For a good design, it is important to understand consumers and trend of textile and fashion design. Previous researches on textile pattern design with CAD have been done. They have studied on Korean traditional floral motives/hand painting or some geometric patterns. Few studies have been done on conversational design. Therefore the purpose of study was to observe types of textile pattern design for the recent fiver years and determine fabric pattern trends, especially on the conversational motifs. The types of patterns were analysed with professional panels from the 2005～2009 collection sources, using SPSS program. This study was also develop textile patterns creating using CAD. We conducted design process on motif creating, repeat, and mapping jobs, using textile special design program Prima vision and Photoshop CS3.

The development of Korean textile industry has continued for the early industrialization. But a change in situation of circumstances, textile industry undergoes hard times. To overcome the barrier, therefore, technical development and design innovation are needed to make high value added product. This paper try to put to practical use of the silk weighting process technique(WPT). First, we investigate the technical trend of WPT to summarize the theory, and examine the feasibility of technical development. Second, the application of Graft process to silk textile is examined to know whether it is possible as an practical use. Next, we present the practical way of WPT using MAA monomer through experiment. The results are as follow. 1) Considering the lack of silk yarn. Graft process is appropriate new technique to make the value added product, and fine quality. 2) Studing textile goods, it need inter-displlinary co-work not only fiber engineering scope because textile goods is closely related with fashion industry. 3) MAA monomer used in this paper is more excellent then other monomer because it has good weighting effect and does not harm to the nature of textile. 4) MAA WPT is good for silk textiles of ladies jacket and neck-tie.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of the elements of textile design on consumer emotion and to develop the emotion model which is suitable for the textile design. The descriptive system of textile design was developed based on the previous studies. Emotion measurement scale was developed to analyze the consumer emotion for the textile design. 20 representative types of textile design were collected as stimuli set for this study, consumer emotion on each design type was examined and was analyzed through the survey. For the data analysis, principal component analysis was employed. As a result, 8 emotional factors such as 'Modern', 'Fun', 'Natural', 'Elegance', 'Classic', 'Ethnic', 'Wild' and 'Sporty' were derived from the results of the survey. Emotion measurement scale which consisted of 8 factors was developed to analyze the effects of the elements of textile design on consumer emotion and 80 representative types of textile design were collected. In addition, the emotion which consumers feel for the textile design types was investigated and each textile design was described according to the descriptive system of textile design. Statistical methods of pearson correlation and multiple regression were employed to analyze the relationship between the elements of textile design and consumer emotion. The results of this study revealed that 15 design elements which affected consumer emotion were the size of motives, the shape of motives, the degree of tone contrast among motives etc. This study findings can provide specific design methods for the effectiveness of consumer emotion.

This study aim to suggest how alter the korean traditional image design for umbrellas by sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Umbrellas are highly depend on design and made from polyester fiber which is proper item to utilize sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Sublimation transfer digital textile printing system can use computer system to create the delicate high dense images and one full layout through the hole umbrella. It can create distinctive style of design compare with former screen printing umbrella design. As a result of this study, Korean traditional images were adopted and recreated for umbrellas as the modern practical item. 7 of umbrella designs were developed and sample umbrellas could be produced in short period comparing with screen printing process. Through this study, as green printing process, sublimation transfer digital textile printing will be more applied to manufacture high quality textile products along with design development, thus it is expected as an alternative plan to leads growth of umbrella industries.

This study attempts to address the development processing of yarn-dyeing jacquard design by using jacquard textile design professional CAD system to create high valued worth products. To carry out this purpose, two kinds of necktie samples were designed and each of them was different in three types of weaving method. The results are as follows; All over type is appropriate when the motive's size is small. And the work can be finished within short time and design can be illustrated by basic jacquard system. However, one point type can represent rather big and audacious motive but it needs lots of working hours and jacquard system. Though the motives are identical, showed many changes in cubicle representation according to weaving methods and the structure. To express simple and modest design, single fabric woven is suitable and in the need of colorful and technical design, expressing by double weft cloths and triple weft cloths rather than single fabric woven are better to give creativity and colorfulness. For the production of jacquard design, cad system using ability is important but the understanding and study of the whole process of weaving development should be made.

