The purpose of this study is to examine introduction and establishment of the police uniform during Japan's early Meiji period, in order to get deeper understanding of the introduction of the modern uniform. The research method included a literature review of laws related to police uniform, which were collected and analyzed. The result shows that the uniform stipulated by Keisi-cho Uniform regulation in 1874 included characteristics of Western uniforms that show the rank of the officers using emblems, such as different cap badges and uniform stripes, while maintaining the same form. Later, the modern uniform system came into form with the addition of a national symbol, building system of formal wear, separating uniforms for different classes, and adding additional uniforms. This illustrates the process of introducing and establishing western-style uniform in the East and can serve as a reference for similar studies.

Purpose: This study began with an interest in the meaning and importance of Olympic mascots, and this paper aimed to analyze the types and features of mascots by comparing the Summer Olympics mascots from Munich 1972 to Tokyo 2020 and ultimately to understand the attributes of the Summer Olympic mascots. Research design, data, and methodology: The approach of this study is the exploratory approach by literature reviews. This study carried out exploratory research on thinking about understanding the characteristics of the Summer Olympic Games Mascots. Results: First, the Munich 1972 mascot, Waldi is known as the first official mascot. Second, many mascots are designed the most in animal form. But the process of change according to the material of the Olympic mascot changed from a simple animal form to a finely expressed hybrid mascot, and multiple mascots appeared in the 2000s. Conclusions: The Olympic mascot is a representative symbol of the Olympic Games, representing the identity of the host country. Five attributes of the Olympic mascots were identified: friendliness, a symbolic meaning, originality, diversity, and value. Further implications were discussed.

The objective of this study was to derive approximate closed-form error rates for M-ary burst symbol transmission (MBST) of dual-hop adaptive decode-and-forward (ADF) cooperative relay systems over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Within a burst, there are pilot symbols and data symbols. Pilot symbols are used for channel estimation schemes and each relay node's transmission mode selection schemes. At first, our focus was on ADF relay systems' error-events at relay nodes. Each event's occurrence probability and probability density function (PDF) were then derived. With error-event based approach, we derived a tractable form of PDF for combined signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Averaged error rates were then derived as approximate expressions for arbitrary link SNR with different modulation orders and numbers of relays. Its accuracy was verified by comparison with simulation results.

The performances of M-ary DPSK(MDPSK) for diversity reception theoretically are derived, using an L-branch selection combining(SC) in frequency-nonselective slow Nakagami fading channels. For integer values of the Nakagami fading parameter m, An exact closed-form symbol error rate(SER) multichannel performance that can be easily evaluated via numerical integration is presented. Finally, we compare these analyses with numerical analyses with integral-form expressions for the performance of MDPSK signals under the effect of two-branch SC diversity over slow and nonselective Rician fading channels with additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN).

It is known that triangular QAM with triangular signal constellations gets better SER gain than square QAM with rectangular signal constellations. In the paper, we propose an exact and general closed-form expression of the probability of symbol error for generalized TQAM, which has been currently researched. We verify that the simulation is consistent with the derived equation of generalized TQAM. And, we also suggest the optimal signal constellation schemes for generalized TQAM at given SNR values.

The study intends to seek the creative ideas that can satisfy the needs of individual consumers by rediscovering the modern meaning and the artistic value of geometric ornaments engraved on the backside of Danyugyung, which is a traditional Korean pattern. In terms of the study method, the symbolic meaning and formative characteristics of Danyugyung were determined, and the form of its pattern and the geometric characteristics were analyzed. Based on this, Photoshop and illustrations were used to apply the shapes of Danyugyung and internal patterns to the textile designs, and the results are as follows. Firstly, it was found that Danyugyung was associated with the bronze mirror, which was used from the Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age, and was the product of artistic activities and an object and acted as a shamanistic and authoritative symbol of the ruling parties, which were responsible for the acts related to the spiritual world. Secondly, it was discovered that forms of Danyugyung were classified into Jomungyung and Semungyung in accordance with Forms of Danyugyung (造飾), and the formative features of the geometric ornaments that were engraved in great detail on the backside could be found in the images which change according to the form of the inner patterns. Thirdly, with regard to the development of the textile designs utilizing the shape and inner patterns of Danyugyung based on the formative features, it was could discover that the simple shape of Danyugyung presented a value which can be applied as a unique design factor delivering a visual rhythm by attempting to create various harmonies overlapping lines engraved on the inner patterns and the shapes of Danyugyung. Based on the above-mentioned outcomes, the possibility was confirmed that Danyugyung can be used as a novel motif and as a standard unit of patterns for textile design. With future studies, I would like to utilize the unique and diverse images as pattern motif for textile design.

