Claesson(2001)'s analytical solution, and two numerical models with Dirichlet and Neuman interior boundary condition respectively were investigated to estimate the transient temperature distribution with distances from the Taejon underground food cold storage pilot cavern. Claesson's solution, which is based on constant temperature boundary condition at the rock wall during a temperature decline step, showed relatively good agreement with temperature measurements in the rock mass in order of average error difference, 0.89$\^{C}$ without any adjustments on laboratory thermal properties to represent the rock mass. For the numerical model with heat flux through the rock wall, a boundary condition setting technique was newly proposed to overcome the difficulty of prescribing variable convective heat tranfer coefficient and far-field air temperature inside the cavern as they may be certainly changed according to the cooling-down time. The results showed also good agreement with measurements in order of average error difference, 1.58$\^{C}$, and were compared to those of the numerical model with fixed temperature at the rock wall. Finally, the most proper procedure to precisely predict the temperature profile around a cavern was proposed as a series of analysis steps including an analytical exact solution and numerical models.

A numerical stack model has been developed to predict the temperature at a constant-load operation of molten carbonate fuel cell stacks. For the validity of the model, the simulated results with several boundary conditions were compared in the cell temperature data obtained from 75 kW class MCFC stack operation. It was shown that the simulated results with the existing boundary condition, which the stack outlet temperature was fixed at $650^{\circ}C$, didn't match well with the measured data. On the other hand, the stack model with the outlet temperature modified by the outlet manifold temperature measured from the stack under several electric loads was found to explain the measured cell temperature distribution well. The results show that the model can be used to predict the cell temperature distribution in the stacks by the measurement of the manifold outlet temperature.

The effects of thermal cycle condition and applied stress on the intergranular corrosion in austenitic 316 type stainless steels were investigated. Specimens were solution-treated at 1100$^{\circ}C$ for one hour and then sensitized in the temperature range of $500{\sim}800^{\circ}C$ by holding $2{\sim}300s$ with a various applied stresses of $0{\sim}8kg/mm^2$. Degree of sensitization. DOS %, was measured through polarization curve by electrochemical DL-EPR test. Microstructural observations were also conducted DOS % increased with an increase of sensitization temperature and/or holding time. Increase of applied stress resulted in increase of DOS % and more corroded surface because of acceleration of intergranular corrosion and fine grain size due to the stress. Cr depleted zone near grain boundary was observed. The amount of depletion was profounded with an increase of sensitization temperature, holding time and applied stress. $M_{23}C_6$ carbides were precipitated discontinuously at grain boundary. However, its amount was relatively small in the thermal cycle condition of 800$^{\circ}C$, 300sec and 4kg/mm$^2$.

A concrete filled square steel tube (CFT) is composed of the external steel material, which its strength is reduced in fire due to sudden temperature increase, and the internal concrete with high thermal capacity that can ensure the fire resistance performance of the structure. Therefore, research about the influence factors of the structural performance of CFT column is required in order to apply CFT column to a fire resisting structure, and additional research about influence for each condition is also necessary. Among the influence factors, the boundary condition between column and beam is important structurally, and it is one of the major factors that determine overall fire resisting performance. This study performed a fire experiment under loading in order to analyse the influences of CFT column to the boundary condition. As the results of the experiment, fire resistance time of 106 minutes was ensured for the clamped-end condition but 89 minutes for the hinge-end condition in case of the 360 cross section. And, fire resistance time of 113 minutes was ensured for the clamped-end condition but 78 minutes for the hinge-end condition in case of the 280 cross section.
The objective of this work is to propose calibration facility in which a thin film type heat flux sensor can be calibrated under convective flow condition by using a small wind tunnel with the constant temperature plate condition. A small wind tunnel has been built to produce a boundary layer shear flow above a constant temperature copper plate. 12-independent copper blocks, thin film heaters, insulators and temperature controllers were used to keep the temperature of flat plate constant at a specified temperature. Three commercial thin film-type heat flux sensors were tested. Convective calibrations of these gages were performed over the available heat flux range of $1.4{\sim}2.5kW/m^2$. The uncertainty in the heat flux measurements in the convective-type heat flux calibration facility was ${\pm}2.07%$. Non-dimensional sensitivity is proposed to compare the sensitivity calibrated by manufacturer and that of experiment conducted in this study.
This present study analyzed temperature depreciation ratio of window inside surface by KS F 2295 'Procedure for determining fenestration product condensation resistance values'. it estimated window indoor surface condensation due to variable environmental condition. Performance of condensation resistance by using temperature depreciation ratio until applied Low-e and Ar glazing improved about 45% from 24 mm clear. Temperature depreciation ratio by KS F 2295 considers analytic index of window condensation due to variable boundary condition.

