이온넨 단위를 가지는 광경화성 반응성 올리고머를 이용한 내수성 습도센서의 제조 및 감습 특성 (Preparation of Water-Resistant Humidity Sensor Using Photocurable Reactive Oligomers Containing Ionene Unit and Their Properties)

  • 내수성 감습막으로 사용하기 위하여 이온넨을 포함하는 광경화성 반응성 올리고머(PIDM)로부터 새로운 종류의 전해질 고분자를 제조하였다. PIDM, hexamethylene dimethacrylate(HDM), pentaerythritol triacrylate dimer(SP1013) 및 광개시제를 혼합하여 전극에 광개시 라디칼 중합과 동시에 도포하였다. 또한, 센서의 내수성 그리고 고온/고습에서의 안정성을 증진시키기 위하여 전극 기판에 비닐기를 가지는 실란 카플링제를 사용하여 전처리 하였다. 가교화된 이온넨으로 이루어진 습도센서의 상대습도에 대한 저항을 측정하였을 때, 저항은 20%$\sim$90%RH 상대습도 영역에서 $10^3$의 값이 변화하였으며 이것은 대기의 습도를 측정하는데 요구되는 특성을 만족시키고 있다. 그 밖에 온도의존성, 히스테리시스 응답 및 회복속도, 내수성 그리고 고온/고습에서 장기 안정성을 측정하여 습도센서로서 특성을 평가하였다.

Synthesis and characterization of sugarcane bagasse/zinc aluminium and apple peel/zinc aluminium biocomposites: Application for removal of reactive and acid dyes

  • In this research work, synthesis of sugarcane bagasse/zinc aluminium biocomposite and apple peel/zinc aluminium biocomposite and their application for removal of Reactive Red-241 and Acid Orange-7, respectively, was studied using various parameters. At pH 2 the sorption was the highest for both dyes. The trend showed that the dye sorption declined by decreasing the biocomposite dose and enhanced by increasing the dye concentration and temperature. Equilibrium was achieved at 60 minutes for Reactive Red-241 onto sugarcane bagasse/zinc aluminium biocomposite and 90 minutes for Acid Orange-7 onto apple peel/zinc aluminium biocomposite.The research data was good fitted to pseudo-2nd-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm. FT-IR analysis was used to confirm the biosorption of the selected dyes at the surface of biosorbent through various binding sites. Surface morphology modification of both biocomposites before and after biosorption was inspected through SEM. Crystallinity of biocomposite was examined through XRD analysis. It was implied that sugarcane bagasse/ zinc aluminium biocomposite and apple peel/ zinc aluminium biocomposite are good adsorbents for dyes elimination from aqueous solutions.

중성욕 고착형 반응성 염료의 제조 및 그의 염색성 (Preparation and Dyeability of Reactive Dyes Fixable at Neutral pH)

  • In order to study the dyeability of reactive dyes fixable at neutral pH, three reactive dyes(DYE-NC, DYE-PC, and DYE-LC) were prepared by the reaction of Cibacron Brilliant Red 3B-A with nicotinic acid, pyridine, and lutidine, respectively. FT-IR and UV/Vis spectrophometry were used to identify the dyes prepared. While the maximum absorption wavelength (&{\lambda}_{max}&) of Cibacron Brilliant Red 3B-A was 515nm, the &{\lambda}_{max}& of DYE-NC, DYE-PC, and DYE-LC were 522nm, 525nm, and 536nm, respectively. The &{\lambda}_{max}& was shifted to the longer wavelength by introducing the electron donating groups to the pyridine ring of Cibacron Brilliant Red 3B-A. All of the reactive dyes synthesized showed good exhaustion and fixation property to cotton fabric at higher temperature and neutral pH condition. It was regarded that the quaternary pyridinium ion functionated as the leaving group instead of the chloride ion. Among them, DYE-NC showed the best dyeability at the above condition. It was considered that the electron withdrawing carboxylic acid group in nicotinic acid enhanced the cationic property of nitrogn in pyridine ring, resulting the good reactivity with OH group in cellulose.

