  • Platform screen dorr (PSD) is equipment composed of screens and doors on the platform of subways or light trains, separating the platform from the railroad. The equipment is opened and closed in connection to the doors of carriages. In order to operate the system safely, it is important to understand the characteristics of key parts. There are many parts and environmental factors such as voltage, current and temperature change but the present study measured the change rate of torque and energy changes according to the temperature of the driving motor and analyzed the characteristics of the changes and examined the features of a motor required for stable PDS and the conformability of control programs.

  • The measurement study of instantaneous temperature at combustion chamber wall and the temperature of combustion gas has been under lots of research and development to conclude the temperature process in internal combustion engine for combustion characteristics analysis. The measurement with fast responsibility should be used for temperature measurement inside combustion chamber wall since temperature of wall changes, due to the various gas temperature, irregularly during the combustion. Therefore, thin film instantaneous surface temperature probe, which characterizes the fastest and the most accurate responsibility among contact typed temperature measurement, was used for the experiments. This new thin film instantaneous surface temperature probe improved the problems of noise and durability. The optimal coating thickness of thin film instantaneous surface temperature probe was proven to be $10{\mu}m$ for the best responsibility and durability. It also allowed the stable temperature measurement be taken up to $1,200^{\circ}C$ and proven to be read possibly from the combustion chamber wall.

  • In this work, a Voltage-to-Frequency Converter.(VFC) in which the output frequency is proportional to the input voltage is proposed. To obtain temperature stable characteristics the VFC is designed by using two bandgap references. The difference between simulated and calculated values is less than about 5% in output characteristics. In the VFC using BiCMOS the temperature variation of sample output frequencies is less than $\pm$0.5% in the temperature range -$25^{\circ}C$ to 75$^{\circ}C$. And the CMOS VFC has error less than $\pm$0.8% in the temperature range -$25^{\circ}C$ to 75'$^{\circ}C$.

  • Anodizing is a technology to generate thicker and high-quality films than natural oxide films by treating metals via electrochemical methods. It is a technique to develop metals for various uses, and extensive research on the commercial use has been performed for a long time. Aluminum anodic oxide (AAO) is generate oxide films, whose sizes and characteristics depending on the types of electrolytes, voltages, temperatures and time. Electrochemical manufacturing method of nano structure is an efficient technology in terms of cost reduction, high productivity and complicated shapes, which receives the spotlight in diverse areas. The sulfuric acid was used as an anodizing electrolyte, controlling its temperature to $10^{\circ}C$. The anode was 5083 Al alloy with dimension of $5(t){\times}20{\times}20mm$ while the cathode was the platinum. The distance between the anode and the cathode was maintained at 3 cm. Agitation was introduced by magnetic stirrer at 300 rpm to prevent localized temperature rise that hinders stable growth of oxide layer. In order to observe surface characteristics with applied current density, the electrolyte temperature, concentration was maintained at constant condition for $10^{\circ}C$, 10 vol.%, respectively. To prevent hindrance of stable growth of oxide layer due to local temperature increase during the experiment, stirring was maintained at constant rate. In addition, using galvanostatic method, it was maintained at current density of $10{\sim}30mA/cm^2$ for 40 minutes. The cavitation experiment was carried out with an ultrasonic vibratory apparatus using piezo-electric effect with modified ASTM-G32. The peak-to-peak amplitude was $30{\mu}m$ and the distance between the horn tip and specimen was 1 mm. The specimen after the experiment was cleaned in an ultrasonic, dried in a vacuum oven for more than 24 hours, and weighed with an electric balance. The surface damage morphology was observed with 3D analysis microscope. As a result of the investigation, differences were observed surface hardness and anti-cavitation characteristics depending on the development of oxide film with applied current density.

