  • c-Si solar cells currently account for more than 90% of the solar energy market. Research on tandem junction solar cells to overcome efficiency limitations is drawing attention at a time when new technologies are being developed to secure the price competitiveness of silicon solar cells. Among several candidate materials for silicon-based tandem solar cells, perovskite has recently been studied as it is suitable for the ease of process as well as for its properties as a tandem solar cell material. In this study, we want to review the research trends and technology limitations of 2-T Perovskite/SHJ tandem junction solar cells.

1-D Analysis of Tandem-ejector for the Engine-bay Ventilation (엔진베이 환기용 탠덤 이젝터의 1차원 해석모델링 기법 개발)

  • Tandem-ejector has been devised for engine-bay cooling. In this study, 1-D model has been developed to analyze Tandem-ejector. In the model, the primary, the secondary and the tertiary flow conditions have been analyzed with isentropic process. The mixing process has been analyzed with conservation laws based on the control volume analysis. The total pressure loss of the primary flow has been analyzed under the matching condition between the static pressure of Tandem-ejector discharge flow and atmospheric pressure. Consequently, 1-D model can predict Tandem-ejector performance accurately and provide the performance map.

Optical and Electrical Properties of Two-Wavelength White Tandem Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Red and Blue Materials (적색과 청색 물질을 사용한 2파장 방식 백색 적층 OLED의 광학 및 전기적 특성)

  • We studied optical and electrical properties of two-wavelength white tandem organic light-emitting diodes using red and blue materials. White fluorescent OLEDs were fabricated using Alq3 : Rubrene (3 vol.% 5 nm) / SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 25 nm) as emitting layer (EML). White single fluorescent OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 9.7 cd/A, and tandem fluorescent OLED showed 18.2 cd/A. Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of single and tandem fluorescent OLEDs was (0.385, 0.435), (0.442, 0.473) at $1,000cd/m^2$, respectively. White hybrid OLEDs were fabricated using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 10 nm) / CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.% 20 nm) as EML. White single hybrid OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 7.8 cd/A, and tandem hybrid OLED showed 26.4 cd/A. Maximum current efficiency of tandem hybrid OLED was more twice as high as single OLED. CIE coordinates of single hybrid OLED was (0.315, 0.333), and tandem hybrid OLED was (0.448, 0.363) at $1,000cd/m^2$. CIE coordinates in white tandem OLEDs compared to those for single OLEDs observed red shift. This work reveals that stacked white OLED showed current efficiency improvement and red shifted emission than single OLED.

Emission Characteristics of Blue Fluorescence Tandem OLED Using MoOx (MoOx를 사용한 청색 형광 Tandem OLED의 발광 특성)

  • To improve emission efficiency of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs), we fabricated the tandem OLED of ITO / 2-TNATA / NPB / SH-1: 3 vol.% BD-2 / Bphen / Liq / Al / $MoO_x$ (X nm) / 2-TNATA / NPB / SH-1: 3 vol.% BD-2 / Bphen / Liq / Al structure. And emission properties of single OLED and tandem OLED with $MoO_x$ thickness as charge generation layer (CGL) were measured. The current emission efficiency and quantum efficiency of tandem OLED with $MoO_x$ of 3 nm thickness were improved compare with single OLED from 7.46 cd/A and 5.39% to 22.57 cd/A and 11.76%, respectively. In case of thicker or thinner than $MoO_x$ of 3~5 nm, the current emission efficiency and quantum efficiency were decreased, because balance of electron and hole in emission layer was not matching. The driving voltage was increased from 8 V of single OLED to 15 V of tandem OLED by thickness increase of OLED. As a result, it was possible to improve the emission efficiency of OLEDs by optimized $MoO_x$ thickness.

  • We describe a method for producing polyclonal antibodies against peptide antigen cytochrome P450 1A2 and 3A4 using a tandem repeat of the epitope region and incorporation of proline residue between the repeated sequences. An ELISA assay revealed more efficient generation of polyclonal antibodies to tandem repeat peptide antigens than mono-epitope peptides. The incorporation of proline residues further stimulated antibody production.

  • In this paper, two dimensional theoretical solutions of temperature distribution and thermal stress due to tandem cooling in an infinite plate were studied. Temperature distribution and thermal stress were calculated by numerical integration. Calculated temperature distributions were in good agreement with the result of the experiments by Park, and calculated thermal stresses were in good agreement with physical phenomena. This solutions could be applied to the practical tandem cooling operations.

  • The torque efficiency of oil hydraulic pump is an important factor for it's performance characteristics. A study on the performance test method of oil hydraulic pump is based on test standard, but there is to be desired an study for double or tandem type oil hydraulic piston pump. So in this study present a test method on the tandem pump for torque efficiency and analysis method of the results.

  • A loop-shaping LQ controller is synthesized for tandem cold mills. And a new loop- shaping technique is suggested for LQ controller design. The suggested loop-shaping LQ control system is compared with the standard loop-shaping LQ control system. The simulation results show that the theickness and interstand tension control accuracy of tandem cold mills can be improved by the compensated loop-shaping LQ controller.

  • Aerodynamic characteristics of tandem airfoil under ground effect is investigated numerically. Some numerical results for NACA 6409 tandem airfoil are presented. The numerical results show that as being decreased distance between airfoils, the lift coefficient of leading airfoil is increased and that of trailing airfoil is decreased. Drag coefficient shows opposite property, At the same distance between leading airfoil and trailing airfoil, lower position of trailing airfoil give better tandem airfoil effect.

  • We present the effect of interlayers of polymer tandem solar cells on their photovoltaic performance. P-type and n-type interlayers are essential for the series-connection of the subcells and enable to form the tandem cell architecture by the solution processing. In this study, we use PEDOT:PSS, nanocrystalline $TiO_2$, and blends of semiconducting polymers and fullerene derivatives as a hole transporting layer, electron transporting layer, and photoactive layers, respectively. We show that photovoltaic performances of polymer tandem solar cells depending on various PEDOT:PSS layers with the different electric conductivity and the various $TiO_2$ layer thickness.
