Research on heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water based on factorial and correspondence analysis

  • The study of heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water plays an important role in improving the heat transfer efficiency of the reactor. Taking the supercritical natural circulation experimental bench as the research object, the effects of power, flow, pipe diameter and mainstream temperature on the heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water were studied. At the same time, the experimental data of Chen Yuzhou's supercritical water heat transfer coefficient was collected. Through the factorial design method, the influence of different factors and their interactions on the heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water is analyzed. Through the corresponding analysis method, the influencing factors of different levels of heat transfer coefficient are analyzed. It can be found: Except for the effects of flow rate, power, power-temperature and temperature, the influence of other factors on the natural circulation heat transfer coefficient of supercritical water is negligible. When the heat transfer coefficient is low, it is mainly affected by the pipe diameter. As the heat transfer coefficient is further increased, it is mainly affected by temperature and power. When the heat transfer coefficient is at a large level, the influence of the flow rate is the largest at this time.

과립형 β-삼인산칼슘을 사용한 Brushite계 골시멘트의 보관 조건에 따른 경화 특성 (Effect of Storage Conditions on the Setting Properties of Brushite Bone Cement Containing Granular β-Tricalcium Phosphate)

  • In the bone cement composed of dense granules of $\beta-Ca_3(PO_4){_2}(\beta-TCP)$ and $Ca(H_2PO_4){_2}H_2O$, the compressive strength, setting time and temperature rise were measured to observe the degradation of cement with respect to the stored days before setting. Decreases of compressive strength and temperature rise were observed, while setting time increased with respect to the stored days. The similar trends were repeated with the increase of temperature of storage. Such a change virtually meant the fading of the character of cement and it took place only when the two starting materials were mixed during storage. The degradation could be mitigated taking advantage of granular $\beta$-TCP instead of powdery one. The formation of $CaHPO_4$, which resulted from reaction with ambient humidity, was attributed to the degradation observed during storage. Dependence of the degradation behavior on mixing and temperature during storage was discussed in terms of the driving force for reaction of cement.

  • 원자로 압력용기 재료인 SA 533 Grade B Class 1강의 파괴인성에 대하여 -4$0^{\circ}C$~288$^{\circ}C$의 온도 구간에서 Charpy 충격시편을 이용하여 연구하였다. 동적 파괴인성은 계장화 충격시험으로, 정적 파괴인성은 unloading compliance 방법에 따라 3-point bend test로 수행되었으며, 결과는 큰 시편에 의한 자료와 비교하였다. 온도에 대한 재료의 적절한 파괴인성치(하한값)는 천이온도 이상에서는 정직 파괴인성을, 그 이하의 온도에서는 동적 파괴인성을 택함으로써 유추할 수 있음을 알게 되었으며 side-groove가 14%이상일 때 시험은 ASTM E 813의 조건을 만족함을 보였다.

Cellulose acetate membrane preparation by phase inversion to estimate optimized parameters and its performance study

  • Development in advanced separation processes leads to the significant advancement in polymeric membrane preparation methodology. Therefore, present research investigated the preparation and characterization of cellulose acetate membrane by phase inversion separation method to determine optimized operating parameters. Prepared CA membrane's performance was been analyzed in terms of % rejection and flux. Investigation was conducted to study effect of different parameters such as polymer concentration, evaporation rate, thickness of film, coagulation bath properties, temperature of polymer solution and of the coagulation bath etc. CA membrane was fabricated by taking polymer concentration 10wt% and 11wt% with zero second evaporation time and varying film thickness over non-woven polyester fabric. Effect of coagulation bath temperature (CBT) and casting solution temperature were also been studied. The experimental results from SEM showed that the surface morphology had been changed with polymer r concentration, coagulation bath and casting solution temperature, etc. Lower polymer concentration leads to lower precipitation time giving porous membrane. The prepared membrane was tested for advanced waste water treatment of relevant effluent stream in pilot plant to study flux and rejection behavior of the membrane.

