웹 검색어 선택과정에서의 이용자 불확실성의 유형 : 자연과학연구자들의 정보탐색환경에 대한 고찰 (Typology of User Uncertainty in the Selection of Web Search Terms : Insight into the Information Seeking Context of Scholarly Researchers in the Field of Science)

  • 다수의 연구에서 정보추구 과정상 불확실성(Uncertainty)의 중요성이 지적되었지만, 실제 정보검색시스템을 이용한 탐색과정에서 이용자들의 불확실성에 대한 연구는 많지 않았다. 본 연구는 실제로 정보를 추구하는 이용자들의 웹 검색어 선정과정에서의 불확실성 인식을 조사하여, 정보탐색 과정에서의 다양한 불확실성 유형을 식별하였다. 불확실성 유형에 입각하여 발견된 불확실성의 주요 원인(Origins)은 정보검색시스템 및 서비스 발전을 위한 시사점을 제시하여준다.

Robust Nonlinear H$\infty$ FIR Filtering for Time-Varying Systems

  • This paper investigates the robust nonlinear H$_{\infty}$ filter with FIR(Finite Impulse Response) structure for nonlinear discrete time-varying uncertain systems represented by the state-space model having parameter uncertainty. Firstly, when there is no parameter uncertainty in the system, the discrete-time nominal nonlinear H$_{\infty}$ FIR filter is derived by using the equivalence relationship between the FIR filter and the recursive filter, which corresponds to the standard nonlinear H$_{\infty}$ filter. Secondly, when the system has the parameter uncertainty, the robust nonlinear H$_{\infty}$ FIR filter is proposed for the discrete-time nonlinear uncertain systems.

A Robust Extended Filter Design for SDINS In-Flight Alignment

  • In the case of a strapdown inertial navigation system (SDINS) with sizeable attitude errors, the uncertainty caused by linearization of the system degrades the performance of the filter. In this paper, a robust filter and various error models for the uncertainty are presented. The analytical characteristics of the proposed filter are also investigated. The results show that the filter does not require the statistical property of the system disturbance and that the region of the estimation error depends on a freedom parameter in the worst case. Then, the uncertainty of the SDINS is derived. Depending on the choice of the reference frame and the attitude error state, several error models are presented. Finally, various in-flight alignment methods are proposed by combining the robust filter with the error models. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed filter effectively improves the performance.

PIV 성능시험을 위한 표준실험장치 개발 (Development of Standard Experimental Apparatus for PIV Performance Evaluation)

  • An experimental apparatus for PIV performance evaluation has been developed. Stardard uncertainty of a two-dimensional cross-correlation PIV system was investigated based upon the standard experimental apparatus, which was devised to model the rigid body rotating flows. For the systematic analysis of the uncertainty introduced by each component (algorithm, CCD camera, frame grabber) of the PIV system, standard images are fed into the component independently. The standard experiments show that 53% of the uncertainty in the present PIV system results from the frame grabber but the errors from the algorithm and digital camera are ignorable.

불확정성 선형 시스템의 강인 극점 배치 (Robust Pole Assignment of Uncertain Linear Systems)

  • It is well-known that the poles of a system are closely related with the dynamics of the systems, and the pole assignment problem, which locates the poles in the desired regions, in one of the major problem in control theory. Also, it is always possible to assign poles to specific points for exactly known linear systems. But, it is impossible for the uncertain linear systems because of the uncertainties that originate from modeling error, system variations, sensing error and disturbances, so we must consider some regions instead of points. In this paper, we consider both the analysis and the design of robust pole assignment problem of linear system with time-varying uncertainty. The considered uncertainties are the unstructured uncertainty and the structured uncertainty, and the considered region is the circular region. Based on Lyapunov stability theorem and linear matrix inequality(LMI), we first present the analysis result for robust pole assignment, and then we present the design result for robust pole assignment. Finally, we give some numerical examples to show the applicability and usefulness of our presented results.

  • The e-Logistics means the virtual business activity and service architecture among the logistics companies based on the Internet technology. The management of vehicles' location in most conventional vehicle tracking system has some critical defects when it deals with data which are continuously changed. It means the conventional vehicle tracking system based on the conventional database is unable eventually to cope with the environment that should manage the frequently changed location of vehicles. The important things in the evaluation of the vehicle tracking system is to determine the threshold of cost of database ,update period and communication period between vehicles and the system. In other words, the difference between the reallocation of vehicle and the data in database can evaluate the overall performance of vehicle tracking systems. Most of the previous works considers only the information that is valid at the current time, and is hard to manage efficiently the past and future information. To overcome this problem, the efforts on moving objects management system(MOMS) and uncertainty processing have been started from a few years ago. In this paper, we propose an uncertainty processing model and system implementation of moving object that tracks the location of the vehicles. We adopted both linear-interpolation method and trigonometric function to chase up the location of vehicles for the past time as well as future time, respectively. We also explain the comprehensive examples of MOMS and uncertainty processing in parcel application that is one of major application of e-Logistics domain.

