SRM Driver Using Simple Position Sensor (간단한 위치센서를 이용한 SRM 드라이버)

  • In switched reluctance motors(SRM), shaft position sensing is essential in order to synchronize the excitation pulse of a pertinent phase to the rotor position. This paper describes the operation of SRM drive using a simple position sensor of low cost. The position sensor is composed of a slotted disk similar to the rotor core shape of a prototype 6/4 SRM and three opto-interrupters disposed at an angle of 30 degrees. The phase current waveforms measured at several rotor speeds in experiment arc compared with those obtained through the computer simulation.

A Voltage Vector Synchronization Method for a Renewable Energy System with a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (권선형유도발전기를 갖는 신재생에너지 시스템을 위한 전압벡터 동기화 기법)

  • In order to transmit energy generated through the stator winding of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), we need to synchronize the generated voltage vector with the grid voltage vector. However, the existing synchronization methods work only when the encoder is installed at a specific position and equivalent constant is precise. In order to solve this problem, a new synchronization method has been proposed and a way of applying the method to existing doubly-fed induction generator control algorithm has been also proposed. The validities of the methods proposed were verified by using a prototype converter for a 1.5MW-class doubly-fed induction generator and experimental results showed the validity of that against variation of an encoder positions, generator parameters, and grid voltages.

  • Camera position information from 2D face image is very important for that make the virtual 3D face model synchronize to the real face at view point, and it is also very important for any other uses such as: human computer interface (face mouth), automatic camera control etc. We present an algorithm to detect human face region and mouth, based on special color features of face and mouth in $YC_bC_r$ color space. The algorithm constructs a mouth feature image based on $C_b\;and\;C_r$ values, and use pattern method to detect the mouth position. And then we use the geometrical relationship between mouth position information and face side boundary information to determine the camera position. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm and the Correct Determination Rate is accredited for applying it into practice.

  • The frequency accuracy and phase alignment is necessary for ensuring the quality of service (QoS) for applications such as voice, real-time video, wireless hand-off, and data over a converged access medium at the telecom network. As telecom networks evolve from circuit to packet switching, proper synchronization algorithm should be meditated for IP networks to achieve performance quality comparable to that of legacy circuit-switched networks. The Time of Packet (ToP) specified in IEEE 1588 is able to synchronize distributed clocks with an accuracy of less than one microsecond in packet networks. But, The ToP can be affected by impairments of a network such as packet delay variation. This paper proposes the efficient method to minimize the expectable delay variation when ToP synchronizes the distributed clocks. The simulation results are presented to demonstrate the improved performance case when the efficient ToP transmit algorithm is applied.

  • In this study we suggest real-time simulator that could describe rent system without ordinary DSP card. This simulator is composed of 80196kc-16bit ordinary microprocessor, which is widely used up to now and personal computer. DSP card that has calculated complex numerical equation is replaced by personal computer and 80196kc generates control signals independently out of the personal computer. In all process personal computer is synchronized with one-board microprocessor (80196kc) within sampling time in the closed loop system. This makes it possible to be described in hydraulic servo system in real time.

  • In this paper, we studied for the real-time azimuthal measurement of HMD (Head Mounted Display) to control the tele-operated vision system on the mobile robot. In the preexistence tele-operated vision system, a joystick was used to control the pan-tilt unit of the remote camera system. To give the sense of presence to the tele-operator, we used a HMD to display the remote scene, measured the rotation angle of the HMD on a real time basis, and transmitted the measured rotation angles to the mobile robot controller to synchronize the pan-tilt angles of remote camera with the HMD. In this paper, we suggest an algorithm for the real-time estimation of the HMD rotation angles using feature points extraction from pc-camera image. The simple experiment is conducted to demonstrate the feasibility.

  • This paper presents a study on a small scale single-phase UPFC preliminary researches on power quality compensating schemes of electrical railway. As the UPFC is very complicated power-electronic system consisting of grid-connected transformers, four single phase inverters interconnected with dc-link capacitors and various electrical apparatuses, multiple controllers and control algorithms are needed, and entire UPFC has been modelled in the form of block diagrams and simulated by using Simulink. The main purpose of the compensating system is to manage reactive and active powers with the four single phase inverters, so, the control effort has been focused on the power flow control and has been realized through the hysteresis current control of the single phase inverters. And transport-delayed PLL with additional delay-time compensating term has been used to synchronize a grid voltage and the simulation results have shown that the compensating term could improve PLL performance under some frequency variation of the voltage.

  • Such as closed caption, ancillary data, electronic program guide(EPG), data broadcasting, and etc, increased data for service convenience cause to degrade video quality of high definition contents. This article propose a method to transfer the closed caption data of video contents without video quality degradation. Video quality degradation does not cause in video compression by the block image insertion of caption data in DTV essential hidden area. Additionally the proposed methods have advantage to synchronize video, audio, and caption from preinserted script without time delay.
