SWRO-PRO 복합해수담수화 신공정기술의 연구 (The study of a novel SWRO-PRO hybrid desalination technology)

  • SWRO-PRO hybrid desalination technology is recently getting more attention especially in large desalination markets such as USA, Middle East, Japan, Singapore, etc. because of its promising potential to recover a considerable amount of osmotic energy from brine (a high-concentration solution of salt, 60,000 - 80,000 mg/L) and also to minimize the impact of the discharged brine into a marine ecosystem. By the research and development of the core technologies of the SWRO-PRO desalination system in a national desalination research project (Global MVP) supported by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) and Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA), it is anticipated that around 25% of total energy consumption rate (generally 3 to $4kWh/m^3$) of the SWRO desalination can be reduced by recovering the brine's osmotic energy utilizing wastewater treatment effluent as a PRO feed solution and an isobaric pressure exchanger (PX, ERI) as a PRO energy converter. However, there are still several challenges needed to be overcome in order to ultimately commercialize the novel SWRO-PRO process. They include system optimization and integration, development of efficient PRO membrane and module, development of PRO membrane fouling control technology, development of design and operation technology for the system scaling-up, development of diverse business models, and so on. In this paper, the current status and progress of the pilot study of the newly developed SWRO-PRO hybrid desalination technology is discussed.

지식상호보완성이 정보시스템 감리 성과에 미치는 영향 : 상주감리 관점에서 (An Analysis of the Effects of Knowledge Complementarities on the Performance of Information System Audit : A Perspective of the Resident Audit in the Project Office)

  • Recently, as Information System projects tend to be more complex, the importance of Information System Audit increases. In the same context, the need for the resident IS Audit also increases, which is supposed to deal with the possible risks and urgent issues by providing the appropriate support and timely coordination during IS project. Basically, for the effective IS Audit, the IS audit team members should be able to understand such a business context as work characteristics, business knowledge, goals, and culture of the organization. The audit team members should also be able to share the various knowledge of Information Technology and audit procedure with the owner of the project. Especially, for the resident audit, it is more important to fill the gaps in expertise between project owner and audit team. However, any studies on the need of common knowledge base (knowledge complementarities) in the IS audit have not been done so far. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the knowledge complementarity based on inter-organizational communication between the project owner and audit team members makes an effect on the fidelity and performance of IS audit. In order to do this, the relationship among inter-organizational communication and knowledge complementarity, the fidelity of IS audit service, and performance of IS audit has been analyzed, using Structural Equation Model. The result shows that all the relationship is significant, which means that knowledge complementarity between the two different interest groups should be an effective factor on the fidelity and performance of IS audit. This result implies that, for better quality of IS Audit service, how to acquire the knowledge complementarity between the project owner and Audit team should be considered seriously as well as systematically in the process of IS Audit.

고온 (750 ~ 850℃) SOFC용 밀봉재의 특성에 미치는 고열팽창계수를 갖는 필러의 영향 (The Effects of a Filler with a High Coefficient of Thermal Expansion on a Sealant for High-Temperature (750 ~ 850℃) SOFCs)

  • In this study, we report that effects of a filler with a high coefficient of thermal expansion on a sealant for high-temperature ($750{\sim}850^{\circ}C$) SOFC. We designed a $SiO_2-BaO-ZnO-B_2O_3-Al_2O_3$ glass system with a softening temperature higher than $750^{\circ}C$. The properties of the glass system show not only low volumetric shrinking but also low swelling. The glass system did not create a crystal phase during along-term heat treatment. We fabricated a seal gasket with 0, 10, 15, and 20 wt% cristobalite added as filler materials with glass powder. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the seal gasket increased according to cristobalite content. During along-term heat treatment, the leak rate decreased by about 5% after a heat treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere at $750^{\circ}C$ for 2000 h, also decreasing by about 6% after a heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere at $750^{\circ}C$ for 1000 h.

  • In this study, a compact hydrogen liquefaction system was constructed with the aim of creating a data storage and monitoring program for liquid hydrogen production. This program was designed to receive and record signals from diverse control equipment through the LabVIEW software. A range of measurement instruments were devised to collect data, encompassing variables such as flow rate, pressure, temperature, and liquid level. As a result, it was possible to directly check the production of liquid hydrogen by obtaining various data of condensed liquid hydrogen. In addition, it was confirmed that long-term storage of liquid hydrogen is possible by developing automatic ON/OFF through the LabVIEW program.

