The quantitative evaluation of DEM(Digital Elevation Map) is very important to the assessment of the effectiveness for the applied 3D image analysis technique. This paper presents a new quantitative evaluation method of 3D reconstruction process by using synthetic images. The proposed method is based on the assumption that a preacquired DEM and ortho-image should be the pseudo ground truth. The proposed evaluation process begins by generating a pair of photo-realistic synthetic images of the terrain from any viewpoint in terms of application of the constructed ray tracing algorithm to the pseudo ground truth. By comparing the DEM obtained by a pair of photo-realistic synthetic images with the assumed pseudo ground truth, we can analyze the quantitative error in DEM and evaluate the effectiveness of the applied 3D analysis method. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation method, we carry out the quantitative and the qualitative experiments. For the quantitative experiment, we prove the accuracy of the photo-realistic synthetic image. Also, the proposed evaluation method is experimented on the 3D reconstruction with regards to the change of the matching window. Based on the fact that the experimental result agrees with the anticipation, we can qualitatively manifest the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation method.
In order to effectively, and accurately assess seawater intrusion in coastal area, multidisciplinary data including geophysical, well logging, and hydrogeochemical data should be managed in systematical way. Such systematical management of data is critical key to improve the re-usability of the data as well as the accuracy of the assessment by means of providing a method of synthetic analysis. Therefore, for systematical management of multidisciplinary data in seawater intrusion problem, we have developed a database management system and 3-D visualization interface based on geographic information system in this, study. All geophysical survey, well logging, hydrochemical, as well as drilling, data are classified as attribute data using Microsoft Access, and joined with spatial information based on ArcView. The database management system and 3-D visualization interface to handle these data, also, developed using the script language of ArcView. We think the development of database and 3-D visualization system will improve the efficiency of data management, user-friendliness of data access, and accuracy of data analysis.

STEP Cube Lab. classified as a pico-satellite has been being developed by SSTL(Space Technology Synthesis Laboratory) in Chosun University. Its main mission objective is to perform the on-orbit verification of core space technologies, which will be the potential candidates for future space missions. In this paper, to guarantee successful mission operation of the cube satellite under extremely severe space thermal environment condition, the system level thermal design and analysis has been performed. The effectiveness of the design has been verified through on-orbit thermal analysis of cube satellite.
The present study has been conducted to investigate the reaction kinetics and pyrolysis parameters for flame propagation analysis of furniture material components. TGA measurement for component materials such as MDF (medium density fiberboad) panel including coating material, synthetic leather and foam cushion are performed under maximum temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ and heating rate of $10^{\circ}C/min$. The results of TGA have shown that the peak temperature of MDF panel was $324^{\circ}C$ and the initial peak temperature of coating material decreased by $270{\sim}280^{\circ}C$. In the case of synthetic leather and foam materials, the reference temperature and reference rate depend on the type of polymer consisting the sample, the initial kinetic characteristics was classified into 2 categories of about $270^{\circ}C$ and $420^{\circ}C$ of reference temperature for the tested synthetic materials. The present study showed the pyrolysis parameters of reference temperature and reference rate proposed by Lyon to evaluate the pre-exponential factor and activation energy. The present study can contribute to improve the reliability of computational fire analysis and enhance the understanding of fire propagation phenomena based on the thermal properties study of material.

The thermal analysis of electronic equipment is required to predict the reliability of electronic equipment being loaded on a satellite. The transient heat transfer of electronic equipment that was developed recently has been generated using a large-scale integration circuit. If there is a transient heat transfer between EEE(Electric, Electronic and Electro mechanical) parts, it may lead to failure the satellite mission. In this study, we performed the thermal design and analysis for reliability of APD(Antenna Pointing Driver) electronics for activation of a spaceborne X-band 2-axis antenna. The EEE parts were designed using a thermal mathematical model without the thermal mitigation element. In addition, thermal analysis was performed based on the worst case for verifying the reliability of EEE parts. For the thermal analysis results, the thermal stability of electronic equipment has been demonstrated by satisfying the de-rating junction temperature.

In this paper, we presented the prosody analysis results of five selected words according to its usage in a sentence, i.e.. the part of sentence (PoS) while changing the type of sentences such as simple, conjugate, and complex sentences. The selected five Korean words were 'U-Ri-Na-Ra' 'Bul-Kuk-Sa', 'Uh-Muh-Ni', 'Han-Ra-San', and 'Cang-A-Ji'. These five words were used as a subjective, an objective, and an adverb in each simple, conjugate, and complex sentence. The pitch, energy, and duration of each word were then analyzed and used for the synthetic speech prosody Improvement. The subjective test on the prosody improvement showed that more than $50\%$ of our listeners are affirmative to the prosody Improvement of the synthetic speech.

A neural network approach has been developed to determine the depth of a surface breaking crack in a steel plate from ultrasonic backscattering data. The network is trained by the use of feedforward three-layered network together with a back-scattering algorithm for error correction. The signal used for crack insonification is a mode converted 70$^{\circ}$transverse wave. A numerical analysis of back scattered field is carried out based on elastic wave theory, by the use of the boundary element method. The numerical data are calibrated by comparison with experimental data. The numerical analysis provides synthetic data for the training of the network. The training data have been calculated for cracks with specified increments of the crack depth. The performance of the network has been tested on other synthetic data and experimental data which are different from the training data.
Nylon 6.6 was treated with anionic synthetic tanning agent at different pH values, temperatures and liquor ratios to determine exhaustion properties. Treatments using syntan were conducted to the undyed nylon 6.6 fiber and three acid dyeings and then samples of the bath solution were subjected to HPLC analysis. Mass analysis was considered to determine the syntan components. In addition, the effect of applications using syntan and syntan/cation in improving the stain resistance was observed. The optimum treatment condition of syntan was achieved and the major component of syntan, being exhausted to the nylon substrates, was determined. In terms of stain blocking effect, a significant improvement was achieved by the syntan and syntan/cation treatments.
This study was used a thermogravimetric analyzer to determine thermal characteristics, a hair analysis system to examine morphological changes of wefts-human hair, poly vinyl chloride(PVC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET)-used in manufacturing wigs. According to a flammability test on human hair and synthetic wefts for wigs, the best results were observed in human hair. According to a thermal test, PET was the best in terms of thermal stability. Also good tensile strength was observed as well. In a scanning electron microscope observation, no human hair scale layer was found because of chemical treatment. In the PVC sample, homogeneous unevenness was observed. Due to a lack of human hair supply and increase in its price, recently, PET weft has emerged as a great substitution for human hair. Because it can be curled using an electric curling device and is more efficient than the conventional non-flammable material PVC in terms of thermal resistance, it will become the next-generation weft for wigs.

In general, the insulation and protective sheaths on electrical conductors are made of combustible substances like PVC, natural or synthetic rubbers, and other organic or synthetic materials. When an electrical fire starts due to overheating of conductors/joints or sparking/arcing, the first thing to ignite is usually the insulation on the cables. When the insulation bums, the produced fumes are very toxic. To solve the problem, we have surely need the fire resistance cable that doesn't bum in a high temperature and emit toxic fume for operating a disaster prevention installation. In this paper, we have simulated the thermal analysis for the fire resistance cable according to the values of current in a overload and a short, and the values of outside flame with the fire resistance cable of the L's company product(600 V, FR-8 : Four Core) using the finite element method(Flux2D).