다축 힘/모멘트 센서 교정기의 개발 및 그의 불확도 평가 (Development of Calibration System for Multi-Axis Force/Moment Sensor and Its Uncertainty Evaluation)

  • This paper describes the development of the calibration system for a multi-axis force/moment sensor and its uncertainty evaluation. This calibration system can generate the continuous forces (${\pm}Fx,\;{\pm}Fy$ and ${\pm}Fz$) and moments (${\pm}Mx,\;{\pm}My$ and ${\pm}Mz$). Many kinds of multi-axis force/moment sensors in industries should be carried out the characteristic test or the calibration with the calibration system that can generate the forces and the moments. The calibration systems have been already developed are the disadvantages of the low capacity, the generation of step forces(10N, 20N ...) and step moments(1Nm, 2Nm ...) with weights, the high coasts in manufacture and so on. In this paper, the calibration system for a multi-axis force/moment sensor that can generate the continuous three forces and three moments was developed. Their ranges are $0{\sim}2000N$ in all force-directions and $0{\sim}400Nm$ in all moment-directions. And the system was evaluated in the expanded relative uncertainty. They were ${\pm}0.0004$ in all forces ${\pm}Fx,\;{\pm}Fy$ and ${\pm}Fz$, and ${\pm}0.0004$ in all moments ${\pm}Mx,\;{\pm}My$ and ${\pm}Mz$.

비구조화 불확실성을 갖는 양의 시변 이산 구간 시스템의 안정 조건 (Stability Conditions for Positive Time-Varying Discrete Interval System with Unstructured Uncertainty)

  • 음이 아닌 입력에 대하여 음이 아닌 초기상태에서 출발한 모든 상태변수 값들이 시간에 대하여 항상 음이 아닌 값을 유지하는 시스템은 양의 시스템으로 정의된다. 본 논문에서는 상태변수에 시변 지연시간과 비구조화된 불확실성이 함께 존재하는 양의 시변 선형 이산 구간 시스템의 안정조건을 새롭게 제안한다. 시변 지연시간은 변동가능한 최소와 최대 지연시간 범위 내에서 변하는 것으로 고려되며, 불확실성은 비선형성을 포함하여 그 최대 크기만을 알 수 있는 것으로 고려한다. 제안된 안정조건은 이전의 결과들이 시불변시스템에만 적용되었거나 불확실성에 대한 고려가 없었던 것을 개선한 것으로 매우 간단한 부등식의 형태로 표현된다. 안정조건은 리아프노프 안정이론을 이용하여 유도되며, 리아프노프 방정식의 상한 해 한계(upper solution bound)를 이용한 기존 결과에 비하여 많은 장점을 갖는다. 제안된 안정조건은 기존의 결과들을 포함하는 효과적인 것으로 수치예제를 통하여 이를 검증한다.

Build-up 기법을 이용한 대용량 힘 측정 시스템 개발 (Large Force Measuring System Using Build-up Technique;)

  • This paper describes the build-up force measuring system of 9.9 MN capacity which consists of nine force transducers of each having 1.1 MN capacity. We have specially designed a force transducer for a build-up force measuring system to reduce the uncertainty of a build-up system and to accomodate the new test procedure for a build-up system. It reveals that the relative uncertainty of the force measuring system is less than 1.5*10$^{-4}$ in the ran9e of 1-4.5 MN irrespective of loading direction. The force measuring system may be used to calibrate a 10 MN force standard machine to be used as a large force standard in Korea.

A Progress-based Expert System for Quantitative Assessments of Project Delay

  • Construction projects have frequently exceeded their schedule despite reliable estimates at the start of a project. This problem was attributed to unpredictable causes at the beginning and to shortage of proper tools to accurately predict project completion date. To supplement this difficulty, project managers need a comprehensive system that can be employed to monitor the progress of an ongoing project and to evaluate potential delay for achieving the goal on time. This paper proposed a progressive-based expert system for quantitative assessments of project delay at the early stages of the execution. Furthermore, the system is used to inspect the change of the uncertainty on completion date and its magnitude. The proposed expert system is helpful for furnishing project managers a warning signal as a project is going behind schedule and for tracking the changed uncertainty at a desired confidence level. The main objectives of this paper are to offer a new system to overcome the difficulties of conventional forecasting tools and to apply a construction project into the system to illustrate its effectiveness. This paper focuses on construction phase of project development and is intended for the use by project managers.
