Real-time Compensation of Motion Errors Using Extended Twyman-Green Interferometry (확장 트와이만-그린 간섭계를 이용한 운동 오차의 실시간 보상)

  • This paper presents an extended Twyman-Green interferometry that enables simultaneous and real-time measurement of 5-DOF motion errors of the translational moving stage. This method uses a null balancing technique in which two plane mirrors are used as target mirrors to generate an interferometric fringe utilizing the optical principles of Twyman-Green interferometry. Fringe is detected by 2D photodiode array for high-speed measurement. Errors are then independently suppressed by activation of piezoelectric actuators through real-time feedback control while the machine axis is moving. Experimental results demonstrate that a machine axis can be controlled with motion errors about 10 nm in linear displacement, 0.15 arcsec in angular displacement.

Enhancenent of Wear Resistance of TiN Coated High Speed Steel Tools through Improving some Coating Processes (코팅공정 개선에 의한 TiN코팅 고속도강 공구의 내마모특성 향상)

  • Using the are ion plating(AIP) process, TiN coating was deposited onto high speed steel substrates. The effects of coating thickness, titanisum interlayer and shield on wear resisting capability of the coated tools were investigated. In order to promote good adhesion between the substrate and the TiN coating a thin Ti interlayer was deposited. A shield was set up also between Ti target and high speed steel substrates to prevent molten droplets from reaching the substrate. Three series of varying thickness of TiN coated layer were prepared with or without the Ti interlayer, and with or without the shield. The tools with the Ti layer and the shield showed longer tool lifes than those of other series of tools and the commercially available TiN coated HSS tools, by up to 70%.

  • Multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) displacement measurement Is needed In many application fields: precision machine control, precision assembly, vibration analysis, and so on. This paper presents a new MDOF displacement measurement method using a laser diode (LD), two position-sensitive detectors (PSDs), and a conventional diffraction grating. It utilizes typical features of a diffraction grating to obtain the information of MDOF displacement. MDOF displacement is calculated from the independent coordinate values of the diffracted ray spots on the PSDs. Forward and inverse kinematic problems were solved to compute the MDOF displacement of a rigid body. Experimental results show maximum absolute errors of less than ${\pm}10$ micrometers in translation and ${\pm}30$ arcsecs in rotation.

수중운동의 표적추적성능 해석과 제어기 설계

  • The actuator's response delay, disturbance and measurement noise can often cause a significant error in the target tracking of an underwater vehicle. The first purpose of this paper is error analysis about motion of an underwater vehicle when the closed loop system has actuator and disturbance and noise. The underwater vehicle is simulated for cases of various disturbances. The second purpose is robust controller design for the underwater vehicle with parameter uncertainty. So, two robust control methods are applied for the underwater vehicle. One is standard $H_{\infty}$ control, and the other is time-varying sliding mode control with modified saturation function. Suboptimal design parameters for $H_{\infty}$ control, and design parameters for time-varying switching surfaces are provided Simulations for the two controllers are carried out and their performances are analyzed.lyzed.

  • In the electronic, medical, aerospace and automobile industries, many products and parts are manufactured by joining. Recently, as these get smaller, micro joining is becoming more and more important. In this study, micro wire-to-micro wire parallel joining was performed using single mode fiber laser. Maximum power of the fiber laser is 100 W. The CCD(Charge- Coupled Device, CCD) camera to observe the specimen was made up. The objective was applied to micro joining system to make a small spot size of laser beam. In order to control the target position, micro-multi-axis-stage was set up. This paper presents results for the single mode fiber laser joining of micro wires.

  • The closed-loop system modeling of an Active/semiactive suspension system has been accomplished through an artificial neural Networks. The 7DOF full model as the system equation of motion has been derived and the output feedback linear quadratic regulator has been designed for the control purpose. For the neural networks training set of a sample data has been obtained through the computer simulation. A 7DOF full model with LQR controller simulated under the several road conditions such as sinusoidal bumps and the rectangular bumps. A general multilayer perceptron neural network is used for the dynamic modeling and the target outputs are feedback to the input layer. The Backpropagation method is used as the training algorithm. The modeling of system and the model validation have been shown through computer simulations.

  • TiYN coated high speed steel tools have been developed and their tool lifes were assessed. First yttrium alloyed titanium target was manufactured, then using the arc ion plating(AIP) technique TiYN coating was deposited onto high speed steel substrate. Three kinds of varying thickness of TiYN coated tools were prepared. Cutting tests were carried out with theses tools and for comparison with the commercially available uncoated, TiN, TiCN and TiAlN coated tools. During the cutting tests flank wear width vs. cutting time was measured. It has been revealed that the newly developed TiYN coated tools show superior tool life characteristics to others.

  • In this paper, main target is to select parameters for prediction of tool wear and detection of tool fracture. The research about choosing parameter for prediction of tool wear is done by using force ratios. Also current sensor, tool-dynamometer, and accelerometer are used for researching detection method of tool fracture. Experiment is done using Taguchi's method in medium machining conditions. Parameter which is best for prediction of tool wear and detection of tool fracture by deviation analysis is selected. In this paper, tool wear means flank wear.

  • Scanning Acoustic Microscope (SAM) is used as an important nondestructive test tool in semiconductor reliability evaluation and failure analysis. However, inspections of chip attach adhesive interface fer thin chip has proven difficulty as the reflected signals from the chip top and bottom are superimposed. In this paper, in order to overcome this difficulty, a new signal processing method based on the deconvolution technique combined with the wavelet transform is proposed. The wavelet transform complements a disability of deconvolution technique of which performance largely decreases when the waveform of target signal is not identical to that of reference signal. Performances of the proposed method are demonstrated by through computer simulations using model signal and experiments for the fabricated semiconductor samples, and satisfactory results are obtained.

  • Deformation of soft tissue is known inhomogeneous and non-linear in general. In this study, we propose a measurement methodology of local/global strain during soft tissue elongation precisely using laser extensometer which has high accuracy, resolution and is possible to measure global/local strain. The mechanical tensile test are performed on tibialis cranialis, flexor hallucis longus, extensor digitorum longus of swine hindlimb. In order to measure target displacement, reflective marker is attached to detect elongation on specimen using surgical adhesive. The result of this study is to show that laser extensometer is valid to measure longitudinal elongation which is inhomogeneous and non-linear fur soft tissue.