Recently the non-destructive test technique which uses the grain boundary etching characteristics owing to the variation of material structures has been proposed. However, during in-serviced GEM test there are a lot of variables such as the changes of temperature and concentration of etching solution, the roughness condition of surface polished etc.. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influences of these test variables on GEM test results in order to establish a reliable and sensitive of GEM evaluation technique. The experiments are conducted in various solution temperatures, 10$\^{C}$, 15$\^{C}$, 20$\^{C}$, and 25$\^{C}$ and in 70% and 100% concentrations of that, and in various surface roughnesses polished by #800, #2000, and 0.3㎛ alumina powder. Through the test with variables, it is verified that the decrease of temperature and concentration of etching solution and the coarsened surface roughness by not using polishing cloth and powder induce some badly and/or greatly influences on GEM test results like grain boundary etching width(W$\_$GB) and intersecting point ratio(N$\_$i/N$\_$0/). Therefore, to get reliable and good GEM test results, it must be prepared the surface of specimen polished by polishing cloth and 0.3㎛ alumina powder and the saturated picric acid solution having 25$\^{C}$ and be maintained the constant temperature(25$\^{C}$) during GEM test.

A fin of finite width with infinitely small thickness is assumed to be placed horizontally between two horizontal parallel plates of infinite extension in the exactly central position. The lower plate and the half of the upper plate are kept at a constant lower temperature, and the remaining upper plate is kept at a constant higher temperature. The fin is also kept at a constant temperature (variable). Steady-state two-dimensional laminar natural convection is analyzed as a problem of boundary value under a boundary-fitted conformal mapping system, using a spectral finite difference scheme, with a condition of doubly-connectedness. The steady-state solution is obtained as a limit of the transient solution.
Direct numerical solution for flow and heat transfer for Benard convection with a body is obtained using an accurate and efficient Fourier-Chebyshev collocation and multi-domain method. The flow and temperature fields are obtained fur different Rayleigh numbers and thermal boundary conditions of body. The body has adiabatic and constant temperature conditions. The existence of a body gives different flow and heat transfer fields in the system, compared to pure Benard convection. The flow and temperature fields are also affected by the thermal boundary condition of a body.
Numerical analysis of aerodynamic heating for KPSAM is performed using aerodynamic heating model suitable to KPSAM, which has complex flow field resulting from the spike attached to the dome, such as large separation area and the strong shock/boundary layer interaction region around reattachment point on the dome. The aerodynamic heating model is validated and modified through the comparison between the flight test measurement and the thermal analysis results. TFD temperature sensors are installed on the dome to measure surface temperature during the flight. Computation results, obtained from the heat transfer analysis on the sensors, agree well with flight test data. The aerodynamic heating model provides heat transfer rate into surface as a boundary condition of unsteady 1D/axisymmetric thermal analysis on the missile structure. The axisymmetric thermal analysis using FLUENT is more versatile than the 1D analysis and can be applied to the heating problem related with complex structures and multi-dimensional heat transfer problems such as prediction of temperature rise at contact surface of different materials.