곡선 강박스거더교의 온도거동 분석을 위한 온도분포 예측기법에 관한 연구 (A Temperature Predicting Method for Thermal Behaviour Analysis of Curved Steel Box Girder Bridges)

  • 곡선 강박스거더교는 부분적인 일사에 의해 교량단면에 불균등한 온도분포와 함께 기타 불리한 하중조건이 복합되어 작용되므로 교량의 수명이 단축되거나 사용성을 저하시킬 수 있는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 곡선교 설계 시 방위각, 받침배치방식, 형상 등에 따라 온도에 의한 영향을 고려해야 하지만 온도거동의 특성이 명확히 규명되어 있지 않을 뿐만 아니라 현행 설계기준의 규정도 명확하지 못하여 보다 많은 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구에서 제안된 일사량 계산식과 열전달 유한요소해석기법을 병용하여 곡선 강박스거더교의 기하학적 형상 및 방위각에 따라 변화하는 온도분포를 보다 쉬운 방법으로 예측하는 기법을 개발하였고 실측된 곡선교의 온도자료를 통해 검증하였다. 또한, 개발된 온도분포예측기법과 3차원 구조해석을 이용하여 일사에 의한 곡선교의 거동을 분석한 결과, 곡선 외측면이 남측을 향하는 경우에서 고정단측 받침의 교축방향과 교축직각방향 반력이 크게 나타났으며 곡선반경이 감소할수록 모든 방향의 반력이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 온도분포예측기법을 바탕으로 향후 관련 연구를 통해 현재의 설계기준을 보완할 수 있는 합리적인 온도하중의 제시가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Non-Newtonian thermal Effects in Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication between the Two Rolling Systems

  • To analyze complicated phenomena on the fluid hydrodynamic and the elastic deformation between sliding body surfaces, an analysis to the elastohydrodynamic lubrication of sliding contacts has been developed taking into account the thermal and non-Newtonian effects. The computational technique handled the simultaneous solution of the non-Newtonian hydrodynamic effects, elasticity, the load, the viscosity variation, and temperatures rise. The results included the lubricant pressure profile, film thickness, velocity, shear stress, and temperature distribution, and the sliding frictional force on the surface at various slip conditions. These factors showed a great influence on the behavior resulted in the film shape and pressure distribution. Especially, Non-Newtonian effects and temperature rise by the sliding friction force acted as important roles in the lubrication performance.

판형 상변화 물질 용기의 2상 열교환 현상 연구 (A Study on Two Phase Heat Exchange of Plate Type PCM Container)

  • This work studies qualitative thermal characteristics of PCM cold storage medium container and its surrounding streams. Experimental parameters are initial PCM temperature and cold water flow rate. A mathematical modeling was establised to estimate temperature distribution and the cooling process. We found that the phase-change temperatures of PCM varies from 6 to $8^{\circ}C$ which is constant for other materials and that the dominant heat transfer resistance is that on the container side taking about 3/4 of the total resistance. The one dimensional mathematical model predicts experimental data quit well.

  • A thermal analysis method taking into account energy balance in each elements of heat exchanger was introduced. This method has a merit in predicting the temperature field over the heat exchanger in detail. To verify this method, the results were compared with the published ones. The thermal analysis of the radiator in vehicles was also conducted and the results were compared with experimental ones. It is concluded that this method can be used in thermal analysis with relatively small error. When the velocity profile of inlet air is not uniform, the outlet temperature of cooling water is higher than that of uniform velocity profile.

Condensation Prevention Performance Assessment Taking Into Account Thermal Insulation Performance Degradation Due to Aging for Apartment Housing

  • Purpose: The current study analyzed trends in thermal insulation performance with aging, and condensation characteristics caused by the former. Method: Thermal insulation and condensation prevention performance of an architecture were assessed using Temperature Difference Ration Inside, or TDRi. Subjects of this quantitative analysis in thermal insulation performance change due to aging included recently constructed apartments and aged apartments older than 40 years. Time series comparison and analysis were conducted to observed changes in the thermal insulation performance and condensation characteristics. Result: Analysis showed that wall insulation performance degraded with aging regardless of fortified insulating material usage or insulating material type, which caused increased danger of condensation. In addition, when fortified insulating material was installed on the connection between the walls, insulation performance degradation was lower compared to cases in which fortified materials were not used. In all cases from 1 to 10, the rate of thermal insulation performance degradation increased after 20 years of aging.

Processing and Mechanical Properties of Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr-Al Foams by Pack-Cementation

  • Open-cell Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr-Al(with gamma/gamma prime microstructure typical of Bi-base super alloys) foams are manufactured by pack-cementation at $1000{\boxplus}$degrees C, followed by homogenization at $1200{\boxplus}C$. The resulting alloyed foams retain the low relative densities (less than 3.5 wt.%). The oxidation behavior of Ni-Cr foams turns out to be identical to that of bulk Ni-Cr alloys, after taking into account the foam's higher surface area. The room-temperature compressive behavior of the Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr-Al is compared to model predictions. Additionally, the foam creep behavior, measured between 680 and $825{\boxplus}C$ in the stress range of 0.1-0.3 MPa, compared to two analytical models, namely strut compression and strut bending as high-temperature deformation modes.
