  • In this paper, we demonstrate the impact of oxide interface-state on low temperature poly-Si TFTs. The TFTs with interface-state exhibit poor performance and serious degradation under hot carrier and gate bias stress. Our results indicate that the worse oxide integrity cause initial characteristic shift and device instability.

  • An air flow measurement device is proposed. The thermal characteristic of a semiconductor element is adopted as a cooling parameter of thermal convection rate. The difference between forced convection and natural convection of two Zener diodes results enough difference in temperature. Experiment at various air flow conditions shows the measuring capability of the air flow in a duct. This measuring device has some merits, such as a reliability n hard field condition, simple circuit for signal processing, small volume of the element, less air flow resistance, independance of various ai temperature. The experimental result shows that it is an exact and usefull air flow measurement device.

  • BSCCO thin films are fabricated via a co-deposition process at an ultra-low growth rate using ion beam sputtering. The sticking coefficient of Bi element exhibits a characteristic temperature dependence. This temperature dependence of the sticking coefficient was explained consistently on the basis of the evaporation and sublimation processes of Bi$_2$O$_3$.

  • During braking at a train, thermal energy is generated due to the frictions between disk and lining and wheel and shoe. In general, the braking transfers the kinetic energy into thermal energy. Therefore. the frictional characteristics are varied according to the braking force, the thermal resistance, and the thermostable, etc. Using a Dynamo testing we have studied the frictional characteristics and the thermal distribution to investigate a stable speed and to improve the testing method through comparing and analysing in the measurement or the thermocouple temperature and infrared camera.

  • In this paper, we investigated the wear rate, braking temperature and stopping distance of the composite brake shoe for diesel locomotive in the field test. The wear rate and braking temperature of the composite brake shoe would rather than cast iron. Also, the stopping distance of composite brake shoe is 450m at 100km/h. This result of field test shown that the density distribution of the composite brake shoe influence on wear rate.

  • In this study. CT specimens were prepared from ASME SA5l6 which was used for pressure vessel plates for room and low temperature service. And we got the following characteristics from fatigue crack growth test carried out in the environment of room and low temperature at $25^{\circ}C$, -3$0^{\circ}C$, -6$0^{\circ}C$, -8$0^{\circ}C$, -10$0^{\circ}C$ and -12$0^{\circ}C$ in the range of stress ratio of 0.1 by means of opening mode displacement. At the constant stress ratio, the threshold stress intensity factor range ΔKsub/th/ in the early stage of fatigue crack growth ( Region I) and stress intensity factor range ΔK in the stable of fatigue crack growth ( Region II) was increased in proportion to descend temperature. It assumed that the fatigue resistance characteristics and fracture strength at low temperature is considerable higher than that of room temperature in the early stage and stable of fatigue crack growth region. The straight line slope relation of logarithm da.dN -ΔK in RegionII, that is, the fatigue crack growth exponent m increased with descending temperature at the constant stress ratio. It assumed that the fatigue crack growth rate da/dN is rapid in proportion to descend temperature in Region II and the cryogenic-brittleness greatly affect a material with decreasing temperature.

A Study on Thickness and Temperature Dependence of Dielectric Breakdown in Polyethylene (폴리에틸렌의 절연파괴와 그의 온도 및 두께의존성)

  • The characteristic of dielectric breakdown in solid insulating material dominates the reliability and safety of power equipment and affects directly to its life. In this point of view, the thickness and temperature dependence of dielectric breakdown strength and mechanism of dielectric breakdown in low density polyethylene which has been employed widely as insulating material have been technically reviewed by examinations of thermal property. The dielectric breakdown strength depending on its thickness was measured 2.6[MV/cm] at the thickness of 20[${\mu}m$] and 1.9[MV/cm] at the thickness of 75[${\mu}m$] based on ambient temperature of 30[$^{\circ}C$]. It is shown the temperature dependence that dielectric breakdown strength decreases in linear as the thickness increases. The dielectric breakdown strength depending on temperature was measured 2.6[MV/cm] at the temperature of 30[$^{\circ}C$], 1.6[MV/cm] at 60[$^{\circ}C$] and 1.3[MV/cm] at 90[$^{\circ}C$] based on the thickness of 20[${\mu}m$]. As the ambient temperature increases, the temperature dependence is shown that a very large drop is occurred up to temperature of 60[$^{\circ}C$] and a very small drop is discovered over 60[$^{\circ}C$].

  • This paper examined the possibility of NET application for a relative weather stress index in Korea. The characteristic of NET distribution used temperature, relative humidity, wind speed which forecasting at Korean Meteorological Administration were analyzed. Regional critical values of daily maximum NET of stress index for summer resembled the distribution of daily maximum temperature because were not impacted wind and humidity but temperature. Regional critical values of daily minimum NET of stress index for winter distributed variously compared with summer. The highland region and the northern region of Seoul were impacted of low temperature and coastal region which strong wind. The occurrences of stressful days did not vary in summer, but obviously increased in winter after mid-1990s.

The study of combustion gas characteristic by incinerator operation condition. (소각로 운영조건에 따른 연소배가스 특성 연구)

  • This study was done to analyze the condition of combustion exhaust gas that is produced according to incinerator operating condition in A area Kyonggido. The boiler exhaust gas temperature, the oxygen concentration of boiler, the outgassing temperature of Semi Drying Sorber(SDS), the temperature of catalytic reactor, the concentration of NOx, SOx, CO, Hcl and Dust were investigated by change the temperature of incinerator. The concentration of SOx, CO, HCL and DUST were below 5 ppm as increase the temperature of incinerator however the concentration of NOx was increased from 40 ppm to 70 ppm as increase the temperature of incinerator. The boiler exhaust gas temperature and the temperature of catalytic reactor were not changed however the oxygen concentration of boiler was decreased gradually as increase the temperature of incinerator.