Managing and Modeling Strategy of Geo-features in Web-based 3D GIS

  • Geo-features play a key role in object-oriented or feature-based geo-processing system. So the strategy for how-to-model and how-to-manage the geo-features builds the main architecture of the entire system and also supports the efficiency and functionality of the system. Unlike the conventional 2D geo-processing system, geo-features in 3B GIS have lots to be considered to model regarding the efficient manipulation and analysis and visualization. When the system is running on the Web, it should also be considered that how to leverage the level of detail and the level of automation of modeling in addition to the support for client side data interoperability. We built a set of 3D geo-features, and each geo-feature contains a set of aspatial data and 3D geo-primitives. The 3D geo-primitives contain the fundamental modeling data such as the height of building and the burial depth of gas pipeline. We separated the additional modeling data on the geometry and appearance of the model from the fundamental modeling data to make the table in database more concise and to allow the users more freedom to represent the geo-object. To get the users to build and exchange their own data, we devised a file format called VGFF 2.0 which stands for Virtual GIS File Format. It is to describe the three dimensional geo-information in XML(eXtensible Markup Language). The DTD(Document Type Definition) of VGFF 2.0 is parsed using the DOM(Document Object Model). We also developed the authoring tools for. users can make their own 3D geo-features and model and save the data to VGFF 2.0 format. We are now expecting the VGFF 2.0 evolve to the 3D version of SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) especially for 3D GIS on the Web.

GPS 전파위협원 위치추적 시스템 구축 및 초기 운용 (Installation and Operation of a GPS Jammer Localization System)

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS 전파위협원 위치추적 시스템을 설치하고 초기 운영을 실시한 결과를 분석하였다. GPS 전파위협원 위치추적 시스템은 2011년부터 한국항공우주연구원에서 개발하였으며, 4기의 전파위협 수신국, 1기의 위치추적 중앙국과 모니터링 장치로 구성된다. 2014년 12월에 시스템을 인천국제공항에 설치하였으며, 각 전파위협 수신국은 약 4 km 떨어진 건물의 옥상에 설치하였고 위치추적 중앙국과 모니터링 장치는 실내에 설치하였다. 모니터링 결과는 웹 브라우저를 통해 실시간으로 확인할 수 있으며, 한국항공우주연구원과 인천국제공항공사가 공동으로 상시 모니터링을 수행하고 있다. 초기 운영 결과, 현재까지 GPS 전파위협 신호는 유입되지 않았으나 각 수신국 주변에서 이상 신호가 유입된 사례가 있어 이러한 신호의 특성을 분석하였다.

  • 현재 세계적으로 배출가스 규제 강화와 유가 상승으로 인해 가솔린엔진에서 배출되는 유해 배출 가스 저감기술 및 연비향상 기술 개발이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 가솔린 직접분사(GDI; Gasoline direct injection) 기술은 가솔린 연료를 직접 연소실에 분사하여 정밀한 연소제어를 통해 매우 희박한 혼합기에서도 고효율의 연소가 가능하게 함으로써 연비저감과 고출력을 동시에 만족할 수 있는 효과적인 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 분무유도방식(spray-guided type)을 이용한 GDI 엔진을 개발하여 안정적인 희박연소를 구현하였다. 자주 사용되는 운전영역에서 연료분사시기의 TDC(Top dead center) 인근으로의 지각을 통하여 안정적인 희박연소를 구현하였으며, 다단분사를 적용하여 추가적인 연료소비율의 개선이 가능한 반면 탄화수소(THC)와 질소산화물($NO_x$)의 배출은 증가하고 CO의 배출은 감소되었다.

  • 자동차용 도장시스템으로 새롭게 대두되고 있는 roll coating process는 비친환경적이면서도 생산성이 떨어지는 기존의 습식도장공정을 완전 대체할 수 있는 기술로 알려져 있다. Pre-painted 강판 시스템에서 도막 유연성 및 강도 등의 구현을 위하여 경화거동뿐만 아니라 내식성 및 성형가공성, 유변학적 거동 등의 평가가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 pre-painted system에 적용하기 위하여 polyester 수지를 수산화기 및 분자량 변성을 통하여 합성한 후, 경화거동 및 딥드로잉, 인장력, 유변특성 등을 평가하였다. 40 (mg KOH-/mol)정도의 수산화기를 갖는 N-0375-40 system이 유연성 및 도막강도, 경화거동 등의 가장 우수한 물성을 나타내었다.

에어 블로어와 흡입기능을 가진 미세먼지 흡입시스템의 최적화 (Dust collection system optimization with air blowing and dust suction module)

  • 도시철도 터널내에 축적된 미세먼지(PM10 and PM2.5)의 제거를 위해 사용되는 분진흡입차량의 성능은 하부흡입시스템의 설계방법에 따라 성능이 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 터널집진차량의 하부에 설치된 먼지흡입시스템의 고효율화를 위하여 궤도의 바닥면에 쌓인 먼지를 비산시키는 압축공기 블로어와 먼지 흡입구를 동시에 가지는 모듈화된 먼지흡입구조를 제안하였다. 흡입과 블로어의 상반된 구조를 동시에 가진 흡입시스템의 먼지유동 최적화를 위해 난류유동에 기초한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과로 먼지흡입효율을 최대화 할 수 있는 공기 블로어의 설치각이 $6^{\circ}$ 내외에서 결정되고, 이를 적용하면 5 km/h의 청소속도를 가지는 분진흡입차량의 흡입효율을 10%이상 높일 수 있음을 확인하였다.
