ATM에서 IP 수용방안 (IP Implementation on ATM)

  • ATM technology is well developed. Small-scale access node and edge switches are introduced in the network. Large scale ATM core switches are prepared for backbone application. Currently, Internet traffic is increasing so rapidly and we need to consider effective way of accommodating the volume of traffic. In the other hand, QoS and traffic engineering concept is required in the Internet services. Here, in this paper, two technologies are explained and suggested for integration of networks for future ATM based IP network.

  • In this paper, a new enhanced early fair rate allocation(EFRA+) algorithm is proposed for ATM switches supporting ABR service. The central issue of explicit rate control algorithms for ABR service is the computation of max-min fair rates for every connection. The EFRA+ inherits the main feature of the EFRA, uses the connection control information during the connection setup to prevent potential congestion in switches, and enhances the computation method of the max-min fair rate.

  • This paper is presented the Partial Resonant Soft Switching Mode Power Converter which is adapted the power converter having the partial resonant soft switching mode, that makes switches operated when the resonant current or voltage becomes zero by making the resonant circuit partially at turning on and off of the switches with suitable layout of the resonant elements and switch elements in the converter. Also, this paper includes the analysis and simulation of the Partial Resonant type Buck-Boost Chopper.

  • In this paper, several energy recovery circuits (ERC) for the plasma display panel (PDP) are reviewed and classified in a manner of operation characteristics. A typical ERC using the Regenerative Transformer (RT) is introduced and compared with conventional ones. RT-ERC can achieve zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) for main full-bridge switches and zero-current-switching (ZCS) for the resonant switches and diodes. The charging/discharging energy of panel capacitance is efficiently recovered with the RT and without a sub-circuit. The presented circuit is verified with simulation and experimental results.

  • A novel type of the sinusoidal dc-to-ac converter is presented, where a pair of switches is placed in each side of the primary and the secondary of the isolation transformer. This converter is controlled by the phase difference between the two pairs of switches. As a result, the transformer is miniaturized by making the switching frequency high and the reactive energy can be easily recovered to the dc-source. This converter is especially suitable for small UPS systems.

  • Two kinds of optically-triggered p-i-n switches with planar and V-groove structures have been fabricated with gold-doped silicon. The V-groove device exhibits a higher threshold voltage and is more sensitive to light. The minimum optical power indicates that a certain minimum illumination is required to optically turn on the silicon p-i-n devices.

  • Under most system assumptions, closed form solutions of performance measures for ATM switches with input queueing are not available. In this paper, we present expressions and bounds for the derivatives of cell loss probabilities with respect to the arrival rate evaluated at a zero arrival rate. These bounds are used to give an approximation by Taylor expansion, thereby providing an economical way to estimate cell loss probabilities in light traffic.

  • In conventional zero-current-switching(ZCS) PWM converters, the switching loss, stress and noise can't be minimized because they adopt auxiliary switches operated in hard-switching. In this paper, new ZCS-PWM converters of which auxiliary switches always operate with soft-switching are proposed. Therefore, the proposed ZCS-PWM converters are most suitable for systems requiring high-power density. The characteristics of these converters are verified by results of simulation.

  • New switching signal pattern for four switches is proposed to prevent the shortage of PWM ac choppers. In the proposed technique, four signals to four power switches are generated without current transformer, while the conventional technique requires sensing the polarity of input voltage by voltage comparator and checking the direction of input current by the current transformer. The signal circuit built by the proposed technique is simple, and reduces also the switching loss.