The focus in this paper is on obtaining tight, simple algebraic-form bounds and invertible expressions for the average symbol error probability (ASEP) of M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) in a class of composite fading channels. We employ the mixture gamma (MG) distribution to approximate the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) distributions of fading models, which include Nakagami-m, Generalized-K ($K_G$), and Nakagami-lognormal fading as specific examples. Our approach involves using the tight upper and lower bounds that we recently derived on the Gaussian Q-function, which can easily be averaged over the general MG distribution. First, algebraic-form upper bounds are derived on the ASEP of MPSK for M > 2, based on the union upper bound on the symbol error probability (SEP) of MPSK in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) given by a single Gaussian Q-function. By comparison with the exact ASEP results obtained by numerical integration, we show that these upper bounds are extremely tight for all SNR values of practical interest. These bounds can be employed as accurate approximations that are invertible for high SNR. For the special case of binary phase shift keying (BPSK) (M = 2), where the exact SEP in the AWGN channel is given as one Gaussian Q-function, upper and lower bounds on the exact ASEP are obtained. The bounds can be made arbitrarily tight by adjusting the parameters in our Gaussian bounds. The average of the upper and lower bounds gives a very accurate approximation of the exact ASEP. Moreover, the arbitrarily accurate approximations for all three of the fading models we consider become invertible for reasonably high SNR.

This is a humanistic study to trace phenomena logically the comprehensive therapeutic mechanism of the human body which is coded by the smart emotion of the rated signal conveyed by the Rated Sijo. The Gestalt, which is structured in the form of therapeutic metastasis conveyed by sentences, is intended to embody the principle of human response. So, this researcher explored the metastatic structure toward Gestalt of original human being through the passage of foreground and background by ergonomic and chemical structure. In the meantime, this researcher focused on revealing the structure of the field of existence by the symbol system in which the therapeutic mechanism of the human body is embodied. As a result, the basic framework of Gestalt literary therapy, which contributes to the improvement of the Quality of Life metaphorized as a mechanism of the symbol system by the metastasis of literary therapy or the electrical operation of the human body. As a result, the human body as a conductor through literature has turned out to be an original Gestalt structure pursued by literature. In addition, it was analyzed that the human body would accept signals such as emotions and Rated Emotions planted in the sentence, and synapse them into the human physiological psycho analytical symbol system. Therefore, it has been confirmed possibility that human existent environment and trauma are separated from the whole universe can push fully implement therapeutic techniques toward totalization by a combination of literary devices, especially appropriate electric signal combination of the Rated Sijo.

The purpose of this study is contemplating and substantiating Korean Empire's court costume through relics and photos. Additionally, the meaning of the pattern of Mugunghwa as the national symbol in the court costume is considered. The results of this study are following. First, a phased introduction of western-style court costume was executed through Ulmi Reformation in 1895 and Court Costume Rule in 1900. U1mi Reformation was characterized by transitional reformation because newly introduced system and traditional costume consolidated in costume. Under Court Costume Rule, however, by accepting western-style on contemporary costume, modernized style was settled in every respect of form and matter. The court costume comprised bicorn, coat, vest, pantaloon, sword, sword belt, white collar and white gloves at audience with the Emperor. Second, by examination of the relics of Chigimgwan and Juimgwan, it was confirmed that the court costume was manufactured in foreign countries such as France and Russia on the basis of order. It was also identified by pictures that court costume was worn by diplomats dispatched. Third, the pattern of Mugunghwa in court costume was featured by embroidery of 6 petal pattern. And the pattern of Mugunghwa, as national symbol, has important meaning in view of history and national affection, while Japanese and European adopted the crest of the royal household. In summary, Korean Empire proclaimed modernized court costume institution to handle international relationship driven by West. It was uneasy reformation in adopting western court costume imported from overseas because its textile and style were completely different from traditional costume. However, the willingness of Korean Empire should be reevaluated in the history of Korean costume, in that Korean Empire established court costume proclaimed its sovereignty domestically and overseas, and that the pattern chosen as national symbol was that of Mugunghwa which is current national flower.
