졸-겔법으로 제조한 ZrO2·SiO2계 결정화 유리의 결정화 및 파괴인성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Crystallization and Fracture Toughness of Glass Ceramics in the ZrO2·SiO2 Systems Prepared by the Sol-Gel Method)

  • Precursor gels with the composition of $xZrO_2{\cdot}(100-x)SiO_2$ systems (x=10, 20 and 30 mol%) were prepared by the sol-gel method. Kinetic parameters, such as activation energy, Avrami's exponent, n, and dimensionality crystal growth value, m, have been simultaneously calculated from the DTA data using Kissinger and Matusita equations. The crystallite size dependence on tetragonal to monoclinic transformation of $ZrO_2$ was investigated using XRD, in relation to the fracture toughness. The crystallization of tetragonal $ZrO_2$ occurred through 3-dimensional diffusion controlled growth(n=m=2) and the activation energy for crystallization was calculated using Kissinger and Matusita equations, as about $310{\sim}325{\pm}10kJ/mol$. The growth of $t-ZrO_2$, in proportion to the cube of radius, increased with increasing heating temperature and heat-treatment time. It was suggested that the diffusion of Zr4+ions by Ostwald ripening was rate-limiting process for the growth of $t-ZrO_2$ crystallite size. The fracture toughness of $xZrO_2{\cdot}(100-x)SiO_2$ systems glass ceramics increased with increasing crystallite size of $t-ZrO_2$. The fracture toughness of $30ZrO_2{\cdot}70SiO_2$ system glass ceramics heated at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 5 h was $4.84Mpam^{1/2}$ at a critical crystaliite size of 40 nm.

Al 2013-T8 합금에서 Zr 첨가에 따른 기계적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Mechanical Properties with Addition of Zr in Al 2013-T8 Alloy for Galvanizing Equipment)

  • In this study, the recently developed Al 2013 alloy was T8-tempered and, to improve the strength and corrosion-resistance, slight amounts of Zr of 0.2 wt% and 0.5 wt%, respectively, were added and the mechanical properties were analyzed. For microstructure and precipitate analysis, OM observation, XRD analysis, and TEM analysis were performed, and for the mechanical property analysis, hardness and tensile strength tests were done. Also, in order to determine the corrosion rate according to the Zr content, a potentiodynamic polarization test was performed and the properties were compared and analyzed. The size of the precipitate varied with the content of Zr and was finest at Zr content of 0.2 wt%; it grew larger at 0.5 wt%, at which point the hardness value accordingly showed the same trend. On the other hand, as calculated from the aspect of chemical bonding among atoms, it was confirmed that the tensile strength and the corrosion-resistance increased with the same trend.

  • 이트리아 안정화 지르코니아(Y-TZP)에 5가 산화물$(Ta_2O_5,\;Nb_2O_5)$을 첨가하여 $1500^{\circ}C$온도에서 상압소결한 삼성분계중 quasi-binary system인 $ZrO_2-YTa(Nb)O_4$의 조성영역안에서 상 안정성을 관찰하기 위해 상태도를 작성하였으며, 결정립 크기나 annealing 온도에 상관없이 상 안정성을 유지하는 non-transformable $t-ZrO_2$ solid solution$(NT_{ss}$ )영역을 확인하고 안정화 mechanism을 조사하였다. $NT_{ss}$ 의 상 안정성은 정방정 fergusonite 구조를 갖는 $YTa(Nb)O_4$의 안정화로 상 변태를 억제하여 우수한 상 안정성을 유지하는 것으로 추정되었다. 기계적 특성을 향상시키기 위해 상 변태율이 가장 좋은 transformable-TZP $(T_{ss/})$ 를 에 첨가하여 조사한 결과 mixture의 조성이 $NT_{ss}$ 영역밖의 $NT_{ss}$영역에 위치하여도 상 안정성과 우수한 기계적 특성을 갖는다는 것이 발견되었다.