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) variables on performance and emission characteristics in a 2-liter 4-cylinder spark-ignition LPG fuelled engine. The effects of EGR on the reduction of thermal loading at exhaust manifold were also investigated because the reduced gas temperature is desirable for the reliability of an engine in light of both thermal efficiency and material issue of exhaust manifold. The steady-state tests show that the brake thermal efficiency increased and the brake specific fuel consumption decreased with the increase of EGR rate in hot EGR and with the decrease of EGR temperature in case of cooled EGR, while the stable combustion was maintained. The increase of EGR rate or the decrease of EGR temperature results in the reduction of NOx emission even in the increase of HC emission. Furthermore, decreasing EGR temperature by $180^{\circ}C$ enabled the reduction of exhaust gas temperature by $15^{\circ}C$ in cooled EGR test at 1600rpm/370kPa BMEP operation, and consequently the reduction of thermal load at exhaust. The optimization strategy of EGR application is to be discussed by the investigation on the effect of geometrical characteristics of EGR-supplying pipe line.

고온, 고속기류 중에 수직 분사되는 연료제트의 분무 및 연소특성 (Characteristics of the Spray and Combustion in the Liquid Jet)

  • In this paper, spray and combustion characteristics of a liquid-fueled ramjet engine were experimentally investigated. The spray penetrations were measured to clarify the spray characteristics of a liguid jet injected transversely into the subsonic vitiated airstream, which is maintained a high velocity and temperature. The spray penetrations are increased with decreasing airstream velocity, increasing airstream temperature, and increasing air-fuel momentum ratio. To compensate our results of penetrations, the new experimental equation were modified from Inamura's equation. In the case of insufficient penetration, the combustion phenomenon in ram-combustor were unstable. Therefore, the temperature distribution was slanted to the low wall of the ram-combustor. These trends gradually disappeared as the length and air temperature of the combustor became longer. Combustion efficiency increased when the length of the combustor was long and the air temperature was high.   • The bias characteristics due to the changes of temperature and temperature gradient of fiber coil are investigated in fiber-optic gyroscope. The bias performance is degraded with the changes of temperature and temperature gradient of fiber coil. The temperature compensation using both the temperature-dependent bias measurement and the temperature-induced error model of fiber-optic gyroscope improves the bias stability about 3 times as much as the uncompensated original case, which leads to very stable bias performance over the temperature range from $-35^{\circ}C$ to $+77^{\circ}C$.

  • In order to investigate the electrical characteristics due to the curing condition of silicone gel for Power Semiconductor, the V-I characteristics is studied. For experiment, We have made up several samples of different curing temperature and time such as 1[H],2[H] at 150[$^{\circ}C$], 160[$^{\circ}C$], 170[$^{\circ}C$]. As a result of the V-I characteristics, it is confirmed that the properties of specimen cured at 170[$^{\circ}C$], 2[H] is stable.

대용량 변압기유의 전기적특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical Properties of Transformer Oils for Large Power)

  • In order to investigate the electrical properties of transformer oils for large power, the characteristics of AC and Impulse breakdown in gap length of 1.0~2.5mm and that of volume resistivity were researched in temperature range of 20~$100^{\circ}C$. An geometrical capacitance of electrode with coaxial cylindrical shape for measuring the volume resistivity was 16pF, and highmegohm meter with model no. VMG-1000 was used, and also the applied voltage were DC 100, 250 and 500V. In the dependance of breakdown characteristics due to electrode gap length, it was confirmed that breakdown voltage was nearly uniform by volume effect according to the increase of gap. In the characteristics for AC breakdown, the dielectric strength was increased to $90^{\circ}C$ but decreased over $90^{\circ}C$, and also in case of impulse breakdown, it was increased to 7$0^{\circ}C$ and at dated $70^{\circ}C$ over in temperature range. The calculated mobility of oils in the characteristics for impulse breakdown were about $10^{-5}$~$10^{-4}cm^2/V{\cdot}S$, and the value of volume resistivity was almost invariable in low temperature range, regardless of voltage by the stable thermal properties, and it indicated a peak at $50^{\circ}C$ and had a sudden change to decrease over that temperature, and also the value of volume resistivity in 250V/mm at $80^{\circ}C$ is suitable for the International electrical standards, it was confirmed.
