  • This study attempts to understand the context of shared learning in the trading zone formed by teachers from different backgrounds and the process in which this shared learning varies in the educational context, focusing on the case of 'Woodwork Science Education Study Group.' To do this, data was collected through in-depth interviews with eight teachers who participated in the 'Woodworking Science Education Research Group' and analyzed their responses based on grounded theory. As a result, the causal conditions of the teachers' research group were 'various contexts of entering the trading zone' and the central phenomenon was 'encounter with learning in the trading zone.' Contextual conditions affecting this phenomenon were 'woodwork as a boundary object and individual transfiguration experience,' and action/interaction strategy was 'various efforts and influences in the field.' The intervention condition was 'practical effort and experience in educational field.' Final result in this model is 'the new practice of learning shared in the trading zone.' In selective coating, it was found that the practice of the teacher's research group appears as four types of' 'Extracurricular creative experience type,' 'career education type,' 'curricula education type,' and 'school management type.' The results of this study suggest that the shared learning and antonymous practice among teachers in the teachers' research group as trading zone do not only meet their learning needs but also lead to various teaching practices in the individual teachers' context of education and improve the diversity and quality of education.

The results of this research can be used as a new indicator based on the essential relationship of Korea to explain and improve the teacher culture and organizational culture of school. The subjects were 206 elementary school teachers. The data were analyzed using correlation, ANOVA, and exploratory factor analyses with SPSS 23, and confirmatory factor analysis with Mplus 7.1. The results of this study are as follows. First, 'psychological wellbeing', 'caring relationship', 'ethical legitimacy', and 'sharing time' were derived as the factors of early childhood teachers' perception of we-ness. In addition, considering that we-ness can be spread not only to individual relations, but also to the class, and to the same organization as a school, it can be used to form a school culture based on Korean culture and suggest a teaching culture. On the other hand, this study examined elementary school teachers; hence, the results cannot be applied to all teachers. In addition, this study was a quantitative study exploring the sub-factors through statistical analysis. The results of the quantitative research should be elaborated through interviews with school members, and follow - up studies should be conducted through case studies.

  • Objectives: This study examines the foodservice status of kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Seoul. We further determine the perception of elementary school principals and kindergarten assistant principals on the foodservice management for kindergartens. Methods: This survey was conducted from July 17 to 23, 2019, enrolling 207 kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Seoul. Questionnaires were sent to principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens, and the data obtained from 89 kindergartens were included in the analysis. The questionnaire consisted of four parts: general information on subjects, foodservice management status, foodservice management status during elementary school vacations, and the perception of principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens on foodservice management. Data are presented as frequency and percentage or mean and standard deviation. Statistical comparison between principals of elementary schools and assistant principals of kindergartens was conducted by paired t-test, chi-square test, and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: A separate menu (10.1%) or recipe (20.2%) that considers preschooler characteristics was rarely used for foodservice at kindergartens attached to elementary schools. Most kindergartens did not have a separate dining space (3.4%) or a dedicated cook (93.3%). Although most kindergartens (92.1%) had operational foodservice during elementary school vacations, non-professional staff and non-nutrition teacher were mainly in charge of organizing the menu and purchasing ingredients (34.1% and 41.5%, respectively). The rate of using a contract catering company (28.0%, 23.2%) was also high. Both elementary school principals and assistant principals of kindergartens showed a high perception of the necessity for providing responsibility allowances for nutrition teachers and improving the cooking environment for kindergartens during elementary school vacations. Conclusions: There is a need for policies and administrative support measures to improve the quality of foodservices for kindergartens attached to elementary schools.

To do this, a tutoring survey with satisfaction survey was carried out for 90 students who participated in the final reporting meeting among those who joined the tutoring program at the second semester of 2016 year at the B university. In addition, a tutor interim checking workshop was held for the 49 tutors and qualitative analyses were carried out on the reflection papers submitted by students who were involved in the tutoring program. Tutoring program assessments were carried out in terms of several steps and their view points. They were the necessity of tutoring program for the context evaluation, the appropriacy of human-material resources and program planning for the input evaluation, the teaching and learning activity for the process evaluation and the influence, effectiveness, sustainability, transferability for the product evaluation. Survey results showed that the average scores were presented 4.05 for the context evaluation, 3.88 for the input evaluation, 4.08 for the process evaluation and 3.92 for the product evaluation respectively. Similar analysis results were represented from the tutor workshops and the reflection paper analysis results. Learners were satisfied with all the evaluation items, scoring more than the average level. However, it was necessary for the evaluation items that were rated low range to improve the program through detail modification plans.

  • Objectives: The objectives of this study were to assess the implementation status of Health Promoting Schools (HPS) among elementary, middle and high schools and to identify characteristics of the schools that affect the implementation of HPS. Methods: A total of 703 teachers (male 32.2%, females 67.8%) from 70 elementary, middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi participated in the survey. A 60-item self-evaluation questionnaire was used to assess implementation status of HPS. Results: Implementation of HPS in elementary schools were more favorable than middle and high schools after controling for participants' characteristics, such as age, gender, and their duties at school (<0.001). Being a private school was associated with higher score on implementation of HPS in both elementary (${\beta}$=0.170) and middle/high schools (${\beta}$=0.275). However, being located in rural areas (${\beta}$=-0.409) and having larger number of students (${\beta}$=-0.521) were associated with lower score on implementation of HPS in middle/high schools. Conclusions: Middle and high schools, especially large public and/or rural schools, were less favorable in implementing HPS. Therefore, supporting those schools are necessary and developing evaluation and monitoring system for HPS implementation will contribute to promote students' health.

  • This study focuses on how to introduce the concept of Information Commons(IC) into school libraries in order to help them Perform their roles required to satisfy new types of their users' demands. It intends to examine the concept of IC to draw the IC elements applicable to school libraries and propose a feasible model for them. The main objects of this study are school libraries and Information Commons. In particular, this study brings the derivation of IC elements and the construction of an IC model for school libraries into focus. This study sorted the three factors by peculiarities of school libraries. Each classification is as follows: physical elements were divided into learning space, creation space, community space, and service counters; human resources were divided into teacher-librarian. IT engineers, and student assistants; and services were divided into information literacy training and integrated, collaborative services. Based upon the derived IC constituents, it proposed a diagram that outlines the IC services concept for school libraries, an IC model and an IC floor plan for them.
