As a part of target motion analysis(TMA) with highly noisy bearings-only measurements from a passive sonar system, a nonlinear batch estimator is proposed to provide the initial estimates to a sequential estimator called the modified gain extended Kalman filter(MGEKF). Based on the system observability analysis of passive target tracking, a practical and effective method is suggested to determine the observer maneuvers for improved TMA performance through system observability enhancing. Also suggested is a method to determine observer location for enhanced system observability at the initial phase of TMA from various engagement boundaries which represent the relationship between observer-target relative geometrical data and system observability. The proposed TMA methods are tested by a series of computer simulation runs.

In this paper, the measurements preprocessing algorithm for the fading of bearing and frequency measurements is proposed, which can improve the performance of BFTMA(Bearing and Frequency Target Motion Analysis). The fading and detection relation between bearing and frequency are rigorously established for measurements preprocessing, and BFTMA can be carried out the estimation of target motion by using measurements preprocessing. Batch estimation with bearing and frequency using the proposed algorithm can be applied to estimate the initial target states despite of the fading of frequency measurement. Simulation results show that BFTMA using the proposed measurements preprocessing has superior estimation performance, compared with batch estimation using only bearing measurements.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of martial art type and target height on the ground reaction force factors during Dollyuchagi motion. Data were collected using force plate. Five Taekwondo players and five Hapkido players were tested during Dollyuchagi motion to three different target heights(0.8, 1.2, 1.6 m). After analysis of kinetics using force plate data, maximum vertical ground reaction force was 1.62~2.44 BW, and impulse was $0.66\sim1.01 BW{\cdot}s$. Even though there was no difference for maximum ground reaction forces and impulse between Hapkido and Taekwondo, as target height was higher, impulse increased. Anterior-posterior and vertical ground reaction forces at kicking foot take-off were greater with target height, although there was no difference for medio-lateral force with target height. At impact there was significant difference for anterior-posterior ground reaction force between Hapkido and Taekwondo players. Taekwondo players' force (range, -0.23~-0.26 BW) was greater than Hapkido players's force (range, -0.08~-0.14 BW).
When generating spectrum-compatible artificial ground motion in engineering practices, the effect of the variation in fitting parameters on the distribution of the peak ground displacement (PGD) has not yet drawn enough attention. In this study, a method for simulating ground motion matching for multiple targets is developed. In this method, a frequency-dependent amplitude envelope function with statistical parameters is introduced to simulate the nonstationarity of the frequency in earthquake ground motion. Then, several groups of time-history acceleration with different temporal and spectral nonstationarities were generated to analyze the effect of nonstationary parameter variations on the distribution of PGD. The following conclusions are drawn from the results: (1) In the simulation of spectrum-compatible artificial ground motion, if the acceleration time-history is generated with random initial phases, the corresponding PGD distribution is quite discrete and an uncertain number of PGD values lower than the limit value are observed. Nevertheless, the mean values of PGD always meet the requirement in every group. (2) If the nonstationary frequencies of the ground motion are taken into account when fitting the target spectrum, the corresponding PGD values will increase. A correlation analysis shows that the change in the mean and the dispersion values, from before the frequencies are controlled to after, correlates with the modal parameters of the predominant frequencies. (3) Extending the maximum period of the target spectrum will increase the corresponding PGD value and, simultaneously, decrease the PGD dispersion. Finally, in order to control the PGD effectively, the ground motion simulation method suggested in this study was revised to target a specified PGD. This novel method can generate ground motion that satisfies not only the required precision of the target spectrum, peak ground acceleration (PGA), and nonstationarity characteristics of the ground motion but also meets the required limit of the PGD, improving engineering practices.

