Performance Analysis of Shared Buffer Router Architecture for Low Power Applications

  • Network on chip (NoC) is an emerging technology in the field of multi core interconnection architecture. The routers plays an essential components of Network on chip and responsible for packet delivery by selecting shortest path between source and destination. State-of-the-art NoC designs used routing table to find the shortest path and supports four ports for packet transfer, which consume high power consumption and degrades the system performance. In this paper, the multi port multi core router architecture is proposed to reduce the power consumption and increasing the throughput of the system. The shared buffer is employed between the multi ports of the router architecture. The performance of the proposed router is analyzed in terms of power and current consumption with conventional methods. The proposed system uses Modelsim software for simulation purposes and Xilinx Project Navigator for synthesis purposes. The proposed architecture consumes 31 mW on CPLD XC2C64A processor.

EVALUATION OF ROAD-INDUCED NOISE OF A VEHICLE USING EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH

  • In this paper a systematic test procedure for evaluation of road-induced noise of a vehicle and guidelines for each test are presented. Also, a practical application of the test procedure to a small SUV is presented. According to the test procedure, all the tests were performed to evaluate road-induced booming noise that is in low frequency range. First of all the information on characteristics of road-induced noise was obtained through baseline test. Coupling effects between body structure and acoustic cavity of a compartment were obtained by means of modal tests for a structure and an acoustic cavity. Local stiffness of joint areas between chassis system and car-body was determined by test for measurement of input point inertance. Noise sensitivities of body joints to operational forces were obtained through test for measurement of noise transfer functions. Operational deflection shapes made us analyze behaviors of chassis system under running condition and then find sources of noise due to resonance of the chassis system. Finally, Principal Component Analysis and Transfer Path Analysis were utilized to investigate main paths of road-induced noise. In order to evaluate road-induced booming noise exactly, all of tests mentioned above should be performed systematically.

CAE를 이용한 파워트레인의 가진력 해석 (Excitation Force Analysis of a Powertrain Based on CAE Technology)

  • The excitation force of a powertrain is one of major sources for the interior noise of a vehicle. This paper presents a novel approach to predict the interior noise caused by the vibration of the power rain by using the hybrid TPA (transfer path analysis) method. Although the traditional transfer path analysis (TPA) is useful for the identification of powertrain noise sources, it is difficult to modify the structure of a powertrain by using the experimental method for the reduction of vibration and noise. In order to solve this problem, the vibration of the power rain in a vehicle is numerically analyzed by using the finite element method (FEM). The vibration of the other parts in a vehicle is investigated by using the experimental method based on vibrato-acoustic transfer function (VATF) analysis. These two methods are combined for the prediction of interior noise caused by a power rain. Throughout this research, two papers are presented. This paper presents a simulation of the excitation force of the power rain exciting the vehicle body based on numerical simulation. The other paper presents a prediction of interior noise based on the hybrid TPA, which uses the VATF of the car body and the excitation force predicted in this paper.

  • This paper proposed a new technology to control a path forging parts in limited narrow space of manufacturing process automation for smart factory. In the motion control, we adapted the obstacle avoidance technology based on ultrasonic sensors. The new motion control performance test for a mobile robot is experimented in narrow space environments. The travelling path control is performed by a fuzzy control logic. which plays a role for selecting an appropriate behavior in accordance with the situation in the vicinity of the mobile robot. Ultrasonic sensors installed at the front face of the mobile robot are used. In order to update the current position and heading angle of the mobile robot, a new approch is adapted. The reliability is illustrated by simulation and experiments.

이종 PCM의 선택적 상변화 시의 열전달 해석 (Numerical Study of Heat Transfer with Selective Phase Change in Two Different Phase Change Materials)

  • A numerical analysis of solid-liquid phase change was performed on a heat transfer module which consisted of circulating water path (BRINE), heat transfer plate (HTP) and phase change material (PCM) layers, such as high temperature PCM (HPCM, $78{\sim}79^{\circ}C$) and low temperature PCM (LPCM, $28{\sim}29^{\circ}C$). There were five arrangements, consisting of BRINE, HTP, LPCM and HPCM layers in the heat transfer module. The time and heat transfer rate for melting/solidification was compared to their arrangements, against each other. As results, the numerical time without convection was longer than the experimental one for melting/solidification. Moreover, the melting/solidification with the BRINE I-LPCM-BRINE II-HPCM arrangement was faster(10 hours) than the others; HPCM-BRINE-LPCM, BRINE I-HPCM-LPCM-BRINE II one.

