  • A risk informed approach to relax AOTs and STIs of RPS/ESPAS in technical specifications of kori units 3, 4 was performed in this paper. With the proposed AOTs and STIs, system unavailabilities and core damage frequency were quantified using PSA model. The results shoe that core damage frequency is slightly increased by extending AOTs and STIs but negligible. As considering the benefits such as reduction of plant transients and man power for test and maintenance, the relaxation of AOTs/STIs of RPS/ESFAS is justified

  • DC electricity feeder system operating in the urban railway is typically a feedback circuit consisted of the contact wire and electric railway vehicle via rail. But stray current is flowed on a structure that is not part of the intended electrical circuit with respect to a given structure. This paper presents comparison analysis of field test cases based on criteria of electrolytic corrosion protection of buried metallic structures adjacent to DC traction systems. As a result of it, we confirmed that measurement methods are different from each other about the same tests. Therefore measurement methods to prevent electrolytic corrosion need to establish electrical facilities standards to be applied domestic.

  • Limiting conditions for operations (LCOs) are evaluated dynamically using the tool of system dynamics. The LCOs de-fine the allowed outage times (AOTs) and the actions to be taken if the repair cannot be completed within the AOT. System dynamics has been developed to analyze the dynamic reliability of a complicated system. System dynamics using Vensim software have been applied to LCOs assessment for an example system, the auxiliary feed water system of a reference nuclear power plant. Analysis results of both full power operation and shutdown operation have been compared for a measure of core damage frequency. The framework developed in this study has been shown to be very flexible in that it can be applied to assess LCOs quantitatively under any operational context of the TS in FSAR.

  • A service level agreement (SLA) is a formal contract between a service provider and a subscriber that contains detailed technical specifications called service level specifications (SLSs). In this paper, we propose SLA data analysis system which provides an effective decision-making information to network service provider. The SLA data analysis system executes trend analysis and statistics analysis using SLA violation and refund information. The analysis results are presented in many ways such as tables, graphs.

  • The buildings of architectural and cultural heritage are mostly built with stone or brick wall elements, which are connected using limestone or limestone cement mortar, without a full knowledge of the mechanical properties of masonry structures. The compatibility of heritage masonry buildings with valid technical specifications and the rules for earthquake resistance implies the need for construction work such as repairs, strengthening or reconstruction. By strengthening the masonry buildings, ductility and bearing capacity are increased to a level, which, in the case of the earthquake design, allows for some damage to happen, however the structure retains sufficient usability and bearing capacity without the possibility of collapse. Comparison between traditional and modern techniques for seismic strengthening of masonry buildings is given according to their effects, benefits and disadvantages. Recent Croatian provisions provided for heritage buildings enabling deviation of technical specifications are discussed.

  • Recently, research and development on satellite payloads are being developed such as the optical sensor, SAR etc. Satellite image for earth observation is being utilized both domestically and abroad. Advanced satellite payload technology has led to the collection and analysis of satellite images relying on the optical sensor. Currently, related organizations such as RDA(the Rural Development Administration) are collectively collaborating to plan a national project to develop a medium-sized satellite based on Korea's domestic technology independently. This paper investigated the cases of the past research on application of satellite images for agriculture and analyzed the technical specifications for satellite payload in each area of such application. Based on the results of the past surveys and consultation studies among local experts in satellite image application, we analyzed the current trends, plans and applications of domestic and overseas R&D in satellite payloads for earth observation in agriculture, and proposed the appropriate technical specifications for developing a future medium-sized satellite for agriculture. The proposed specifications were then incorporated into a simulated satellite to examine its performance to observe the Korean farming areas. The authors anticipate that the findings of this paper will form a useful technical basis for providing the appropriate specifications for developing future medium-sized satellite payloads to be used in agriculture and forestry, and enabling the end users to efficiently utilize the satellite.

  • This study aimed to develop methods for technical design education that can be intimately connected to the industrial field. For this, technical design jobs performed in the fields of the domestic and foreign fashion industries and their required competences were examined, and educational methods based on constructivism were proposed. Korean fashion technical designers' works were identified, and then the fashion technical designer's responsibilities and qualifications were collected and analyzed from global employment sites. On the basis of the collection and analysis, hands-on staff members and education experts were interviewed about required competences for the actual business and possible suitable methods for education. The results of research showed that in the case of the US, job systems and relevant duties for technical designers were clearly defined by clothing brands, whereas in Korea, businesses were systematized around vendors, not brands, and as a result the businesses of technical package composition and specification proposals were not performed properly. This study organized the contents of technical design education into fit development and specification, the composition of technical design packages, the evaluation and approval of samples, fit schedule management and fitting, block pattern setting and pattern correction, sewing specifications appropriate for styles and materials, grading, technical terms, and production management. As for the technical design education models, the cognitive apprenticeship model, resource-based learning, the problem-based and anchored model, and the problem-based and resource-based models were proposed.

  • Multiport power converters have recently become popular to researchers and engineers. However, more improvements are required in terms of their soft-switching operation, bidirectional operation, and integration. In this study, a bidirectional three-port three-switch DC-DC converter is proposed. The converter contains a low-current ripple port and ripple-free current port. Through the integrated structure, utilization of a coupled inductor, and a new switching strategy, the aforementioned specifications are achieved. A modified switching strategy is also utilized in the converter, which has resulted in the bidirectional operation of the converter between ports. Finally, a comprehensive analysis is presented, and the converter characteristics are validated by experimental results.