For improving the motion accuracy of hydrostatic table, corrective machining algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm consists of three main processes. Reverse analysis is performed firstly to estimate rail profile from measured linear and angular motion error, in the algorithm. For the next step, correctwe machining information is decided as referring to the estimating rail profile. Finally, motion errors on correctively machined rail are analized by using motion error analysls method proposed in the previous paper. These processes can be rtcrated if the analized motion errors are worse than target accuracy. In order to verify the validity of the algorithm theoretically, motion errors by the estimated rail after corrective machining are compared with motion errors by true rail assumed as the measured value. Estimated motion errors show good agreement with assumed values, and it is confirmed that the algorithm IS effective to acquire the corrective machming information to improve the accuracy of hydrostatic table.
In this study, solution models are proposed to obtain code-compatible ground motion record sets which can be used for both uni-directional and bi-directional dynamic analyses. Besides scaled, unscaled ground motion record sets are obtained to show the utility and efficiency of the solution models. For scaled ground motion sets the proposed model is based on hybrid HS-Solver which integrates heuristic harmony search (HS) algorithm with the spreadsheet Solver add-in. For unscaled ground motion sets HS based solution model is proposed. Design spectra defined in Eurocode-8 for different soil types are selected as target spectra. The European Strong Motion Database is used to get ground motion record sets. Also, a sensitivity analysis is conducted to evaluate the effect of different HS solution parameters on the solution accuracy. Results show that the proposed solution models can be regarded as efficient ways to develop scaled and unscaled ground motion sets compatible with code-based design spectra.
Previous studies of kinematic analysis of golf swing usually dealt with variations vertically. The purpose of the study was to examine the horizontal hip joints motion of the fifteen male professional golfers during driver swinging. Kinematic variables were calculated by the Kwon3D motion analysis program. Paired t-tests and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the hip height, distance, displacement, and position differences. Results showed that there were no hip height changes and no hip height differences between left and right hip from address to impact. The axis of the backswing was braced right hip, the axis of the downswing was moving left hip. Hips position at the top of the backswing showed that hips move to target prior to hands, which means the sequential motion of the chain linked body segments. From address to impact, left hip moving distance was longer than right hip(p<.001), but during the whole swing, right hip moving distance was longer than left hip(p<.001). Hip rotation angle to target line was $-48.14{\pm}9.32^{\circ}$ at top of the backswing, $40.88{\pm}8.44^{\circ}$ at impact, and $104.70{\pm}8.14^{\circ}$ at finish.

Unsupervised Video Object Segmentation (UVOS) is a highly challenging problem in computer vision as the annotation of the target object in the testing video is unknown at all. The main difficulty is to effectively handle the complicated and changeable motion state of the target object and the confusion of similar background objects in video sequence. In this paper, we propose a novel deep Dual-stream Co-enhanced Network (DC-Net) for UVOS via bidirectional motion cues refinement and multi-level feature aggregation, which can fully take advantage of motion cues and effectively integrate different level features to produce high-quality segmentation mask. DC-Net is a dual-stream architecture where the two streams are co-enhanced by each other. One is a motion stream with a Motion-cues Refine Module (MRM), which learns from bidirectional optical flow images and produces fine-grained and complete distinctive motion saliency map, and the other is an appearance stream with a Multi-level Feature Aggregation Module (MFAM) and a Context Attention Module (CAM) which are designed to integrate the different level features effectively. Specifically, the motion saliency map obtained by the motion stream is fused with each stage of the decoder in the appearance stream to improve the segmentation, and in turn the segmentation loss in the appearance stream feeds back into the motion stream to enhance the motion refinement. Experimental results on three datasets (Davis2016, VideoSD, SegTrack-v2) demonstrate that DC-Net has achieved comparable results with some state-of-the-art methods.
A conventional Closest Point of Approach (CPA) analysis allows a non-maneuvering moving source that is radiating a constant frequency tone to be located using doppler shifted frequency measurements obtained by a stationary receiver. The original frequency, relative speed of the target, time at the CPA, and range from the CPA to the sensor are estimated by the conventional CPA. However, this paper proposes a new CPA analysis that allows the motion parameters of a target to be estimated using the bearing and frequency measurements obtained by a moving receiver that has a constant velocity. The validity of the proposed estimation scheme is confirmed through a performance analysis and simulation study.
TMA (Target Motion Analysis) in passive sonar is generally conducted with the bearing only or the bearing frequency. In order to conduct TMA fast and accurately, it is essential to estimate a initial target maneuver precisely. The accuracy of TMA can be improved by using SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) information and acoustic propagation model additionally. This method assumes that the radiated noise level of the target is known, but the accuracy of TMA can be degraded due to a mismatch between the assumed radiated noise level and the actual radiated noise level. In this paper, TMA with the acoustic propagation model, bearing measurements, and SNR information is conducted in the ocean environment of South Korea (East Sea/ Yellow Sea/ South Sea). And the performance analysis of TMA for the mismatch in the radiated noise is presented.