  • Microstructure and mechanical properties of fibrous $A1_2O_3-(m-ZrO_2)/t-ZrO_2$ composite were investigated depending on the dimensional array. By the change of stacking arrangement of fibrous filaments, 2 and 3-dimensional fibrous composites were successfully obtained without bulk defects such as shrinkage cavity and cracks. The maximum mechanical properties were achieved In the 3-dimensional array composite, due to the fine fibrous and dense microstructure control, in which the values of vickers hardness, fracture toughness and bending strength were about 1507 Hv, $7.2MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ and 650 MPa, respectively.

CaO에 의하여 부분 안정화된 $ZrO_2$의 고온 전기 전도도에 대한 연구 (Investigation of High Temperature Electrical Conductivity of CaO-partially Stabilized $ZrO_2$)

  • The present work was undertaken: (1) to determine if CaO-partially stabilized $ZrO_2$ prepared by Hot Petroleum Drying Method would show better ionic conductor as an oxygen sensor in molten metals than that prepared by Oxide Wet Mixing Method and than CaO-fully stabilized $ZrO_2$, and (2) to understand the nature of conduction mechanism of CaO-partially stabilized $ZrO_2$ by a comparison of measured electrical conductivity data with theory on defect structure of pure monoclinic $ZrO_2$ and fully stabilized cubic $ZrO_2$. The DC electrical conductivity was measured by 3-probe technique and the AC electrical conductivity by 2-probe technique as a function of temperature in the range 973-1373 K and oxygen partial pressure in the range 10-1-10-25Mpa. The results of the experiments were as follows: 1. CaO-partially stabilized $ZrO_2$ prepared by Hot petroleum Drying Method showed at T=1094-1285 K and $Po_2$=10-7-10-25 MPa a nearly ionic conduction with 4 times higher conductivity than that prepared by Oxide Wet Mixing Method. 2. High-oxygen pressure conductivity tends toward a Po_2^{+1/5}-Po_2^{+1/6}$dependence. An analysis of possible defect structures suggests that CaO-partially stabilized $ZrO_2$ has an anti-Frenkel defect in which singly or doubly ionized oxygen interstitials and defect electrons predominate at T=1094-1285 K and $Po_2$=10-1-10-7MPa. 3. The activation energy for pure electron hole-conduction and ionic conduction of CaO-partially stabilized $ZrO_2$ was found to be 130 KJ/mol at T=973-1373 K, $Po_2$=2, 127 10-2 MPa(air) and 153KJ/mol at T=1094-1285 K respectively.

  • Ni-Mn 산화물 NTC 서미스터의 미세구조와 전기적 특성에 미치는 Zr $O_2$ 첨가의 효과를 연구하였다. Zr $O_2$를 포함하는 Ni-Mn-Zr 산화물 소결체의 주요 상은 입방정 스피넬 구조를 가지는 NiO-Mn$_3$ $O_4$-Zr $O_2$의 고용체와 정방정 결정구조를 가지는 Zr $O_2$ 상이였다. Zr $O_2$의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 Ni-Mn-Zr산화물의 고용체를 형성하지 못하고 생성된 Zr $O_2$의 양이 증가하였다. NiO-Mn$_3$ $O_4$-Zr $O_2$ NTC 서미스터에 있어서 절대온도 역수(l/T)에 대한 로그 비저항(log $ho$)은 직선적인 관계가 있었고, 비저항, B$_{140}$320/정수 및 활성화 에너지는 Zr $O_2$ 함량이 증가함에 따라 크게 증가하였다.

Atomic layer chemical vapor deposition of Zr $O_2$-based dielectric films: Nanostructure and nanochemistry

