  • The small tracking radar targets the target in a real-time, fast-moving, fast-moving target against aircraft with a large RCS that is maneuvering at low speed and a small RCS aircraft maneuvering at high speed (fighters, drones, helicopters, etc.) It is a pulsed radar that detects and tracks. Performing a performance test on a tracking radar in a real environment is expensive, and it is difficult to quantitatively measure performance in a real environment. Describes the composition of the laboratory environment's comprehensive performance test facility and the main requirements and implementation of each configuration.Anechoic chambers to simulate the room environment, simulation target generator to simulate the signal of the room target, target It is composed of a horn antenna driving device to simulate the movement of a vehicle and a Flight Motion Simulatior (FMS) to simulate the flight environment of a tracking radar, and each design and implementation has been described.

  • Out of all the nondestructive test (NDT) methods, the pullout test is one of the most reliable techniques for estimating the strength of concrete under construction. However the pullout test inevitably produces significant surface damage because of the inherent test mechanism and costs too much for using measurement devices. In the view of construction engineers and inspectors, the main purpose of NDT methods for concrete is to verify whether the concrete strength of structure members exceeds the target strength or not. In this paper, a new pullout test method, which involves a pre-installed breaking bolt, with pre-determined breaking torques corresponding to the target strength of concrete, is introduced with related test data. The three types of test, the rebound hammer test, the pullout test, and the new pullout test with breaking bolt, were carried out on wall specimen with three types of concrete strengths. Our results show that concrete strength as evaluated by the pullout test with breaking bolt was similar with cylinder test results. Therefore it can be said that the new pullout test with breaking bolt is a useful method for checking the concrete strength without any surface damages in construction site.

  • This study is aimed to estimate market integration of wild caught fish species on the Korean market, using both multivariate and bivariate cointegration analysis. For the analysis of market integration between wild caught fish species, major four fish species those are most popular fish in the market and caught by the large purse seine fishery-chub mackerel, jack mackerel, hairtail and spanish mackerel-were selected as analytical target fish species. And their real monthly price data from January 2000 to December 2011 were used in the analysis. The results of the multivariate cointegration test for four wild caught fish species showed that there would be long-term equilibrium relationships among prices of four wild caught fish species, and consequently, the markets for wild caught fish species were estimated to be integrated. The results of exclusion test and bivariate cointegration test also supported that there would be a clear evidence to suggest that all target wild caught fish species were cointegrated each other.

  • In order to effectively process target recognition using radar, accurate signal information for the target is required. However, such a target signal is usually mixed with noise, and this part of the study is continuously carried out. Especially, image processing, target signal processing and target recognition for the target are examples. Since the field of target recognition is important from a military point of view, this paper carried out research on target recognition of aircraft using a tree-structured fuzzy neural networks. Fuzzy neural networks are learned by using reflected signal data for an aircraft to optimize the model, and then test data for the target are used for the optimized model to perform an experiment on target recognition. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation results.

  • In this paper we discuss an algorithm to discriminate a target under track against multiple acoustic counter-measure (ACM) sources, based on sequential testings of multiple hypotheses. The ACM sources are separated from the target under track and generate, while drifting, measurements with false range and Doppler information. The purpose of the ACM is to mislead the target tracking and to help the true target evade a pursuer. The proposed algorithm uses as a test statistic a function of both the sequences of processed waveform signature and the innovation sequences from extended Kalman filters to estimate the target dynamics and the drifting positions of the ACM sources. Numerical experiments on various scenarios show that the proposed algorithm discriminates the target faster with a higher probability of success than the algorithm using only the innovation sequences from extended Kalman filters.

  • This study proposes a method for determining the optimal target size for an artillery range considering ballistics and environmental conditions. To this end, the size of the probable error of each type of ammunition and charge determined during shooting were considered, and the effect of the firing position and target terrain characteristics on the target size was analyzed. In conclusion, the size of the target increased as the range increased, and a larger target size was required for the DPICM than for the general high explosive. Accordingly, the optimal target size must be determined by considering various factors such as topographical characteristics, shooting position location, and shooting range safety standards.

  • In this paper, The flight data processing system was designed for multiple target flight test. For flight data processing, multiple target grouping, data fusion processing, and data slaving processing were performed and, as a data fusion filter, centralized, and federated Kalman filters were designed. A centralized kalman filter was modified in order to improve the vehicle's low altitude measurement using radar's SNR and estimation process. From the testing of multiple target missile, it confirmed flight trajectory measurement was improved in low altitude area and the beginning stage of vehicle.

  • This study attempted to manufacture a Cu-Ga coating layer via the cold spray process and to investigate the applicability of the layer as a sputtering target material. In addition, changes made to the microstructure and properties of the layer due to annealing heat treatment were evaluated, compared, and analyzed. The results showed that coating layers with a thickness of 520 mm could be manufactured via the cold spray process under optimal conditions. With the Cu-Ga coating layer, the ${\alpha}$-Cu and $Cu_3Ga$ were found to exist inside the layer regardless of annealing heat treatment. The microstructure that was minute and inhomogeneous prior to thermal treatment changed to homogeneous and dense with a more clear division of phases. A sputtering test was actually conducted using the sputtering target Cu-Ga coating layer (~2 mm thickness) that was additionally manufactured via the cold-spray coating process. Consequently, this test result confirmed that the cold sprayed Cu-Ga coating layer may be applied as a sputtering target material.

  • As a sub-system of an air traffic control system, SDP(Surveillance Data Processor) provides with the system tracks of aircraft using the surveillance sensor data from various air traffic surveillance sensors, such as radars. Therefore, the high accuracy of tracking results is a crucial requirement for safe flights, and verification of the required system performance of SDP is an essential step in development. Moreover, the quantitative evaluation of target tracking accuracy is important for newly developed SDP, since there are several tracking methods for Multi-Sensor Multi-Target Tracking, such as MRT(Multi Radar Tracking), inevitably required as the main function of SDP. In this study, definition of required system performances, establishment of test environment, and test results for MRT performance evaluation of SDP, which is being developed in KARI(Korea Airspace Research Institute) are presented.

  • In this paper, we have developed a target recognition algorithm based on a template matching technique using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. For efficient computations, Radon transform-based azimuth estimation algorithm was used with the template matching. MSTAR data set was divided into two groups according to the depression angles, which were a train set and a test set. Template data were generated by rotating and cropping chips which were from MSTAR train set using the azimuth estimation algorithm. Then the template matching process between test data and template data was performed under various conditions. Performance variation according to contrast enhancement preprocessing which is scarce in open literature was also presented. The analysis results show that the target recognition algorithm could be useful for the automatic target recognition using SAR images.
