This paper is a study on singing voice synthesis modeling using a generator loss function, which analyzes various factors that may occur when applying BEGAN among deep learning algorithms optimized for image generation to Audio domain. and we conduct experiments to derive optimal quality. In this paper, we focused the problem that the L1 loss proposed in the BEGAN-based models degrades the meaning of hyperparameter the gamma(𝛾) which was defined to control the diversity and quality of generated audio samples. In experiments we show that our proposed method and finding the optimal values through tuning, it can contribute to the improvement of the quality of the singing synthesis product.

When the vibration troubles occur on the ship structure during the sea trial, the rectification work is very restricted because of in-situ limitation. Usually, the finite element method is used to improve vibration characteristics of the structure, but it takes lots of time and effort in modeling the structure and adjusting the finite element model in order to consider appropriate boundary conditions of a complex ship structure. Therefore, experimental methods have been in general suggested to obtain proper countermeasures without time-consuming in modeling. In this paper, FRE(frequency response function) synthesis method is applied to estimate natural frequency of the modified ship structure, which is obtained from experimental and numerical methods.

Speech segmentation at phoneme level is important for corpus-based text-to-speech synthesis. In this paper, we examine acoustic modeling methods to improve the performance of automatic speech segmentation system based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM). We compare monophone and triphone models, and evaluate several model training approaches. In addition, we employ an energy-based postprocessing scheme to make correction of frequent boundary location errors between silence and speech sounds. Experimental results show that our system provides 71.3% and 84.2% correct boundary locations given tolerance of 10 ms and 20 ms, respectively.
Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) has been used as a powerful tool for musical sound modeling. This technique considers a sound as a combination of a deterministic plus a stochastic component. The deterministic component is represented by the series of sinusoids that are described by amplitude, frequency, and phase functions and the stochastic component is represented by a series of magnitude spectrum envelopes that functions as a time varying filter excited by white noise. These representations make it possible for a synthesized sound to attain all the perceptual characteristics of the original sound. However, sometimes considerable phase variations occur in the deterministic component by using the conventional SMS for the complex sound such as whale sounds when the partial frequencies in successive frames differ. This is because it utilizes the calculated phase to synthesize deterministic component of the sound. As a result, it does not provide a good spectrum matching between original and synthesized spectrum in higher frequency region. To overcome this problem, we propose a modified SMS that provides good spectrum matching of original and synthesized sound by calculating complex residual spectrum in frequency domain and utilizing original phase information to synthesize the deterministic component of the sound. Analysis and simulation results for synthesizing whale sounds suggest that the proposed method is comparable to the conventional SMS in both time and frequency domain. However, the proposed method outperforms the SMS in better spectrum matching.
This paper presents a new technique of mathematical treatment using a finite element model for analyzing the vibration of the towed line array. Since the towed line array has the axisymmetricity, axisymmetric elements are used in finite element modeling for the towed array structure. The fluid-structure interaction is also considered. The array consists of a series of identical substructures which can include internal structures such as spacers, hydrophones and ropes. That periodicity of substrucutres permits the substructure synthesis technique using characteristic wave guide for analyzing the response of towed array system. This synthesis technique can reduce the cost of computing the array response. It is suggested that a response of towed array can be computed by the finite element method and substructure synthesis technique using wave guide. Several experiments for towed array were performed to verify the present computation technique. The predicted vibration for the towed array shows good agreement with the measured result.

This thesis presents a analysis method of hybrid synthesis petri net for automated manufacturing systems in discrete event dynamic system. There are many errors that can happen to petri net modeling of complex systems because petri net modeling process has so many steps. A new matrix analysis method presented in this thesis can confirm the property of petri net such as boundedness, liveness and reversibility, modify errors which can be occurred in modeling.
In this paper, using one method of Additive Synthesis, Analysis-by-synthesis/Overlap-Add (ABS/OLA) method, analysis and synthesis of musical tones is processed. But peak detection of frequency domain is processed by proposed method considering the view of acoustics. It is that that harmonics frequency is times of main frequency. Using this fact, peak detection of frequency domain is useful for detection of tonal component identified musical note. It is possible to realize high-quality lour bit rate audio.

The Component Mode Synthesis Method for the -vibration analysis can be applied to the large-scaled structures, which have difficulty in modeling because of their intricate shapes and boundary conditions and need much time in computational calculations. This paper uses the Component Mode Synthesis Method to analyze the free vibration for the steel box bridge having the large number of D.O.F as an example of the large structural system. By comparing the CMS method to the other method (FEM), this paper proves the accuracy of the solution in techniques and the efficiency in time.
Physical modeling is a synthesis method of high quality sound which is similar to real sound for musical instruments. However, since physical modeling requires a lot of parameters to synthesize sound of a musical instrument, it prevents real-time processing for the musical instrument which supports a large number of sounds simultaneously. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a single instruction multiple data (SIMD) parallel processor that supports real-time processing of sound synthesis of guitar, a representative plucked string musical instrument. To control six strings of guitar, we used a SIMD parallel processor which consists of six processing elements (PEs). Each PE supports modeling of the corresponding string. The proposed SIMD processor can generate synthesized sounds of six strings simultaneously when a parallel synthesis algorithm receives excitation signals and parameters of each string as an input. Experimental results using a sampling rate 44.1 kHz and 16 bits quantization indicate that synthesis sounds using the proposed parallel processor were very similar to original sound. In addition, the proposed parallel processor outperforms commercial TI's TMS320C6416 in terms of execution time (8.9x better) and energy efficiency (39.8x better).
