  • Recently, the area of ubiquitous computing has gained a great attention both in academics and in industry. However, previous research on this area attempts the categorization in part of context and the critical success factors (CSFs) and services of ubiquitous computing unsuccessfully. The purpose of this paper is to propose a framework on ubiquitous computing, including its context, roadmap, CSFs, and services.

  • The review of the present status of Korean industries and the establishment of strategic R&D agenda are necessary to improve the innovative technological capabilities of Korea to the top level of the world. Recently, Korean ministry of science and technology (MOST) has selected specific areas to develop national technological innovation system, and prepared national technology roadmap (NTRM). Korean ministry of environment (ME) also has prepared technology roadmap (TRM) to help efficient development of environmental science and technology. The development of eco-friendly process in NTRM and TRM was introduced and reviewed in this study. In addition, strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of technological capabilities of Korea was performed. The results propose the core role of industry, university, research institute, and government for the development of Korean environmental process technology.

  • Semiconductors are considered as one of the essential technologies in modern electronic devices and systems. Thus, it is required to predict and propose the semiconductor technology development roadmap. This study describes the key semiconductor technology issues, research and development trends, and their future roadmap, in the four areas such as the semiconductor device More-Moore integration technology, system-specific application processor technology, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) processor technology, and outside system connectivity via optical and wireless communication.

  • The tilde use of Information Technology (IT), especially the rapid diffusion of the internet, brings us a new paradigm, called "Electronic Commerce," or "Digital Economy." The paradigm is regarded as a business strategy essential to organizations′competitive advantages. Because few studies have been shown in the area of e-strategies, especially in the combined strategies of clicks and mortars, a study of this area is required. The main questions of this study are empirically to validate the usefulness and applicability of a decision roadmap and to analyze the situation of Korean firms in the view of the decision roadmap. Major results of this study are as follows : First, there is an evidence that the roadmap can be applied to Korean firms regardless of their industry and size. Second, the usefulness of the roadmap is proved because companies following the directions of the roadmap show high degree of satisfaction with online sales. Third, Korean companies in general do not achieve an Ideal Integration (or separation), especially In terms of management and operation. In conclusion, this study provides an e-business strategy Planner some guidelines about how to achieve right mix of on-line and off-line business.

  • Due to the recent development of system semiconductors, technical innovation for the electric devices of the automobile industry is rapidly progressing. In particular, the electric device of automobiles is accelerating technology development competition among automobile parts makers, and the development cycle is also changing rapidly. Due to these changes, the importance of strategic planning for R&D is further strengthened. Due to the paradigm shift in the automobile industry, the Product-Technical Roadmap (P/TRM), one of the R&D strategies, analyzes technology forecasting, technology level evaluation, and technology acquisition method (Make/Collaborate/Buy) at the planning stage. The product-technical roadmap is a tool that identifies customer needs of products and technologies, selects technologies and sets development directions. However, most companies are developing the product-technical roadmap through a qualitative method that mainly relies on the technical papers, patent analysis, and expert Delphi method. In this study, empirical research was conducted through simulations that can supplement and strengthen the product-technical roadmap centered on the automobile industry by fusing Gartner's hype cycle, cumulative moving average-based data preprocessing, and deep learning (LSTM) time series analysis techniques. The empirical study presented in this paper can be used not only in the automobile industry but also in other manufacturing fields in general. In addition, from the corporate point of view, it is considered that it will become a foundation for moving forward as a leading company by providing products to the market in a timely manner through a more accurate product-technical roadmap, breaking away from the roadmap preparation method that has relied on qualitative methods.

  • This paper introduces the technology roadmapping process. As a needs-driven technology planning tool, technology roadmapping can help identify and select technology alternatives to meet a set of market needs. Thus, it allows increasingly limited R&D investments to be used more efficiently. In this contribution we classify the technology roadmap on the basis of literature review and case survey, and provide the technology roadmapping process.

  • Along with the increase in demand for rescue services, the types of rescue services are also diversifying. Accordingly, rescue workers are exposed to various unpredictable dangerous situations, and the possibility of safety accidents is increasing, so the need for systematic management of safety accidents by rescue teams is emerging. It is necessary to present a roadmap for improving the quality of rescue services. An integrated technology roadmap tool that can be used immediately to improve structural quality was applied. The driving elements of the roadmap are composed of three elements that constitute the improvement of structural quality. It can be divided into safety management, professional competence and other (policy support) fields. This study intends to present a long-term and short-term roadmap by dividing it into safety management, professional competency, and other (policy support) fields.
