslide damage area, information such as direction of movement of cracks and change of scale should be acquired continuously to be used in restoration planning and prevention of damage.

This study was performed in order to produce the basic data for devising irrigation project and desalinization countermeasure through analyzing salt movement and desalinzation effects. The Desalinization experiments with water management practices were carried out, using the soil samples collected in New Manguem tideland. The changes of electrical conductivity, exchangeable sodium percentage, pH and hydraulic conductivity during the desalinization experiments, and the correlations between various factors influencing desalinization, were analyzed by the statistical method. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows: 1. The sample soils used in this study were salin-sotlic soils with the high electrical conductivity and the high exchangeable sodium percentage, and the soil texture was silt loam. 2. A large amount of the soluble salts was removed in the begining of desalinization experiments. The initial electrical conductivity and the initial exchangeable sodium percentage decreased considerably in the beginning, and were gradually slow in the rate of decrease 3. The value of pH showed a tendency to increase during the desalinization and were little by little slow in the rate of increase, and could be estimated by the regression equation. 4. The initial hydraulic conductivity were raised greatly with gypsum treatment and the penmeability was maintained adequately, The hydraulic conductivity and the leaching time elapsed during the desalinization could be estimated by the regression equation. 5. The water requirement for desalinization with various water management practices could be estimated for a given electrical conductivity, exchangeable sodium percentage, and pH reading respectively.

Slow movement of snail can be a benefit since it means less speed of tracking is required to get accurate movement track, but in the other side it is difficult to extract the object because the snail is almost as static as the background. In this paper, we present a technique to track the snail by using one of its common characteristic, dark color of its shell. The technique needs to be robust to illumination change since the experiment is usually to observe the movement of snail both at bright and dim condition. Snail position coordinate in 3D space is calculated using orthogonal stereo vision which combines the information from two images taken from cameras at the top and in front of the aquarium. Experimental results show this technique does not need prior background image extraction and robust to gradual or sudden illumination change.
Purpose: This study compared the effects of the elastic resistance and general training for college Taekwondo athletes, and investigated the biomechanical ability and lower extremity function according to the movement speed of the knee joint. Methods: Twenty university student Taekwondo athletes participated voluntarily in this study. The subjects performed general resistance training for four weeks, followed by elastic resistance training for another four weeks. The biomechanical parameters during the fast and slow isokinetic conditions, Y-balance ability, and vertical jump ability were measured three times: before training, after general resistance training, and after elastic resistance training. Statistical analysis was performed under isokinetic conditions and the intervention effect. Results: The biomechanical ability differed significantly between fast and slow isokinetic conditions (p<0.05). An analysis of the training method revealed a significant difference in the maximum knee extension speed and the posterior-lateral direction of the Y-balance test (p<0.05). Conclusion: Elastic resistance training had a more positive effect on the functional task performance than biomechanical factors related to muscular strength compared to general resistance training. In addition, speed-related knee biomechanical information of subjects with strong physical abilities could be utilized in sports physiotherapy.

The objectives of this study were to compare alternative agri-food system among Korea, Japan, USA and Italy. This study explore the situation and its challenge of alternative agri-food system. Alternative agri-food system is movement against global agri-food system and food multinationalization. Four alternative agri-food system not only have something in common but also have something in difference. We tried to make clear the commons and differences. But many these ideas were useful in someways, but none could be used to explain everything. This study was the touchstone of Korea's alternative agri-food system. We introduced simplistic ideas and compared four alternative agri-food system. This study sparking renewed discussion about Korea's alternative agri-food system, namely, 'The domestic farm products are the best movement'.

Recently it is coming to be hish reality on visual system in ship-handling simulator depending on the technical development of 3D computer graphics. Even with high reality, it is possible that visual information presented seafarers through screen or display is not equivalent to the real world. In docking maneuvering, visual targets or obstructs are sighted close to ship's operator or within few hundred meters, so it might be possible to affect visual information such as the difference between both eyes' and single eye's visual sight. Because it is not possible to perceive of very slow ship's movement by visual in case of very large vessels, so the Doppler Docking SONAR and/or Docking Speed and Distance Measurement Equipment were developed and applied for safety docking maneuvering. By the way, the simulator training includes the ship's maneuvering training in docking, but in Ship-handling Simulator and also onboard, there are some limitations of perception of ship's movement with visual information. In this paper, perception of ship's movement with visual system in Ship-handling Simulator and competition of performances of visual systems that are conventional screen type with Fixed Eye-point system and Mission Simulator. We got some conclusions not only on the effectiveness for visual system but also on the human behavior in docking maneuver.