  • 첨단 응용 프로그램이 (예: 고에너지 물리학 대용량 파일전송, 비압축 HDTV 스트리밍) 안정적인 고 대역폭을 요구함에 따라 사용자에게 동적으로 대역폭을 전용으로 할당해줄 수 있는 람다 네트워킹이 대두되었다. User Controlled LightPath(UCLP) 는 람다 네트워킹을 용이하게 하는 소프트웨어로써 네트워크 자원을 Web Service로 정의 및 관리하여 확장성이 뛰어나다. 본 논문에서는 UCLP를 어떻게 KREONet2 와 GLORIAD-KR 환경에 맞게 구축하였는지를 보인다. 더불어 기존의 UCLP 가 옵티컬 스위치의 SONET 기술을 기반으로 하여 링크 레벨의 Articulated Private Network(APN) 만을 생성하는 한계점을 분석하고 Layer2 VLAN 기술을 도입하여 효율적인 네트워크 레벨의 APN을 생성할 수 있게 제안한다.

The Effect of IT Human Capability and Absorptive Capacity on Knowledge Transfer

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between IT human capability and knowledge transfer and the role of absorptive capacity between them. From the test of both measurement and structural model using Partial Least Squares (PLS), IT human capability is found to be significant to absorptive capacity and knowledge transfer. Absorptive capacity is also significantly related to knowledge transfer. The interesting result found in this study is that the path of absorptive capacity drawn from IT human capability to knowledge transfer is stronger than the direct relationship between IT human capability and knowledge transfer, indicating that absorptive capacity plays an important role in knowledge transfer. This result indicates that IT personnel with stronger technical skill, interpersonal skill and management capability are more likely to acquire and learn knowledge effectively from outside expertise. Moreover, this study shows that absorptive capacity, the individual’s ability to utilize external knowledge is derived from IT human capability and strongly effects on transferring knowledge from outsourcing vendors. This study suggests IT related managers that the development of IT human capability and absorptive capacity should be recognized for a successful exploitation of outside knowledge within a firm. It is also a necessary condition for a successful IT implementation and maintenance independently and economically from outside vendors.

접합 판형 열교환기(BPHE)의 내부 코팅에 따른 소재 특성 및 성능 평가에 관한 연구 (Study on the material properties and heating efficiency according to the internal surface coating of the brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE))

  • 본 연구에서는 STS-316 플레이트와 구리(Cu) 브레이징으로 구성된 접합 판형 열교환기(BPHE, Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger)의 내식성과 열효율 성능 향상을 위해 실란계 코팅을 적용하고자 하였다. 코팅 재료에 따른 부식 및 접촉각을 평가하여 선정된 코팅재료를 열교환기에 적용하였으나, 전열 성능 평가 결과 코팅하지 않은 열교환기에 비해 열효율이 떨어지는 결과가 나타났다. 이는 접합 판형 열교환기 내부의 유로에 코팅제의 고착화 및 표면의 잔여 코팅제가 열저항으로 작용하여 열전달을 방해는 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 내부에 미세한 유로가 존재하는 판형 열교환기의 구조적인 특성에 기인한 것으로, 판형 열교환기 제작 공정에서 사전에 유로 표면에 코팅 후 제작하는 것이 전열성능을 향상 시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

이중 증기통로를 가지는 히트파이프의 열전달특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of the Heat Pipe with a Double Vapor Path)

  • The Characteristics of heat transport in the heat pipe with a double vapor path and different kinds of the working fluid were investigated experimentally. The Experiment was carried out with acetone/ethanol. ethanol/ethanol. and in the aluminium container of the double vapor path. Performance measurements can be operated at the high level by 24000 w/m2 heat flux in the 1000mm evaporator. They are each estimated at the high temperature and experimentally reviewed the characteric of the heat rejection. The results shew that they are stably operated under each condition and the fluid was complemented each other at the fluid's experiment and brought about the extention of operating temperature. In this study, The reliable basic data obtained by the teste in the heat pipe with a double vapor path can be used for thermal design, manufacture, and production etc.

Automated machinability checking for sculptured surface manufacture

  • Determining tool-approach directions is an important issue when an effort is made to transfer CAD data into manufacturing automatically. An algorithm is developed to determine whether a given part can be machined on a three-axis milling machine. lf a set of feasible tool-approach directions exists for a sculptured surface, the NC tool path and G-codes for machining the surface on a three-axis milling machine can be generated automatically by an NC tool path generation algorithm. The algorithm can be used for orientation and fixturing of the workpiece for interference free machining. The algorithm can also be applied to checking the translational separability of polyhedral parts in automatic assembly.
