On the standards or elements of teaching evaluation, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) has carried out several research as follows : 1) establishment of observation elements for selecting examples of good mathematics instruction between 2001 and 2002, 2) development of the standards on teaching evaluation between 2004 and 2006, and 3) investigation on the elements of Pedagogical Content Knowledge including understanding of learners between 2007 and 2008. The purposes of development of mathematics teaching evaluation standards through those studies were to improve not only mathematics teachers' professionalism but also their own teaching methods or strategies. In this study, the standards were revised and modified by analyzing the results of those three studies (namely, evaluation standards) focused on the teacher knowledge of learners' understanding. For this purpose, the meaning of learners' understanding was also investigated in-depth. Finally, the concrete elements on teaching evaluation focused on the teacher knowledge of learners' understanding in math class were new developed, based on the literature reviews on learners' understanding. Then, those evaluation elements were developed according to the five domains of learners' understanding such as evaluation domains such as students' intellectual and achievement level, students' misconception in math, students' motivation on learning, students' attitude on mathematics learning, and students' learning strategies.

In this study, the contents of the revised curriculum in 2007 for the area of 'Information Society and Information Technology' in 'Informatics subject matter for middle school have been analyzed. In addition, evaluation standards have been suggested based on the achievement standards, which have been detailed according to the analyzed results in the study. Since the suggested achievement and evaluation standards have been developed based on the revision of the curriculum, the results in this study are expected to be helpful especially in 2010 for teaching and learning activities such as setting up the educational objects for teaching and learning, developing evaluation methods, improving the teaching and learning methods, setting the level and range of teaching and learning area, and etc.
In this paper, we report the types of teaching moves a mathematics teacher educator attempted in his teaching of third-grade students at an urban elementary school in South Korea over two months. We analyze the lesson videos to find the patterns of teaching moves and speculate the link between the teaching and students' mathematical proficiencies recommended in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Practices. Closely related teaching moves to the students' development of a certain mathematical proficiency would imply the exemplary practices that teachers-both inservice and preservice teachers-can implement in their classrooms.

This study investigated the current science teaching evaluation system implemented in schools and directions for improving teaching evaluation using literature review, survey, and teacher interview. The first part of this paper analyzed the types, roles, and major issues of the current science teaching evaluation. In-service teachers argued that the current teaching evaluation system was discredited because of the bureaucratic procedures of teacher performance review, showcase classrooms, teachers' views on classroom as their own personal space, low ratio of teaching component in the current teacher evaluation, untrained evaluators, and the absence of professional teaching standards. The second part of the paper investigated the need for a formative teaching assessment, an ideal type of teaching assessment, and the role of participants in the teaching evaluation processes. The way forward, therefore, is to start not at the level of the administrative superstructure but at the level of teachers who will assume responsibility for developing standards of practice as the basis for evaluating their own work and improving their own professional learning to provide quality assurance.
Europass was established in 2005 by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe as a single framework for language qualifications and competences, helping citizens to gain accreditation throughout the European Community. In addition, the 1996 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) provides a common basis for language syllabi, curriculum guidelines, examination, and textbooks in Europe. This framework describes the required knowledge and skills, the cultural context, and the levels of proficiency that learners should achieve. In combination, Europass and the CEFR provide employers and educational institutes with internationally recognized standards. This paper proposes that current trends such as globalization and international mobility require a similar approach to accreditation in Asia. As jobs and workers become independent of national boundaries and restrictions, it becomes necessary to educate students as multilingual world citizens, using standards that are accepted around the world. It is suggested, therefore, that assessment models such as Europass and the CEFR, along with successful language teaching models in Europe and Canada, present opportunities of adaptation for the Korean education system. Finally, rigorous teacher training to internationally recognized levels is recommended, if Korea is to produce a workforce of highly-skilled, plurilingual world citizens.

With the aim of examining the effects of implementing international financial reporting standards (IFRS) on teaching accounting and auditing at universities and colleges in Vietnam, a case study was conducted at 30 universities, colleges, and 208 lecturers in Vietnam. Next, the study employed the structural model analysis method by PLS_SEM software to process and analyze the collected data. The research results show that: (1) There are eight factors that affect how IFRS is applied to teaching, including the training program, (ii) teaching staff, (iii) IFRS application regulations, (iv) related party requirements, (v) faculty/school administrators, (vi) teaching aids, (vii) IFRS teaching methods, and (iii) students; (2) there are three factors that affect the quality of teaching staff, including applying IFRS to teaching at the university and colleges, (ii) Regulations on the application of IFRS, (iii) Requirements from related parties. At the same time, the study also shows that, regarding the indirect relationships, applying IFRS to teaching does not play an intermediary role in these relationships. However, at the 10% significance level, it was found that there is an indirect relationship between regulations on the application of IFRS by the Ministry of Finance and the quality of teaching staff through the variable applying IFRS to teaching.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of teachers' interaction with their students when teaching science in New York (NY) and in Korea. As part of the 2011 Korean International Teacher Fellows (KITF), supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) and the National Institute for International Education Development (NIIED), Korean science teachers observed, for six months, New York's science classes in terms of how teachers interact with their students and how students learn science during science instruction. The participants were 10 science teachers in five middle and high schools that taught Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, and Environment Science in NY. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS, 2003) and Instruction as Interaction (Cohen et al., 2003) were used as an instrument to identify each teacher's teaching and classroom interaction. Several characteristics of science classes in NY were revealed, which are different from Korean science classes. First, science teachers in NY dominantly put more focus on their subject of teaching during science interaction while, Korean science teachers not only teach science but also do counseling to students as a homeroom teacher. Second, science teachers in NY acknowledged the students' individuality and have positive experiences of professional development supported by their school and district more than Korean science teachers do. Third, science teachers in NY sometimes showed limited knowledge about the concepts of science and lack of collaboration with other science teachers. This characteristics may prevent the school from strengthening its subject program and keeping equity across the grade levels and courses.

The researcher selected experimenter and started this study as a graduate student who is majoring in science education, experimenter chose to study 48 Sixth graders in elementary schools in B city for research group(24 students), Comparison group(24 students). The study was conducted from March to the end of July 2014. The teacher who is doing activity of professor in research group and the comparison group is science education specialist. Researcher and experimenter frequently exchange their opinions for control variables of teacher. The results are as follows. First, based on unit time strategies based on core achievement standards classes are effective in improving students' academic achievement. Elementary school teacher has difficulty in teaching for all subjects based on unit time strategies. Second, based on unit time strategies based on core achievement standards classes showed high level of satisfaction in perception of students. Thus it can be seen that teaching strategies of unit time based on the core achievement standards is effective to academic achievement improvement. The proposal for further study based on the results is as follows. First, research is needed to study the teaching methods that have practical and theoretical study time and lesson application opportunity for teaching strategies of curriculum unit time. Second, experimental studies that using strategies of unit time based on the core achievement standards are needed about learning method that can be applied in a variety of subjects.