소재 개발의 프로세스가 고객 중심으로 다변화 되어가는 생활 환경 속에서 소비자의 감성과 선호도를 파악하는 것은 제품 판매 전략의 중요한 성공요소가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사용자의 감성과 선호도를 중심으로 소재를 개발하는 방법의 하나로 협력적 필터링 개인화 기법을 응용하여 패션 디자인 추천 시스템(FDRS)을 제안한다. Textile 기반의 협력적 필터링 개인화 기술에서, 사용자들간의 유사도 가중치를 계산하기 위해서 피어슨 상판 계수(Pearson Correlation Coefficient)를 사용한다. 소재에 대한 사용자의 감성이나 선호도에 대한 Textile의 대표 감성 형용사를 추출함으로써 소재 개발을 위한 감성 형용사 데이타베이스를 구축한다. 패션 디자인 추천 시스템(FDRS)은 구축된 감성 형용사 데이타베이스를 기반으로 성향이 비슷한 사용자에게 Textile 디자인을 추천한다. 패션 디자인 추천 시스템으로 개발하여 시스템의 논리적 타당성과 유효성을 검증하기 위해 실험적인 적용을 시도하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to implement the textile design applying the floral pattern shown in Korean traditional fabrics and the New-Hanbok Chulic Dress in 3D through a virtual fitting system. As a research method, first, we analyzed the floral pattern types of fabrics in the literature related to traditional Korean textiles. Second, we developed textile designs of traditional flower motifs using 13 extracted flower types. Third, we applied the floral textile designs to the 3D original form of new-Hanbok Dress produced based on design preference survey results. The findings derived through this study are as follows. First, among Korean traditional patterns, the type of flowers used in textiles were blossom of chrysanthemum, orchid, camellia, apricot, peony, peach, pomegranate, hydrangea, narcissus, lotus, plum, chinese rose, and rosa rugosa. Second, this study found that the value of traditional culture can be further increased by using traditional flower patterns as an infinite source of creative design. Third, it was confirmed that the new-Hanbok can be developed endlessly as a clothing design that combines various morphological modifications and patterns without departing from traditional designs. In the future, if the research on costume design using various items of traditional clothing and the development of textile designs based on traditional culture continues, the development of new clothes design that leads to the development of Korean traditional clothing culture and meets the sensibilities of modern people will be endless.

Over the past, the Korean Textile Industry has been able to establish as one of the most competent textile producer of the world. Today, however, with rapidly changing market requirements, the Korean Textile Industry is requested to improve systems for highvalue textile's market. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to propose suggestions for the strategy recommendations in the Korean Textile Design, researching on the highvalue-added Como Textile Design in Italy. As we analyzed them, the bases of their global success are as follows. 1) Participating in the making of the Global Trend in textile design market, Italian design companies lead to move international market influentially. 2) Dividing target depending on the country's textile market, Italian design companies build up their global marketing capability to increase design sale's effect. 3) Organizing and Participating in the international textile design show and fair, Italian companies attempt to set up Italian image creation as the global advertising. 4) Ensuring an adequate supply of human resource, Industry, Labor Unions, Government and Academy have a cooperative relationship to assist each other. In the basis of the above mentioned, we can suggest the strategies to accelate improvement and development in the Korean Textile and Textile Design Industry. 1) It needes to establish a monitoring system for current information in the International Textile Design Industry. 2) It needs to start building up Korean textile companies global marketing capability to produce adaptable design in market's request. 3) It needs to study and to find our traditional motifs continuosly for creating modern design following the recent Design Trend. Finally, It needs to have a close relationship between industry and education to establish human resource for the Korean Textile Industry's future success in the global market.

Recently the word "digital" is widely used in almost every field and is dominating this generation. Digital has become the most significant characteristic representing the 21st century, and is leading change across wide range of our life-styles in our culture and thoughts. New art is in harmony with digital in the 21st century. Digital photography is simpler, faster and newer than the analog system of the past. From ancient times, the nature has been the subject of art, and many designers have studied the ways to create beauty from nature. In this study, I chose the lotus as the subject material of textile design development. The lotus invokes a sense of stillness, and nestles many fluid elements, including the curved fluid lotus, rhythmic lotus petal, sinuous lotus leaf, radial vein, lotus pip and oval seed. Therefore, I tried to use these elements of lotus for development of textile design. For this purpose, I photographed the lotus with a digital camera as equipment of design development. Then, on computer, I have developed six textile designs through the process of modification and editing by using the adobe illustrator program.

In this study, textile designs were developed by applying Norigae for motives, were digital-printed for it's eco-friendly, delicate and short printing time and as final products, necktie, bag and bedding was developed with them. The purposes of this study were to develop a unique textile design, and then to enhance the competitiveness of Korean textile industry in the world market and pass down a Korean traditional fiber art cultural legacy. The results are as follows Norigaes are a sort of Korean traditional ornaments worn on women's Korean traditional costume. These can vary in color, material, shape, composition and said to have very high artistic value from the standpoint of the modern view. And these are symbols of happiness and women's longing of Korean traditional society. So Norigaes are worthy of applying Korean traditional motive for modern textile design. The textile designs applied a Norigae in this study were estimated comparatively high.