  • A 4 nm layer of ZrOx (targeted x-2) was deposited on an interfacial layer(IL) of native oxide (SiO, t∼1.2 nm) surface on 200 mm Si wafers by a manufacturable atomic layer chemical vapor deposition technique at 30$0^{\circ}C$. Some as-deposited layers were subjected to a post-deposition, rapid thermal annealing at $700^{\circ}C$ for 5 min in flowing oxygen at atmospheric pressure. The experimental x-ray diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and high-resolution parallel electron energy loss spectroscopy results showed that a multiphase and heterogeneous structure evolved, which we call the Zr-O/IL/Si stack. The as-deposited Zr-O layer was amorphous $ZrO_2$-rich Zr silicate containing about 15% by volume of embedded $ZrO_2$ nanocrystals, which transformed to a glass nanoceramic (with over 90% by volume of predominantly tetragonal-$ZrO_2$(t-$ZrO_2$) and monoclinic-$ZrO_2$(m-$ZrO_2$) nanocrystals) upon annealing. The formation of disordered amorphous regions within some of the nanocrystals, as well as crystalline regions with defects, probably gave rise to lattice strains and deformations. The interfacial layer (IL) was partitioned into an upper Si $o_2$-rich Zr silicate and the lower $SiO_{x}$. The latter was sub-toichiometric and the average oxidation state increased from Si0.86$^{+}$ in $SiO_{0.43}$ (as-deposited) to Si1.32$^{+}$ in $SiO_{0.66}$ (annealed). This high oxygen deficiency in $SiO_{x}$ indicative of the low mobility of oxidizing specie in the Zr-O layer. The stacks were characterized for their dielectric properties in the Pt/{Zr-O/IL}/Si metal oxide-semiconductor capacitor(MOSCAP) configuration. The measured equivalent oxide thickness (EOT) was not consistent with the calculated EOT using a bilayer model of $ZrO_2$ and $SiO_2$, and the capacitance in accumulation (and therefore, EOT and kZr-O) was frequency dispersive, trends well documented in literature. This behavior is qualitatively explained in terms of the multi-layer nanostructure and nanochemistry that evolves.ves.ves.

Zr-Al-Cu-Ni계 합금의 비정질형성능에 미치는 Pd과 Ag 복합첨가의 영향 (The Influence of (Pd+Ag) Additions on the Glass Forming Ability of Zr-Al-Cu-Ni based Alloys)

  • The influence of Pd and Ag additions on the thermal stability, the glass forming ability (GFA) and mechanical property of $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{20}Ni_{10}Pb_{(5-x)}Ag_x$ (x = $0{\sim}5at%$) alloys obtained by melt spun and injection casting method have been investigated by using of X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis (DTA, DSC) and micro-Vickers hardness(Hv) testing. The thermal properties of melt-spun $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{20}Ni_{10}Pb_{(5-x)}Ag_x$ (x = $0{\sim}5at%$) alloys exhibit a supercooled liquid region(${\Delta}T_x$) exceeding 91 K before crystallization. The largest ${\Delta}T_x$ reaches as large as 126 K for the $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{20}Ni_{10}Pb_5$ alloy. The reduced glass transition temperature, $T_{rg}$ increased with increasing Ag content. The largest $T_{rg}$ is obtained for the $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{10}Ni_{10}Ag_5$ alloy. The $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{10}Ni_{10}Ag_5$ bulk amorphous alloy rod with 3 mm in diameter was fabricated by injection casting. Hv increased with increasing Ag content and the largest value was obtained for the $Zr_{55}Al_{10}Cu_{10}Ni_{10}Ag_5$ bulk amorphous alloy.

고투자율, 고포화자화 FeZrBAg 연자성 박막의 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of FeZrBAg Soft Magnetic Thin Films with High Permeability and High Magnetization)

  • 고투자율 및 고포화자화 특성을 동시에 만족하는 새로운 연자성 박막을 개발하기 위해 Fe-Zr-B계 조성에 Fe원소와 비고용 원소인 Ag를 첨가시킨 Fe86.7Zr3.3B4Ag6 비정질 박막을 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제조한 후 일축 자장중에서 1시간 동안 진공 열처리를 한 후 fan을 이용하여 냉각하여 특성을 조사하였다. Fe86.7Zr3.3B4Ag6 박막을 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 후 1.7T의 높은 포화자화와 1 Oe의 낮은 보자력으로 인해 50 MHz에서 투자율이 7,800(0.2 mOe)으로 우수한 연자기 특성을 나타내었으며, 1 MHz에서 손실이 1.4 W/cc(B=0.1T)로 매우 낮았다. 이러한 고주파 연자기 특성은 Ag 첨가에 의해 비정질 기지에 미세한 bcc $\alpha$-Fe cluster가 균일하게 형성되었기 때문이라 생각된다.
