이 논문에서는 형식 검증(formal verification)의 한 분야인 모델 검증(model checking)에 재타이밍(retiming) 기법을 적용하는 방법에서 대해 연구하였다. 재타이밍은 주어진 회로의 레지스터들을 재배치함으로써, 입출력 동작을 바꾸지 않으면서 전이 관계(transition relation)을 변환할 수 있는 기법이다. 이러한 재타이밍을 이용하면 모델 검증을 더 효율적으로 수행하도록 회로를 바꿀 수 있다. 이 논문에서는, 레지스터의 개수와 전이 관계의 특성을 반영한 cost 함수를 제안하고, 재타이밍으로 얻을 수 있는 회로 구조들을 효율적으로 탐색하는 heuristic annealing 알고리즘을 개발한다. 제안된 방법이 모델 검증의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 실험 결과를 통해 보여주었다.

금산사 대장전은 대장경을 봉안하는 건물이라는 명칭을 가지고 있지만 경전은 없으며, 석가모니삼존을 봉안하는 불전이다. 금산사에서 전하는 기록에 의하면 이 건물은 목탑에 불상과 경전을 봉안하던 습관 때문에 점차 불전으로 변한 건물로 알려져 있다. 탑은 사리신앙을 대표하는 구조물임에도 대장전으로 변하였지만 대장경조차 봉안하지 않고 있는 셈이다. 이러한 변화는 금산사 대장전이 상당히 복합적인 성격의 건물이라는 점을 상징하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 이 건물의 변화과정과 신앙적 복합성을 통해 조선후기 교학적 열풍 속에서 사리신앙, 경전신앙의 상관을 접근해 보고자 한다.

이 논문의 주된 목적은 퍼스 기호학에서 상징 개념을 비판적으로 검토하고, 체험주의적 시각에서 대안적 논의의 필요성과 가능성을 제안하려는 것이다. 퍼스는 기호를 도상과 지표, 상징기호로 구분함으로써 기호 탐구에 중요한 진전을 이루었지만 상징기호에 대한 퍼스의 서술은 불투명한 미완의 탐색으로 남게 되었다. 퍼스는 도상기호나 지표기호와 달리 상징기호에 '해석'의 문제가 개입된다고 보았으며, 이 때문에 상징기호를 상위적이고 완전한 기호라고 보았다. 퍼스적 기호 구도 안에서 이러한 생각은 '해석체' 개념을 통해서 해명될 수밖에 없지만 해석체에 대한 퍼스 자신의 서술 또한 화해 불가능해 보이는 불투명성을 드러낸다. 필자는 체험주의적 시각을 빌려 기호의 문제가 '기호적 경험'의 문제라는 사실에 주목하고, '기호적 사상'이라는 기제를 축으로 기호 문제를 해명하려고 했다. 즉 우리 경험은 물리적 경험과 기호적 경험으로 구분될 수 있으며, 기호적 경험은 물리적 경험의 기호적 확장을 통해 확장되며, 동시에 물리적 경험에 의해 강력하게 제약된다. 여기에서 '기호적 사상'은 기호적 경험을 산출하는 핵심적 기제다. 즉 우리는 특정한 기표에 우리 경험내용의 일부를 사상하며, 그 사상된 경험내용의 관점에서 그 기표를 이해하고 경험하게 된다. 이러한 해명에 따르면 퍼스가 구분했던 도상이나 지표, 상징기호는 모두 기호적 사상이라는 과정을 통해 구성된다. 도상기호나 지표기호는 한 기표(=표상체)에 물리적 경험내용을 사상함으로써 구성되지만 상징기호가 한 기표에 추상적 경험내용을 사상하는 방식으로 구성된다. 추상적 경험내용이 물리적 경험내용을 사상하는 방식으로 구성된다는 점을 고려하면 추상적 경험내용을 사상하는 상징기호는 이차사상 또는 그 이상의 중층적 사상을 통해 구성된다. 이런 의미에서 상징기호는 상위적 기호라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 분석은 기호 탐구에서 퍼스의 실재론적 가정을 벗어나 기호적 경험의 본성에 대한 새로운 해명의 필요성과 가능성을 열어 줄 것이다.

스마트 그리드는 기존 전력망에 IT 기술을 접목하여 에너지 효율을 최적화하는 차세대 지능형 전력망으로 미국, 유럽, 일본 등 전 세계적으로 기술개발이 이루어지고 있으며 실증사업을 추진하고 있다. 최근 스마트 그리드에 대한 공격 사례가 증가되고 있으며 개인정보의 사용 및 유출의 피해가 높아지고 있다. 전력망이 더욱 복잡해지고 상호 연결됨에 따라 보안 분석과 평가에 대한 노력이 점차 중요해지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 그리드의 핵심 기술인 AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure)의 공격과 공격에 대한 대응책을 ACT(Attack Countermeasure Tree)를 이용하여 모델링 하였다. 보안 분석은 확률이 있는 경우와 확률이 없는 경우로 나누어서 수행하였다. 이러한 모델을 가지고 SHARPE(Symbolic Hierarchical Automated Reliability and Performance Evaluator)로 구현하여 다양한 경우의 확률과 ROA, ROI, Structure Importance, Birnbaum Importance에 대해 계산하였다.