Capacity of Activated Carbon Derived from Agricultural Waste in the Removal of Reactive Dyes from Aqueous Solutions

  • The study describes the results of batch experiments on the removal of Reactive Yellow 15 (RY15) and Reactive Black 5 (RB5) from synthetic textile wastewater onto Activated Carbon from Walnut shell (ACW). The experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir, Freundlish, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models of adsorption. The experiments were carried out as function of initial concentrations, pH, temperature (303-333), adsorbent dose and kinetics. The surface area and pore volumes of adsorbent were measured by BET and BJH methods. The findings confirm the surface area (BET) is 248.99 $m^2/g$. The data fitted well with the Temkin and D-R isotherms for RY15 and RB5, respectively. The most favorable adsorption occurred in acidic pH. Pseudo-second order kinetic model were best in agreement with adsorption of RY15 and RB5 on ACW. The results indicate that walnut shell could be an alternative to more costly adsorbent currently being used for dyes removal.

반응소결법에 의해 엔진밸브 형상으로 제조한 TiAl-Mn 금속간화합물의 특성 (Processing and Properties of Engine Valve-shaped TiAl-Mn Intermetallics by Reactive Sintering)

  • Engine valve-shaped TiAl-Mn intermetallics containing 43.5 to 47.5at%Al (Mn/Al=0.036) are successively fabricated by reactive sintering the elemental powder mixtures near-net shaped by extrusion and die forging. A duplex structure consisted of lamellar grains and equiaxed $\gamma$ grains is developed for all compositions, and the areal fraction of the lamellar grains(or equiaxed $\gamma$ grains) decreases (or increases) with increasing Al content. As Al content increased, the elongation increases with accompanying decrease in yield strength and ultimate tensile strength at both room temperature and 80$0^{\circ}C$. This indicates that the suitable composition is Ti-45at%Al-1.6at%Mn in considering the balance of ambient and elevated tensile properties. The reactive-sintered Ti-45Al-1.6Mn alloy shows superior oxidation resistance not only to the plasma arc melted one but also to the heat resistance steel STR35(representative exhaust valve head material for automotive engine). The reactive-sintered Ti-45Al-1.6Mn alloy coated with an oxidizing scale exhibits a better wear resistance than induction hardened martensitic steel STR11(representative exhaust valve tip material for automotive engine).

Reactive Extrusion of Starch-g-Polyacrylonitrile in the Preparation of Absorbent Materials

  • A new method for the graft polymerization of acrylonitrile onto starch is presented. Graft polymerization of acrylonitrile onto starch and the subsequent hydrolysis in sodium hydroxide solution to prepare absorbents is well known. This process has been utilized to produce the commercial product, Super Slurper. In a typical batch process, ~5% starch in water mixture is gelatinized at $95^{\circ}C$ under stirring for 1 hour then cooled to room temperature. The graft polymerization itself is carried out for approximately 2 hours at $25~30^{\circ}C$ on the gelatinized starch by eerie ion initiation. In this study, graft polymerization of acrylonitrile onto starch via a reactive extrusion process which is a continuous, efficient process is described. Initial concentration of starch in water is 35% and the reaction temperatures are between $50~80^{\circ}C$. However, the most significant difference in the reactive extrusion process is the short time in which the graft polymerization takes place. Preliminary results on the properties of graft polymerization products obtained from the reactive extrusion process are compared to those obtained from the batch process as well as the absorbency of the hydrolyzed samples. Absorbent material has also been prepared by sequential grafting and saponification in the extruder followed by a 2 hour heat treatment of the extrudate in an air circulated oven at $100^{\circ}C$.

N2O 반응 가스를 주입한 RF Reactive Magnetron Sputtering에 의한 ZrO2 박막의 구조 및 부식특성 연구 (Structural and Corrosive Properties of ZrO2 Thin Films using N2O as a Reactive Gas by RF Reactive Magnetron Sputtering)

  • A $ZrO_2$ thin film as a corrosion protective layer was deposited on Zircaloy-4 (Z-4) clad material using $N_2O$ as a reactive gas by RF reactive magnetron sputtering at room temperature. The Z-4 substrate was located in plasma or out of plasma during the $ZrO_2$ deposition process to investigate mechanical and corrosive properties for the plasma immersion. Tetragonal and monoclinic phases were existed in $ZrO_2$ thin film immersed in plasma. We observed that a grain size of the $ZrO_2$ thin film immersed in plasma state is larger than that of the $ZrO_2$ thin film out of plasma state. In addition, the corrosive property of the $ZrO_2$ thin films in the plasma was characterized using the weight gains of Z-4 after the corrosion test. Compared with the $ZrO_2$ thin film immersed out of plasma, the weight gains of $ZrO_2$ thin film immersed in plasma were larger. These results indicate that the $ZrO_2$ film with the tetragonal phase in the $ZrO_2$ can protect the Z-4 from corrosive phenomena.

