A Study on the Performance Analysis of Photovoltaic System with Digital Surge Detection device

  • This paper examines the performance improvement of a photovoltaic power generation system with a surge protection function by applying a digital surge detection device for surge suppression in a direct current distribution panel applied to a photovoltaic power generation system. The main components used for surge protection are mainly SAD, MOV, and GTA components, and a digital surge detection device was additionally applied to this. Each component has advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance and functionality for surge protection, so a surge protection device with meaningful performance and functionality must be designed in a complex device structure that harmonizes the advantages and disadvantages of each component in order to construct a surge protection device with meaningful performance and function. Through empirical experiments, a performance analysis of a complex surge detection device to which a digital surge detection device is applied was conducted. As a result of the experiment, through absorption and blocking of surges detected through a digital surge detection device, it has both absorption and blocking performance for surges and exhibits surge absorption characteristics for hundreds of voltages in micro second. This performance showed a relatively stable state against surge noise compared to conventional devices, which produced an output waveform of stable quality in the inverter output waveform.

  • This paper deals with the surge counter drived by lightning and switching currents. In order to install the effective surge protective devices, it is important to find the parameters of incident surges. In this paper, for the purpose of protecting the electronic circuits and counting the occuring frequency, the current driving type surge counter is designed and fabricated. The surge counter consists of surge protective divices, current detector, metal oxide varistor(MOV), rectifier, capacitor, and electromagnetic counter. This surge counter is able to count the occuring frequency of surges and to clamp lightning surge current. To evaluate the performance of the surge counter, impulse voltage and current were applied at the surge counter by the surge generator. As a result, applied surges were exactly counted and clamped.

수압조절수조(Surge Tank)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Surge Tank)

  • For the simplicity in the analytical solution, the simple surge tank has been chosen for the test where an unsteady flow is porduced by suddenly closing the valve controlling the discharge. The valve is loated immediately downstream from the surge tank. Momentumn equations in the penstock and in the surge column are measured recored on the oscillograph and then the calibration of surge column heights and scale readings on the oscillograph trace are made. The diameter of the penstock are determined by the trial and error method. The water levels in the surge column are computed by numerical integration of the differential equation of the surge tank. The relationships between the results from the experiment and numerical computation are figured, compared and discussed.

  • 본 논문은 낙뢰 Surge 방호를 위하여 독립접지를 공통접지로 개선하는 효율적인 방법을 제안하였다. 낙뢰 Surge 방호를 위해서는 등전위 이론에 근거하는 공통접지방식이 적합하고, 중성선이 있는 전원계통에서는 공통접지방식을 사용하는 것이 국제적으로 통용되는 기술규격이다. 따라서 낙뢰 Surge에 취약한 문제점을 갖고 있는 기존의 중성선이 없는 전원계통의 독립접지방식을 중성선이 있는 전원계통의 공통접지방식으로 개선을 하고, 정전압소자를 이용하여 낙뢰 Surge를 방호하는 효율적인 등전위 시스템 구축 방법을 제안한다.

  • Electronic equipments made from electrical circuits with small-sized semiconductor are very weak against lightning surge. So, electronic equipments is protected by SPD(surge protective devices) such as Zno varistor. The SPD protect electronic circuit in electronic equipments and AC power lines from the lightning surge. Therefore to achieve effective method of surge protection, there are needs for correlation between lightning surge protective effect and installation method of surge protective device.   • 본 논문은 낙뢰 Surge 방호를 위하여 독립접지를 공통접지로 개선하는 효율적인 방법을 제안하였다. 낙뢰 Surge 방호를 위해서는 등전위 이론에 근거하는 공통접지방식이 적합하고, 중성선이 있는 전원계통에서는 공통접지방식을 사용하는 것이 국제적으로 통용되는 기술규격이다. 따라서 낙뢰 Surge에 취약한 문제점을 갖고 있는 기존의 중성선이 없는 전원계통과 독립접지방식을 중성선이 있는 전원계통과 공통접지방식으로 개선을 하고, 정전압소자를 이용하여 낙뢰 Surge를 방호하는 효율적인 등전위 시스템 구축 방법을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 철도 시스템에서 사용하는 저압 전원용 서지보호장치(surge protective devices) 규칙의 성능평가 항목 및 성능개선 방안에 대하여 고찰하였다. 먼저 철도시스템 환경과 관련된 전자기장해(electromagnetic interference) 현상을 검토하였다. 그리고 국제규격인 IEC 및 IEEE와 평가항목 및 펑가방법 등을 비교 검토하였다. 검토 결과 국내 철도관련 규격은 국제규격과 비교하여 비교하여 발견하였다. 개선방안으로 서지 보호소자 단위의 시험은 삭제하고, 규격 종류는 전원용과 신호용으로 분리하며, 서지 파형은 국제적으로 인정된 것을 사용하도록 제안하였다. 철도용 저압 서지보호장치에 대해 서지제한전압 측정 및 서지 수명시험을 국제규격에 따라 시험한 결과 만족스러운 결과를 얻었다.

  • This paper describes a simple prediction method of beach recession induced by storm surge. In order to evaluate the severest beach erosion, it is assumed that maximum beach recession occurs at the coming of storm surge overlapped with spring tide. Consequently, total surge lev디 becomes the sum of storm surge level and tidal range. Generally, storm surge level around Korea is small compared with tidal range. Therefore total surge can be expressed as the series of surges, which have same duration as tide. Through the case studies, the author Investigates correlation between tidal range, duration, wave condition, beach slope and beach recession.
