  • A convective, radiating rectangular fin is analysed by using the one dimensional analytic method. Instead of constant fin base temperature, heat conduction from the inner wall to the fin base is considered as the fin base boundary condition. Radiation heat transfer is approximately linearized. For different fin tip length, temperature profile along the normalized fin position is shown. The fin tip length for 98% of the maximum heat loss with the variations of fin base length and radiation characteristic number is listed. The maximum heat loss is presented as a function of the fin base length, radiation characteristic number and Biot number.

  • Creep characteristic is an important failure mechanism when evaluating engineering materials that are soft material as polymers or used as mechanical elements at high temperatures. One of the popular thermo-elastic polymers, Polycarbonate(PC) which is used broadly for engineering polymer, as it has excellent mechanical and thermal properties compared to other polymers, was studied for creep characteristic at various level of stresses and temperatures. From the experimental results, the creep limit of PC at room temperature is 85 % of tensile strength. which is higher than PE (75%)at room temperature. Also the creep limits decreased exponentially as the temperatures increased, up to 50 % of the melting point($267^{\circ}C$). Also the first and third stage among the three creep stages was non-existent nor was there any rupture failure which occurred for many metals.

  • A high temperature superconductor (HTS) has been developed for power applications such as power cables, fault current limiters and superconducting magnetic energy storage devices. For such applications it is required to understand the DC voltage-current characteristic of the HTS. which is important in analyzing AC loss and flux flow loss quantitatively. In this work, we have experimentally investigated influence of several factors, e.g. critical current density. degradation and AC external magnetic field, on the DC voltage-current characteristic. The measured results have been discussed in engineering application point of view.

  • In this paper, the energy conversion theory of the linear actuator deals with the temperature characteristic analysis with verifying temperature of linear Actuator system This model of linear actuator has winding part and mechanical spring, and a plunger. This paper proposed and experimented the linear Actuator(LA) by using finite difference equation(FDE). The experimental result represented the temperature T1 and T2 which remarks Tl is a center of magnetic road inside of actuator winding part, and T2 is a surface of actuator winding part. And the temperature characteristic of the actuator winding part are experimented by the digital temperature meter TECPEL 322.

  • This paper is studied on a protective control system for electrical fire and electrical faults due to over current or electric short circuit faults by using electrical thermal characteristics of PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor and current response characteristics of high sensitive reed switch. The PTC thermistor has characteristic of positive resistivity temperature coefficient according to the temperature variation, which is construction of a regular square and cube demarcation with BaTiO3_Ceramics of positive temperature coefficient. Also PTC thermistor shows the phenomenon which is rapidly increased in the resistivity if the temperature is increased over Curie temperature point, and reed switch, which is used for electrical fault current sensing devices, have a excellent characteristic of response velocity in degree of ${\mu}s{\sim}ms$ that sensing magnetic flux in proportion to dimension of line current. This paper is proposed on a protective control system use PTC thermistor and reed switch for sensor which is protected from electrical fire due to overload faults or electric short circuit faults. Some experimental results of the proposed electric safety control device are confirmed to the validity of the analytical results.

  • The study was conducted experimentally on characteristic of thermal decomposition and minimum ignition temperature of magnesium dusts. For this purpose, three different Mg dusts of mean diameter (38, 142, $567{\mu}m$) were used. Experimental investigations were conducted by using TGA(Thermo gravimetric analysis) and MIT(Minimum Ignition Temperature) apparatus made in accordance with IEC 61241-2-1 standard. As the results, temperature of weight gain in Mg dust layers increased with increasing of heating rates in air and, under the same heating rate condition, minimum ignition temperature increased with particle size. Also the MIT of suspended Mg dust clouds tended to increase with increasing of mean diameter.

  • The pressurization system in a liquid rocket propulsion system provides a controlled gas pressure in the ullage space of the vehicle propellant tanks. It is advantage to employ a hot gas heat exchanger in the pressurization system to increase the specific volume of the pressurant and thereby reduce over-all system weight. A significant improvement in pressurization-system performance can be achieved, particularly in a cryogenic system, where the gas supply is stored inside the cryogenic propellant tank. The temperature characteristic of cryogenic pressurant is very important to develop some components in pressurization system. Numerical modeling and Test data were studied using SINDA/FLUINT Program and PTF(Propellant-feeding Test Facility).

  • The Heated Tube Facility(HIF) was fabricated to identify the forced convective heat transfer and the cooling characteristic for the hydrocarbon fuel(Jet A-1), which is used for the coolant of the regenerative cooling system. The forced convective heat transfer coefficient was calculated from the measured coolant and tube surface temperature. In case of using the Jet A-1, the maximum heat flux which the coolant can absorb was identified by determining the critical wall temperature generating the burnout on the fixed flow condition. The inlet bulk-temperature of the coolant has a direct influence on the forced convective heat transfer characteristic.

  • Using liquefied natural gas as a fuel, water, natural gas and liquefied natural gas-cooled firing tests were conducted. With the viewpoint of characteristic velocity, and specific impulse, the effect of OF mixture ratio and fuel inlet temperature into a combustion chamber were analyzed. OF mixture ratio and fuel inlet temperature into a combustion chamber have great influence on the performance. Characteristic velocity and theoretical specific impulse attain the maximum value at 0.72~0.75 and 0.75 of OF mixture ratio, respectively. Engine performance has a tendency to increase, proportional to fuel inlet temperature into a combustion chamber affected by the regenerative cooling.