생물학적 숙신산 생산을 위한 반응추출공정의 적용 (Application Of Reactive Extraction to Biologica1 Production of Succinic Acid)

  • 이상을 통해 숙신산 분리정제를 위한 반응추출의 원리와 연구개발 및 적용 사례를 살펴보았다. 반응추출은 에너지가 적게 드는 고효율 생물분리공정이라는 장점을 확인 할 수 있었으며 향후 카르복실산 이외에 항생제를 비롯한 다양한 생물분자들의 분리정제에 적용할 수 있는 높은 응용 가능성을 갖고 있다. 그러나 특정 카르복실산의 회수를 목적으로 할 경우 추출제의 pH제한성은 극복되어야 할 문제점으로 작용할 수도 있다. 이와 병행하여 추출된 특정 카르복실산의 효과적인 회수 및 용매 재활용을 위한 재생공정의 개발도 요구된다. 기존에는 온도-스윙-재생법(temperature-swing-regeneration, TSR)이나 희석제-스윙-재생법 (diluent-swing-regeneration, DSR)을 주로 사용하였으나 회수율이 낮은 단점이 있다. 반응추출 공정의 경제성 향상을 위해서는 이를 개량하거나 대체할 수 있는 공정의 개발이 요구된다. 아울러 발효공정의 수율향상과 생성물의 동시분리를 위해 반응추출을 발효공정에 in-situ로 적용하기 위해서는 추출제 및 희석제의 생물적합성 향상을 위한 연구도 필요하다.

반응성 동시 증착법에 의한 As-grown $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ 박막의 결정 특성 및 표면형상에 관한 연구 (Crystalline Qualities and Surface Morphologies of As-Grown $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ Thin Films on MgO(100) Substrate by Reactive Coevaporation Method)

  • The as-grown $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ superconducting thin films on MgO(100) substrate have been prepared by a reactive coevaporation method. The superconducting transition temperature, surface morphology and crystalline quality were examined as a function of the substrate temperature ranging from $450^{\circ}C$ to $590^{\circ}C$. From the reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) analysis, it was found the film consisted of almost amorphous phase with a halo pattern deposited at the substrate temperature of $450^{\circ}C$. The film deposited at the substrate temperature of $510^{\circ}C$ consisted of polycrystalline phase, showing a broad ring pattern. On the other hand, for the film deposited at $590^{\circ}C$, RHEED showed spotty pattern indicating that this film consisted of single crystal phase. It has rough film surface due to the surface outgrowth. The surface outgrowth increased as the substrate temperature increased from $510^{\circ}C$ to $590^{\circ}C$. the surface outgrowth may be due to the anisotropic growth rate. The highest transition temperature obtained in this study was $Tc_{zero}$ of 83K with $Tc_{onset}$ of 88K for the film deposited at $590^{\circ}C$ using activated RF oxygen plasma.

고온 스트레인 게이지용 질화탄탈박막의 제작 (Fabrication of Tantalum Nitride Thin-Film as High-temperature Strain Gauges)

  • This paper presents the characteristics of TaN thin-film as high-temperature strain gauges, which were deposited on Si substrate by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmosphere(Ar-(4∼20%)N$_2$). The electrical and mechanical characteristics of these films investigated with the thickness range 1650∼1870${\AA}$ and room temperature resistivities in the range 178.3 ${\mu}$$\Omega$cm to 3175.7 ${\mu}$$\Omega$cm. The TaN thin-film strain gauge deposited in Ar-(20%)N$_2$atmosphere is obtained a temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR), 0∼-1357 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ in the temperature range 25∼275$^{\circ}C$ and a high temporal stability with a longitudinal gauge factor, 2.92∼3.47. Because of their high resistivity, low TCR and linear gauge factor, these cermet thin-film may allow high-temperature strain gauges miniaturization.