Purpose: Financial institute employees have various education programs for enhancing customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to explore critical factors that affect the service commitment in the financial institution and to propose the implication for employee's service involvement. Methods: This study is intended to identify how service quality of education, servicescape, and learning motivation affect the service commitment. The research model proposed in this study is tested via a survey of 322 employees for financial institution employees. Results: This study shows that tangibles, reliability, assurance and ambient condition, physical structure, symbolic artifacts and internal motivation, extrinsic motivation significantly influence education satisfaction. Tangibles, reliability and ambient condition, physical structure, symbolic artifacts and internal motivation significantly influence affective service orientation and that tangibles, reliability, assurance and extrinsic motivation significantly influence altruistic service orientation. It also verifies that education satisfaction affective service orientation, and altruistic service orientation positively affect service commitment. Conclusion: This study suggests critical factors to promote service commitment in the financial institute. It has focused on not only the service quality of education program, but also servicescape and learning motivation as the meaningful factors for increasing the employee's service involvement.

In this study I try to show some numerical analogy between Leibniz's binary system anc I-ching's symbolic system of duo rerum principia, imagines quator, octo figurae am 64 hexagrams. But, there is really a formal logical accordance in their symbolic foundations, on which are based especially the Wittgenstein's 16 truth-tables in his Tractatus-logico-philosophicus(5.101) am 16 hexagrams, as long as we interpret with the binary values 0 am 1, i.e. the Bi-Polarity, the logical tradition from J. Boole, G. Frege through B. Russell and AN. Whitehead to R. Wittgenstein. So, I argue that the historical and theoretical root of that tradition goes back to the debate between Bouvet and Leibniz about the mathematical structure of I-ching' symbols and the Leibnizian binary arithmetic. In the letter on 4. 11. 1701 from Peking to Leibniz, Bouvet wrote that the I-Ching's symbolism has an analogous structure with Leibniz's binary arithmetic. Corresponding to his suggestion, but without exact knowledge, in the letter of 2. January 1967 to the duke August in Braunschweig-Lueneburg-Wolfenbuettel had Leibniz shown already an original idea for the creation of the world with imago Dei which comes from binary progression, dark and light on water.

Compared with other philosophers and writers who were engaged in architecture Georges Bataille was extraordinary. Because he produced anti-architectural discourse. This paper studied the Bataille's thinking with relation to architecture that used as a fundamental and privileged metaphor. Philosophy regarded as the foundation of all academic discipline needed architecture in order to show its system was durable, synthetic and hierarchical. The will to build a solid system of reasoning made philosophy to call architecture to pretend that it is structurally stable. Metaphor and representation is inevitable in philosophy. Then architectural image that supported by discourse of philosophy became a representation of sociocultural system. According to Bataille architectural representation justified existing power and belief system. With architecture Identity always represented the true and good. This kind of architectonic thinking erased the Other that allowed metaphysics and symbolic Against architecture Bataille produced writings of violation and excess corresponding to labyrinth. Labyrinth in fact made a formal structure of architecture possible to be a metaphor of symbolic system. Bataille's anti-architectural thinking paradoxically shows the importance of Architecture and give a chance to rethink the ethical aspect of architecture instead of aesthetics.

Increased attention has been paid in recent years to the need of traffic management for alleviating urban traffic congestion. This paper presents a discrete event modeling and simulation framework for analyzing the traffic flow. Traffic simulation models can be classified as being either microscopic and macroscopic models. The discrete event modeling and simulation technique can be basically employed to describe the macroscopic traffic simulation model. To do this, we have employed the System Entity Structure/Model Base (SES/MB) framework which integrates the dynamic-based formalism of simulation with the symbolic formalism of AI. The SES/MB framework supports to hierarchical, modular discrete event modeling and simulation environment. We also adopt the Symbolic DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) to developed the automated analysis methodology for generating optimal signal light policy. Several simulation tests will demonstrates the techniques.

Recently, dexterous mechanical hands have become of interest in the field of robotics. In this paper, a new symbolic C-Y notation is proposed for the kinematic modeling, and we solve the kinematics of a simplified model of POSTECH Hand 1, which is a 5 fingered, 20 degrees of freedom anthropomorphic hand. POSTECH Hand I is designed to have distinctive kinematic structure and the kinematic analysis of the hand is carried out using C-Y notation. To prove the feasibility of C-Y notation, D-H notation is also applied to the POSTECH Hand 1. In the inverse kinematic analysis, we neglect the fingertip geometry and assume the point contact with 3 degrees of freedom constraints. The configurations which optimize manipulability index[2] was obtained based on the simulation experiments on the SUN-4 graphic workstation using SUNPhigs graphic software.
